Croton Men's Black IP Stainless Steel Bracelet Watch

This watch is utter rubbish     On: 2007-09-11

I bought this watch for $80, and while I was not expecting a lot, I was at least expecting $80 worth. Lets see, where do I start:
1 - The timepiece is garbage. The day of the week has to be set by cycling through all 24 hours, and it cycles between french and english randomly. Right now, it is saying MAR (mardi = Tuesday)
2 - The watch band is excellent - except for one problem - Its not black on all sides. The face where the links face each other is incompletely painted black. Normally this is not a problem since youd never see that face anyways.
3 - The timepiece does not fit the band. The two links on either side of the timepiece are kind of wedged in, which means that it does not really wrap well around the wrist since those two links will resist movement. You have to kind of push it down in order for it to fit properly. Since it does not fit, the uncolored faces of the band mentioned in #2 are revealed, and theres this kind of ugly goldish point that really is noticeable.
4 - The little diving thing just pops right off if you pull it slightly. Its not actually held on by anything. Ive only had the watch for a week, but I could definitely see it inadvertently getting caught on something and getting lost.

This watch is nothing more than a mediocre piece of jewelry. Unless you like to read dates in French and take 10 minutes to adjust it, you will not find the watch portion very useful. The unpainted faces of the band also are signs of poor design/workmanship.

Knowing what I know now, Id say the watch is comparable to other $20 watches - not anywhere near $80. If it werent for the nice look of the black band at distance, Id say the watch is worth $5.
