 MENS SKAGEN COLLECTORS LIMITED EDITION WATCH H450LSLW By: Skagen Average Rating: 4.0 Total Reviews: 4 More Information High class looking without the high class price  On: 2008-07-05This watch is gorgeous! The band is extremely comfy and looks expensive without an outrageous price tag to go along with it. This was a great addition to a large watch collection and a watch worn more often then even some of my most expensive. A wonderful price for a watch that is a limited edition Skagon!!! A MUST HAVE!! Great watch, but what's it all about?  On: 2008-02-26This is a very stylish watch that is typical "Skagen minimalist". Its a good size, very thin of course, with clear hands on the face. No luminous features - you cannot read this watch in the dark :-) The edge of case is split and has a series of "studs" around the circumference. Its actually a nice detail and is completely in-character with the rest of the design. You can just about see the detail in some of the oblique shots. The strap has a suede-look central band (you can make this out on the photos). I suspect it wont be all that durable but who knows? Straps are easy and cheap to replace anyway. At $45 I think this watch was a real bargain and Im extremely pleased with it. So what about the downside? Well given how inexpensive this watch was I was tempted to give it five stars. But this particular example is advertised as a "Limited Edition, Hans Christian Andersen" watch. Unfortunately Skagen gives no information on this - which I think is a strange omission for a "Limited Edition" design. It would have been nice to have just a simple sheet of paper in the box to explain what the writing was, and why it had been chosen. Is it an original draft of "The Little Mermaid", or just his shopping list? Oddly I cant even find this information on the web. nice time piece, classy. On: 2008-01-07a very nice watch, no frills only function is the time and to look nice, it does both well. Skagen Collectors Edition Men's Watch  On: 2007-10-11If I could add a half a star on this item I would. This is the second Skagen Ive owned. The first I wore till the gold wore off and the crown was a nub. I had a jeweler tell me he couldnt understand why it was still running...but it was. Over all I like this watch but there are 4 things I would improve upon. The band is junk and its hard to put on. (I still have the stainless mesh band from my first watch and if it was the same size I would switch it.) The writing on the face is illedgible and though Im certain that this is what makes it the collectors edition, I have no idea what it says. Third, I have gotten use to having a date on my watch face and I miss having it on this watch. Lastly, I would like a second hand. Ok...the last 2 items do not fit with the simplicity of the original Skagen design, they are just my personal preferences. Overall, the watch keeps great time and it looks good. I got a $45 dollar deal on it so really, I am very satisfied with this purchase. These guys got it right the first time. I wish they would stop monkeying around with their own designs.
