 MENS VICTORINOX SWISS ARMY LEATHER NEW DATE WATCH 24234 By: Swiss Army Average Rating: 3.5 Total Reviews: 2 More Information Sturdy, attractive, accurate  On: 2008-04-11Ive owned this watch for about 10 years. Its the best watch Ive ever owned and I love it. I dont see the model name in the Amazon description, but it is the Swiss Army "Cavalry" model. The watch seen on this Amazon page is the older version (which I own)...newer version has the name "Victorinox" just above the name "Swiss Army" on the face. You can see it at the Victorinox-Swiss Army web site. Its remarkably sturdy...Ive accidentally dropped it and banged it dozens of times over the years with no negative effects. Its has a solid, substantial feel to it. After 10 years of daily use, the stainless steel does show wear...tiny, thin, hairlike scratches accumulated over that time which almost make it look like brushed steel, now, but it still has plenty of shine. The watch is accurate, too...Ive never had to adjust it because it was slow or fast, over time. Its an attractive watch and I love its clean lines of its unique yet simple design. I notice people looking at it often and they sometimes ask about it. Ive replaced the band twice over the years - once where the buckle fastens, and once at one of the rivets near where it attaches to the watch. The description says the band is suede leather, but thats not accurate...every band Ive had for it has been standard leather. I bought one replacement band from a jeweler, and the second from the Swiss Army web site. I just looked and it seems they dont offer that style of band anymore. Not glad.  On: 2007-12-29My watch arrived and I was initially happy with it, but one day, suddenly, my watch fell and I realized that its wristband had become loose. I thought it might be a simple matter of placing a pin in its right place (as the watch had come with a puzzling addional pin of the type frequenly used in wristbands. But when I looked more carefully, it was apparent that there were no holes for the pin to go into. Therefore I am left with a perfectly working watch but no way to wear it... To top it all, I threw away the receipt, so I dont know where to send it, whether it has any warranty or what... |
