Decent Racing Watch     On: 2008-03-17

This reviewer races sailboats and has owned a wide variety of watches over the years for timing starts and for chronometer functions while on the racecourse. Also have a preference for analogue over digital, having owned and used several of each.

The Nautica N25002 brings together several basic features that Ive come to appreciate. First, it is large, robust and waterproof and so far seems able to take a beating in a marine environment and still do its job. The adjustable 10-minute countdown timer works well, is fairly easy to read at a glance and can be reset quickly without much thought. The alarm is perhaps a bit quieter than most - sometimes hard to hear in more than 15kts of breeze or during a particularly busy start - times when one normally relies more on the bowman than a watch anyway. And a respectfully quiet alarm can actually be a good thing when one needs waking up the morning after a rum squall.

Off the water, this watch looks good. Youd never be mistaken for wearing a calculator your wrist, or for perhaps having a serious vision problem, as with some of the large format digitals.

In all, a good watch that does what its supposed to and looks as though it will probably be bashing around the racecourse for years to come.
Happy     On: 2008-02-21

this watch was a replacement watch. the watch i replaced was also nautica. both watches are very nice. unfortunately the watch i returned had a defect in design. the lock had no tension and would open during wear. the lock on the new watch is tight and secure. i like the face of this new watch. it is smaller than the watch i returned, however its still big and visible. it also has one less dial than the three that most chronos have but it still has the date. clean look. good weight. im happy with it. thanx & luv u cooliehead(jojo)!
