![]() Luminox Men's Ultimate Navy SEAL Dive Watch #8002 By: Luminox Average Rating: 4.0 Total Reviews: 8 More Information Low quality Much better products out there for less money. Not water tight, poor workmanship, very poor customer service, watch showed rust immediately upon submersion in water. Luminox 8000 series Dive watch Very nice watch. I have a Rolex and Tag, but have trouble seeing the time on these watches. This Watch is very easy to see, and expecialy at night. I fish a lot in the Atlantic, so I needed a tough watch. This watch fits the bill perfectly. I would not say it could be worn well with a suit, but for all other situations, it is very much a mans watch. Big, heavy and tough. Band looks nice, matches the watch style, but not same quality as watch. Clasp is a bit cheap. Dealer I purchased through was good. Quick ship. No issues. Would purchase again. My last watch I am a complete watch fanatic, to say this is my last is like trying to quit smoking. But this has been the best watch ever. I have never taken it off except for one thing which is to not scratch my wife. the night glow is like a night light for me when I wake to check the time. I have poor vision and the watch is the only thing I can see at night. The hands and face are perfect and easy to read. My only issue was the band it self, the link pins backed out twice but when I sent it back to Luminox they replaced the band and they also cleaned, replaced the battery and pressure tested it! The band pins worked out again so I went to Target and bought a black plastic divers band for eight bucks and that was the last of my problems. It also took about a pound of weight off! Every now and then I get the itch for something different but I look at the thing glowing away and say nah Ill keep this one! Leaks - would not warranty Have a Luminox model 211- When the watch was one month old went surface swimming in the ocean and the watch leaked and quit. Sent it back for warranty and they would not repair under warranty. Still fighting with Luminox. Do not buy for Armed Forces, they deserve better. Luminescence is great, but not much good if it wont work. Outstanding Once you get used to the LUMINOX glow in the dark ANYTIME feature there is no turning back to ANY other brand name watch. luminox Watch make a long story short, if you have about $300 to spend on a watch, this is the one to buy, it is a beast of a watch, tuff and durable and really awesome to wear. Ive bought dozens of watches in my time, this is by far the best. Dont hesitate, just buy it!!! You wont regret it!! It should have 5 stars ....... but its HEAVY!!! It will provide you with a continuous fitness excercise. Quality is supreme, night light excellent. Luminox - 8002 Wrist Watch Pros: Lighted hand/dial markers work well making it easy to read the time in low light or dark conditions. Large dial which is easy to read. Rugged Heavy Duty Case and Stainless Steel Wristband Construction. Have worn the watch for about 6 weeks and have yet to put the slightest scratch on the crystal. Looks like new. The glare free optical coating on the crystal works well. Glare is always low and often times, it appears that the crystal is not even present. Appreciate that no military insignia are on the face of the dial. While I am sure I would be proud to have served in the special forces, since I did not, I have no desire to pretend. Areas in possible need of improvement: Second hand points exactly to second hand markers which gives the watch one the impression of good mechanical quality. However, the second hand also wiggles off course momentarily somewhere in the travel from the 6:00 to 12:00 position (the exact position varies). It always comes back on course, but the wiggle detracts from the impression of mechanical quality. The bezel is very tight to turn. Gains about 4 seconds per month which I consider to be OK but not outstanding time precision for a watch in the price range. Very heavy for a wristwatch, which makes it slide around on my arm a little more than I would like, but is comfortable nontheless. Overall Impression: Good quality watch which I will enjoy wearing. I bought the watch for the luminescent dial/hands and was not disappointed. However, it not for this feature, I would consider other watches which did not not have the minor issues described above. |
