![]() Hamilton Men's X01 watch #H51591399 By: Hamilton Average Rating: 3.0 Total Reviews: 4 More Information hamilton x-01 clasp problem fixed love the watch but could not stand having to re clasp the band all day long. took the watch over to my beanch grinder and ground the release tabs back 1/8 inch under top part of clasp, problem fixed. helps to have a nice fresh wheel on grinder. I love this watch I own many watches, and I have to say the first time I saw the add for this watch in GQ I had to have it. I called every where online and could not find it, found few places but they wanted $300 more for the watch. I contacted the dealer in LA and picked it up next day. The watch is great, I get compliments on it all the time. But it seems that everyone is have the problem with the clasp, which unlatches accidentally -and continuously. Also watch has 5 time zones, two on the main dial and 3 small watches below, setting the time is very hard on the small units, and I dont even want to know how hard would be to replace the batteries for the small watches. The Clasp is awful... This is a very stylish watch, but I find that the clasp will constantly unlatch while I have it on. Also, removing links from the band involves permanently cutting the links off with a knife. I think the band is too tight now, but I cant loosen it. Beautiful Watch With Missing Part; Cautionary Tale There being no Hamilton dealer in my area with one on hand, I purchased this limited edition X-01 watch from Kenmar Watches through Amazon. The watch arrived missing one of the spring bars that attaches the band to the watch. The watch was obviously missing the spring bar as the watch band was visibly unattached and dangling. The invoice still listed it as having been fully inspected and perfect. Considering the price of the watch, this was extremely disappointing. I contacted Kenmar promptly and was initially pleased with their willingness to resolve the issue. I was told they would replace the missing part, but several months later, I have still not received a response. Upon seeking assistance directly from Hamilton, I was informed that Kenmar isnt an authorized dealer. I then located an authorized repair center who secured the replacement part in two days. This problem serves as a reminder that some expensive, hard-to-find items are best purchased in person and not from vendors far away and of questionable reliability. Finally, there is a widespread problem with the clasp, which unlatches accidentally -and continuously- many times a day while wearing the watch. After contacting Swatch (who owns Hamilton), I received a reply telling me that the company has redesigned and is manufacturing a new clasp mechanism that will be available in May 2007. |
