Very nice and eye stopping watch!     On: 2006-09-28

Overall, A very nice watch and Im extremely saftisfied with it so far. It definitely grabs attention from others who are used to seeing that bulky G-Shock watch. The fact that this watch isnt round makes it a hell of a lot more stylish and modern. If this watch was a bit thinner on the case I would have gave it a 6 out of 5, but the image here definitely made me think twice. Guess thats what you get for buying clothing items online! Dont let that get you down though, this watch is awesome and I dont regret buying it whatsoever.

Ok let me make a few things clear about this watch before you decide to click that check out button.

First of all, the picture makes the watch look a bit different than it actually is when you receive it. In the image shown, the LCD has kind of a tinted blue background. The watch only looks that way when you push the backlight button! Normally its appearance is a simple negative LCD.

Second, the watch does appear to be thin in the image, which it is not. The watch itself is a little over ¼ inch thick.

Third, in some lighting the watch can but a bit dim to read, but thats just because Im picky. Its still very readable in any light, just a tad bit dim.

Lastly, I read the instructions when I got the watch and it said the battery should last 1-2 years. Not very long ey?

Now that Ive got my gripes out of the way I can explain the pros of this nice watch!

Just the thought of this watch being designed by a surfer from my home state gets me off. The stainless steel from makes it look very modern and sport-like. The case is a brushed stainless steel which you can tell apart from the buttons which are a nice chrome finish. I did think the case could have been a little bit thinner, but the watch is still very nice and after a while the thickness just makes the watch look more sturdy and tough.

The band is something I like especially. Definitely the type of material I love to have around my wrist. Its very comfortable, unlike stainless steel bands that just pull out your arm hairs and dig into your skin. There are no sharp points on this bad boy so the watch is very sport dynamic. A nice blue band makes it a lot more unique than the average silver or black band on todays watches. When wet, the band will turn a darker blue, and as it dries turns back to a slightly darker shade than normal blue. The notches and clip on the band arent built like some cheap 9 dollar watch at walmart. Brushed stainless steel on the clip with the engraving of "Freestyle." A notch at the end of the band lets the engraved rubber band holder stop at the end of the watch without it slipping out and having the end of your band flap everywhere.

The screen itself is protected with some sort of mineral coat that keeps the scratches away. I bang it up a lot and it works a lot better than my 9 dollar walmart watch!

It also has a nice timer, stop watch, alarm, date notification on the top of the time, and a fairly dim signal for "PM" on the bottom left. It also lets you track another time and date, under Time-2.

The light is a very nice solid blue, not like those ugly teal colored indiglo watches from the dollar store.
