What a disappointment!!!!     On: 2007-04-16

When purchasing this watch which was the top of the range luminox brand (the most expensive of any luminox watch) one would expect a superior product. The price before an amazon special discount was $1500.00 which places in the range of TAG Heuer as well as the cheaper Omega watches, an expensive item. The watch arrived superbly packed and looked really great. In addition it kept good time and the luminous quality was as promised excellent. However the black coating around the face of the watch and on the strap scratches easily and reveals a silver color underneath which is clearly visible. These scraches increase in size as quantity once the first one begins. I made calls to both Kenmar watches who supplied the watch as well as Luminox themselves. Both were most unsatisfactory they pointed out that the web-site states the watch has a Black PVD plated stainless steel 42mm case and this will tarnish with time. Repair of this was not possible and was not covered by the guarentee. If you are looking for a reliable, reable in the dark watch that does not keep its good looks then this watch is for you. If you are looking for a watch that also maintains its aesthetic appeal then look elsewhere for a watch that is priced in that range and that will be as rugged as it needs to be.
