It is a bit larger than I visualized. The N1 watch has a quality feel and heft to it. The polished and brushed finished on the stainless steel case is very nice. The leather band is the same quality as the bands I see on sale for $40 or $50. Although not an essential feature, the exhibition back is pretty cool. Apparently this watch is limited to a total of 3000. The serial number on mine is 360/3000. On first impression, this is a wonderful watch and a good buy. I will follow up on this review after I have worn the watch for a while. Vostok Europe Watch N1 Rocket 2205047  On: 2008-01-04This is a great value for a mechanical automatic GMT. Purchased at $117 including shipping, but worth the $150ish price at which it is usually available. Solid and attractive medium/large case with domed crystal. Timekeeping is good. Black dial and luminus hands/markers are easy to read 24 hours a day. Water resistance is good for all activities except deep diving. Black leather strap is a classic, thick padded, grained leather. The only negative is the rotating bezel - it is property stiff, but lacks any gripping surface to turn with fingers alone. A rubber jar lid opener serves the purpose. If this watch is damaged, lost or stolen in your world travels you are only out $150 - and you have spared your $4500 Rolex for its best use of impressing your friends at the office. A solid watch at a modest price. |
