For the price I cant imagine a better watch. It looks great and I love all of the features, especially the countdown timer. It doesnt scratch as easily as one review said and has exceeded my expectations. On: 2007-05-15
Case is heavy stainless steel. Though the description doesnt mention it, the bracelet is also stainless. It uses the same "stepping" movement from the early twincept watches - if it is half as accurate as those it will always stay synchronized with the digital part.
What the above reviewers said about the LCD background is true. It does not look like the picture (which is more like an illustration anyway). Like all other inverse LCD screens Ive seen, it is dim - but that is so the analog portion of the watch is the first thing your eye catches when it looks down. I was more worried that the LCD background would be pronounced to the extent that I would have to visually hunt for the analog hands, but this has not been the case, which is a plus in my book.
Also, the watch is not oversized, like so many "fashion" mens watches are. It is a sensible, standard size - like a Rolex datejust. If you want to wear a diver-size watch with a coat and tie, this would be a bad choice. On: 2007-01-27
I bought this watch because I was looking for a decent looking ana/digi that. The watch looks GREAT. Ive never had so many compliments on my watch: "thats a great/neat/sweet watch". Everyone is shocked to find out its a Casio when I let them inspect it.
Only problem Ive had is I find that it scratches rather easily, both glass and bracelet. Not so visible on the bracelet since it is metal, but the head of the watch is rather bulky so can sometimes catch on furniture/corners if youre not used to a bulky watch.
Pro
- Looks great
- Analog/digital (if thats what youre looking for)
Con
- A tad bulky (especially since it doesnt have an antenna like waveceptor watches)
- A bit on the heavy side On: 2007-01-09
Bought them as a present. Was a bit disappointed with the real look - not so shiny as on the picture. Plus the dial indicators were quite dim. Hopefully the friend liked them very much. Delivery service was perfect. On: 2006-12-24
I bought this watch as a gift for my brother who specifically wanted a better looking digital watch to wear to work. Out of the countless watches I looked at, this Casio was the best one (and its round twin) under $100. It has most of the desired features in a digital: alarm, stopwatch, timer. It also has a temperature meter but I wonder about its accuracy. In any case, the digital readout is very difficult to see in the light of day. At night, a push of the illumination button makes it easy to see. The band looks OK but is cheap rolled steel with no attempt made to polish/brush the sides to conceal that fact. All in all, a decent watch that stands out in looks compared to other budget digital watches.
