![]() Chase-Durer Men's_Watch Watch CD155.4BB2-PVIB By: Chase-Durer Average Rating: 3.5 Total Reviews: 3 More Information Nice Watch for a Decent Price My previous experience with a Chase-Durer watch was not very good. It was a black PVD Special Forces watch, which was very cheap at the time, only $158. It was pretty nice but did not last long. The chronograph buttons broke in a couple of years, less than 2 years. It couldnt be repaired completely. This time I bought this after a long thought. It looks good, the size is right for me. I have a pretty thin wrist and 38mm is probably the largest watch that I can wear and this is it. The luminous hands work well and the alarm works well. By the way the alarm sound is very quiet, which I think is a good point. The only concern is the watch band. Due to my thin wrist, I had to cut almost all the rubber band, but the band itself is very stiff, so it was hard to bend it so that it wraps my wrist. When I open the clasp, the band straightens like a spring. I am afraid if the rubber part that is connected to the watch gets broken sometime. Regarding the durability, of course I still dont know. I know that this will not be super durable, so I will be very careful. There is a little difference from other usual chronograph. The chrono reset button usually works as a temporary stop for elapsed time reading when pressed while the chrono is running but this one only resets to 0 whether the chrono is running or stopped by the start/stop button. Otherwise I like it. I rate it 3 stars because I kind of predict its lack of durability. Unlike most other chronographs, I found minute and hour hands of chronograph advance proportionately little by little to the second hand, not by one marker. It makes me see minutes a little difficult. Present This watch was a gift to my son USAF graduation and He was very happy, quality and design and functionality at its best. Thank you Ben Gaskins. Nice watch but poor quality Ive had this watch for almost 4 years now. Battery died after 3 years, as advertised. Hybrid rubber/anodized steel band had to be changed about the same time ($40 approx.) Ive had two problems with this watch: 1) Salt water turns the black color into dark brown. I went snorkeling several times, and had no other problems. 2) One hand fell off. Very expensive to fix. customer support recommended buying a new one. I am definitely going to do that, just that it will be a different brand. Too bad, I really loved this one. Bottom-line: One of the best looking watches on the market today, at an accessible price. Build quality is definitely not on par. If you expect to spend around $xxx and keep the watch for only 2-3 years, its fine, but thats about it. Hope this helps. |
