![]() Freestyle Men's Shark X Watch #75003 By: Freestyle Average Rating: 3.0 Total Reviews: 2 More Information Great looking, solid sports watch Ive had this for a few months - wear it to work and also windsurfing - all the time in fact. Have yet to see one scratch on the crystal, and I usually scratch up my Casio crystals in a hurry. The small digital portion of the watch may be disappointing to some in that it has few features, but thats actually what I wanted - alarm, date, simple stop-watch. The night illumination feature is weak, compared to standard watches, which is why Im rating it down one star. I had not thought I would make use of the rotating bezel, but end up using it on occasion to time some event. It continues to operate solidly with a satisfying ratcheting action. If you want an interesting sports watch and not just another Casio, and/or intend it for watersports - this is a great watch. If you want an interesting sports watch and not just another Casio, and/or intend it for watersports - this is a great watch. Buy for the looks... ...not for the functions. First, replace the watch band. Its too stiff and heavy for comfort. Second, the watch is only good for analog use during the daytime. The digital functions are almost too small too read. And the light only illuminates the digital display. The glow in the dark hands, dont. Third, the bezel rotates too easily. Along with the "busy" face, this makes the watch a poor tool for diving. On the other hand, if you just need a kinda cool looking everyday watch, this one works great. Just replace the band. plastic like I recently purchased this watch at big discount ($29) via a company for whom I work. The list price here seems to be roughly $70. Quite honestly, you could go to Target and buy a Casio that is far more sturdy and has more features for the same retail price. The band on this watch is very inflexible, stiff rubber and doesnt conform to the wrist very well. The dial around the outer edge is plastic, not metal. In fact its so plastic-like that you can sometimes see the light gleem through. The numbered ring also doesnt turn very easily and needs to be forced. Im not that familiar with the Freestyle brand, but this watch really isnt worth more than $20 if you look at other competitors. You could probably buy something better in the GI-Joe section of Toys-R-Us. The background light only illuminates the small digital portion of the face. |
