So far so good     On: 2008-01-03

Im very hard on watches, when I picked up this watch I was quickly impressed with how easy it is to see in the dark. Also this watch is build seriously tough. Three years now and my watch only has some minor scratches after all Ive put it though.

This watch replaces a Swiss Army diving watch that has been my constant companion for 12 years. That watch had tritium hands and numerals so that when I woke up many times in the middle of the night and needed to know what time it was to decide what to do to go back to sleep I didnt need to turn on the lights or find my glasses. I also swam in swimming pools and the ocean with it and used the bezel to time things like breaks at work and cooking times until I wore off the numbers. I thought my eyes were starting to go bad until I learned that the half life of tritium is twelve years. So these things are what I was looking for in a watch. This Luminox seems to have just about all of them. The night luminocity is great and the bezel function is great. Ironically the company recommends replacing the seals every 18 to 24 months- 12 months if you swim in the ocean or a swimming pool- to maintain water resistance. That seems funny for a diving watch. The Navy Seals must have a watch shop on base or just get a new one every 12 months. I never replaced the seals in the Swiss Army diving watch in 12 years and it never leaked. Overall Im very pleased with the watch and will just continue to use the Swiss Army watch for swimming as long as it keeps running.
Visibility is Good     On: 2007-04-12

This is my first Luminox. I wanted a watch that was visible all night long without having to push any buttons. This watch meets that test very well. The watch looks great and is polished well. There are no sharp edges on either the watch or the stainless steel band.

I had no trouble removing a few links from the band to make the watch fit my small wrist and used only a very fine screwdriver and a plastic handle of another large screwdriver as a hammer to drive the pins out. The pins came right out and went back in just as snugly. Arrows on the links indicate the direction to push them out and they go back in the reverse direction. The band is very comfortable.

I gave this watch a five as it appears to be everything it was advertised to be.
