Kenneth Cole disappoints big time     On: 2008-06-14

This watch is similar to a Kenneth Cole I bought at almost the same price. Loved the styling and got many compliments BUT, the watch stopped working within a year. Cost 80.00 to repair (same price as the watch), and lasted another few months before stopping dead again. Wouldnt DREAM of buying another Kenneth Cole watch. Great styles, but extremely poor quality and reliability. Buyer beware.
Good looking watch, great value     On: 2008-06-14

Im not much into designer-named watches. However, this watch caught my eye while browsing the Kenneth Cole store. I purchased it on the spot and havent regretted one minute with it. Being able to see the movement and being able to easily tell the time isnt something that you can normally do with skeleton watches. The movement is from China, but in this case it works. The decorations on it make looking at the front and back of the movement a pleasure. However, dont fool yourself, though, because this isnt a fine Swiss, German or Japanese movement. When moving the hands to set the time you can feel and see that its pretty cheap. It does tell time pretty well though.

Make note that there are two different versions of this watch, brown (or dark copper) and black. The name "Kenneth Cole" might also be different. Mine says "Kenneth Cole - Reaction" and is in regular type-face. Ive seen others with "Kenneth Cole - New York" and its in script face. On the back with the "New York" model youll see Kenneth Cole on the display back whereas the "Reaction" model is blank.

For about the amount of a tank of gas for a SUV, this watch is a great value. I highly recommend it if you like the almost square like design of the watch.
Great watch.     On: 2008-04-03

You cant beat the quality and design of this watch for the price that you pay. Im a big fan of Bulova and Accutron watches and have quite a few of them but since this watch arrived it hasnt left my wrist. If this watch had swiss movement Im sure it could sell for over $1,000. It is definately a very casual watch that doesnt draw too much attention but once someone sees it I always get compliments.
This is a fun, elegant, well made watch.     On: 2008-02-15

I looked at a number of automatic [that is, self winding] skeleton [that is, watches where you can see the movement through the face] watches before selecting this one and Im very happy with it.

I wanted to note a couple of features that I really like but which arent obvious. First, the back of the watch is clear crystal and you can see the movement and the self-winding pendulum. Second, the watch is large but looks good on my average size wrist. Finally, the stem of the watch is protected by a subtle metal bracket and I REALLY like that feature. I have a watch with an unprotected stem, and just putting on or taking off a leather jacket can pull the stem out, which makes the watch stop. When I dont notice that for a couple of hours, its really annoying. So I really like it that THIS watch has a bracket that does a good job of protecting the stem from unwanted pulling or turning.

One more thing. You can easily see how wound-up the watch is by looking through the case at the spring (at the 12 oclock position). Thats fun.

I like the hip, fashionable design, I like seeing the movement, and the watch keeps accurate time. Its just what I was looking for. Enjoy.
