5 star watch for this price range     On: 2007-10-29

I have worn this watch for about two weeks now, and I love it. I did have to send one back as the movement was bad. It was gaining greater than 5 minutes per day. I took a chance and got another one, and I am glad I did. The new one has a great movement, and is staying within 2 to 3 seconds a day. It is a 27 jewel swiss movement with a partial exhibition case back (the back has two windows, half moon shaped).

It is about 44.5 mm excluding crown, so it is a sizable watch. It has some heft to it due to the brushed stainless steel bracelet. The bracelet is solid, and be warned that it is rather inflexible. It is stiff, so much so the watch will not lay flat. I find it very comfortable, but I also have an 8" wrist. By the way, it is a generous bracelet, as I had to remove two links. The Hamilton name is etched into the clasp.

It is a rugged looking watch, not really what I would classify as a "dress" watch as per the description.

All in all, for this price range, I really love this watch. Given the fact this is a swiss made watch, not a swiss "parts" watch, it is a great value.

This Hamilton lives up to its heritage in my opinion.
