On: 2008-02-06I bought this Solid 14k Gold Pocket-Watch for my Dad for Christmas - he absolutely LOVES it! It is Swiss Made, with a top of the line Swiss Quartz Movement. This guy wants to buy a used watch, its way up to him. But the value of this heirloom piece is immeasurable - to last a lifetime! Oh, and another thing: this company sells beautiful MECHANICAL movement sterling silver watches for a fraction of the cost! How much for a quartz pocketwatch?  On: 2007-12-22I really have to ask myself one thing - if buying this watch is the answer - what is the question? Sure - it has a gold case. And it keeps time. From a quality standpoint it is acceptable. But really - what are we doing here? For $2000 plus, you can buy a REALLY NICE watch with a genuine swiss MECHANICAL movement - brand new. Something to pass down to the next generation. Or even better - you can buy an EXCELLENT genuine antique watch - American or European - with a gold case - in near mint condition. Im sorry - but in terms of value received for the money compared to other options - this just does not seem like a good idea to me. |
