Tuff as nails, unprecedented durability!!     On: 2008-01-19

Ive worn this watch every day since 2000!! This thing has been dropped on concrete, bounced off of peoples heads, used to calculate time fuse burns, worn in fresh and salt water, bumped, banged and knocked all over the place. I lead a very active and sometimes violent life in law enforcement/demolitions. Ive only had to replace the battery twice! One of the pins in the band wore out last year and Chase sent me two for free!!! I only wish it had an alarm, which is the only reason I didnt give it 5 stars but Ill buy another when this one finally bites the dust.
Chase-Durer Watches are poor quality!     On: 2007-10-05

DO NOT BUY CHASE DURER WATCHES! I purchased one 3.5 years ago this Christmas. It stopped working last month, I sent it in to Chase, it was a few MONTHS out of warranty. They stated the movement was BAD! And wanted 1/2 the original price to repair it. I opted not to invest anymore in such shoddy craftsmanship. They would not negotiate, just kept stating, that it was "company policy" and there was nothing they could do. I payed to ship it there and back. I will never purchase nor recommend any Chase products. I call it an expensive lesson learned. Ive had a Seiko Chrono that hasnt skipped a beat in 20 years. Military watches,,,,right,,,,,,
Even better in real life.     On: 2007-02-19

Ive owned this watch about 3 years now. Its big, its heavy, and its pure quality. I own several great watches, but this one gets the most wrist time. I just keep coming back to it. Its hard to explain, Japanese watches are fine, and perfectly good at what they do, but they just dont have that precision "feel" that this watch has. You literally feel like youre strapping on a fine, purpose oriented machine instead of just jewelry. If I had any complaint it would be the bezel. Its well made, its just that it counts up, but with the chronograph function, you can do that anyway. I would prefer that the bezel counted down. The movement, while only quartz, is not cheap, Swiss ETA 27 jewels, and fully serviceable, not a throwaway. A very nice feature of this movement is that you can adjust the hour and date without affecting the minutes or seconds. Great for different timezones or daylight savings time. The watch is also very easy to read in the dark with the hands and numbers glowing brightly at first and then dimming at about the rate my eyes need to adjust to the dark. The faint, but readable glow then lasts pretty much all night.
When I first saw this watch in real life, I was like "Man, its a bit much, almost too Mack Bolan." But after I put it on, I got this grin, you know the kind, it just wouldnt go away. No other timepiece has had that affect.
