excellent stuff     On: 2008-01-21

Since sometimes I really need to see time in a darkness, this specialized designed product is quite useful in such case. Thanks for this great idea and design.
Great     On: 2008-01-08

This is a very good watch. It is nice, heavy, and feels solid. The technology used to illuminate the watch is great and works very well in the dark. There is one problem, which is that the second hand does not land exactly on the hash marks. This does not matter because I really like this watch. The bezel is nice as well and clicks in fairly smoothly. The bracelet is good, although if you are not using a professional tool or visiting a watchmaker it will be hard to remove the pins. The case is solid and heavy, while the dial is very easy to read in any situation. I am definitely looking to purchase another Luminox sooner than later.

Luminox 8202 Watch     On: 2007-10-14

I am a self-confessed watch geek. Over the years Ive owned three Rolexes, an Omega Seamaster, a couple of TAGs and several Seikos and Citizens. I decided to spring for this Luminox primarily because it would be easier to read the dial in the dark and is water resistant to 200M (Im a diver). I am not disappointed. I cant attest to whether the dial is "100 times" brighter than a typical luminous watch, but it is MUCH easier to read in the dark and the glow doesnt fade after a couple of hours as it does on my Seamaster. The build quality and general finish are very high and the watch has a solid heft. It weighs in (according to a FedEx scale) at 5.5 ounces or over 1/3rd of a pound. Despite this heft, the watch is very comfortable to wear due to the wide (22mm) bracelet and could double as "brass knuckles" should the need arise.

Shipping from WatchZone was fast: I had it in three days. Since Amazon/WatchZone is not an an official Luminox dealer, the warranty is not through Luminox and they will not service the watch under warranty. The Amazon warranty is for five years, however, and hopefully makes up for this.

All in all, Im delighted with the watch. It looks cool (not some wimpy "dress" watch) is easy to read and keeps terrific time. In the two weeks Ive owned it Ive checked it every day with the time.gov web site and its dead on after two weeks. No complaints! If youre looking for a watch of this type, I dont believe youll be disappointed with the Luminox 8202.
A Tank of a Watch

Ive had this watch ~ 2 months now and its still growing on me. Its bold and in your face and the steel looks like something youd see on a fine handgun, beautiful. Ive never owned a watch of this size and weight but you hold it in your hand and it just feels indestructable. Maybe the heaviest watch Ive ever felt but if youre considering this watch you probably already know that.

Its already been surfing with me and dropped, no problems, of course. So impressed by the gas-filled luminous markers, 10x brighter than an "indiglow" style.

Pins are very tough to remove and finding replacements for bent ones is a task. Also a few of the black link inserts have just slightly worn to where you can see the steel underneath peeking through.

Overall, a very impressive, intimidating watch that has handled every mishap with ease. Highly recommend it to any looking for a watch of this type.
