I have had no problems with the points on the back, they are average, if you do simply dont wear the watch so tight. This is one of my favorite watches, it has a good heavy solid feel to it, no larger than a Swiss Army Marerick 2 watch. Changing this size of the braclet is no problem, I did it myself in under 5 minutes with a sizing kit. The only real problem with this watch is that the black finish is easly scratched off, this is true of all black metal watches. by: Anonymous On: 2007-05-13
I really like this watch.
Ill start with the one negative Ive noticed, and the reason why Im giving 4 stars instead of 5.
As a few other reviews Ive read have mentioned, it has some pointy edges on the back of the case that can dig into my wrist. If I wear this watch for long periods I notice myself unsnapping the band to get a little relief from the case digging in.
Aside from the one negative I really do like this watch. I find it easy to set. It keeps accurate time, based on comparisons with a Casio atomic watch.
While I dont go diving, I have had it in water, and it hasnt been phased.
Its got a sturdy feel. The ratcheting bezel is taut, without being hard to operate. Its easy to set. The crown turns easily without feeling like its going to fall off in my hand.
Im a fan of the all black look. Black dial, black case, black band.
I compare it quite favorably to my Citizen Black Eagle Nighthawk, but the luminox can be read in the dark.
The absolute best feature to me, is the fact that the hour markers glow without the need to push any buttons. Its just a quick glance at the watch and the time is easily readable in any light conditions. No need to free up my other hand to push a button in low light or dark conditions.
Id call the Luminox 6402 a definite winner. by: Anonymous On: 2006-12-28
This watch is big (46mm not including the crown), but fits well on my 6 3/4" wrist. Ive worn it jogging for 5 miles without a problem. 10 year battery, sapphire crystal, 12 hour bezel (great for traveling in multiple time zones), outstanding lume at night - overall, Im very happy with it.
However, I deducted one star because the bracelet is extremely difficult to adjust. I usually adjust my own, but took this to a professional - and it took him, with his assistant, 40 minutes to shorten! Even so, he damaged a link removing it. But other than that, great balance, great lume, and I love the bezel (the rotating part around the watch face, for those who arent watch freaks). by: hail_to_my_god_silly On: 2006-08-06
this is a good looking sturdy watch. All metal. The biggest problem i have is that its unwearable. The back of the case has sharp edges and everytime i move my wrist is hurts very uncomfortable, and down right torturous. Believe me im not exaggerating not worth a penny if you cant wear it comfortably.
I dont know what the company that made it was thinking, for a $400 plus watch they(company)could at lease have tested its design/comfort. Damn shame cause i like the way it looks thats about it for now. Yeaa its just sitting in the closet now collecting dust, since i wore it to work and cant return it cause i resized it to fit my wrist. O well hope this review helps. darren. by: Anonymous On: 2006-07-14
Received the Luminox Nighthawk as a birtday present from my wife and it has become my favorite watch without question. Watch looks great with a suit and as a casual watch. The watch is large but not heavy or clunky feeling (Im replacing a similarly sized Swiss Army watch with it)and is highly functional.
