![]() Citizen Eco-Drive Men's 200 Meter Watch #BM6210-56E By: Citizen Average Rating: 4.5 Total Reviews: 10 More Information Be aware. Citizen may not back this watch if... I purchased the previous version of this watch over a year ago. Last spring I took my son out wakeboarding (he was in a wetsuit) while the water was still very cold. He injured himself so while wearing the Citizen watch I dove into the water to help him. Immediately water crept in and fogged up my crystal. Rust set in right away. I went to the local Citizen dealer and they sent the watch in for me. Citizen did not cover any expenses (I was out the shipping cost) saying that they do not cover this under warranty because were not supposed to go from a warm air environment to a cold one. When I dove in it was about 70 degrees outside and the water was about 55 degrees. Thats only a 15 degree difference. Be aware. Nice second watch Good alternative for a swatch - cheap enough not to make a difference if it gets damaged or lost. Accurate to 30 per month - mine tends to gain. Looks nice and feels solid. Water resistant so, no headaches when taken to the beach or having other unexpected aquatic encounters. No need for battery change until you decide to change the watch all together. Strong clicks for the bezel. The bracelet seems to be the weakest point - looks and feels nice but is in fact poor st steel - it accumulates a ridiculous amount of scratches out of nowhere, much more than any other watch that I worn. Would have favored a rubber band, but for this price and overall good quality of the watch, can not complain too loud... And btw, only the quartz movement is made in Japan, the rest is put toghether elsewhere, but again I dont really give a penny on that as long as it functions well! Worried about purchasing Online? I received my BM6210-56E Eco-Drive "Diver" watch. Although several of the reviews noted the watch crown/face to be large and "chunky", I did not find this to be case (partially because I am 6"3 245lbs). The simplicity of the face layout, masculine band, and stylish contrast of the white watch hands on a black background, etc. make this watch quite appealing to look at. The Eco-Drive mechanism seems to work perfectly. After removing the watch from the box, the second hand began ticking/moving in 2 second increments indicating the charge was low. I left the watch under my desklamp overnight, and the watch has been working perfectly since. According to the package insert, this watch is waterproof but not to be used for diving as indicated in the name of the watch "Professional Diver Watch". Interesting aside. Overall I am very happy with this purchase. Better than the picture I bought this watch for my son. He chose the style but was slightly concerned about it being a bit chunky and how much the red on the face would stand out but in fact its even better in real life than in the pictures. Lovely watch with a real feel of quality. My other son and I both have citizen eco drive watches of varying ages and we love them. Fabulous style, reliable and just solidly good watches. A great watch with great style This is my first Citizen, my first eco-drive, my first screw-down crown. The styling is fantastic. One of the things that is hard to see in the picture is that the center of the band is raised which gives it much more depth and interesting look. While the measurements for the case seem a bit large, the actual bezel and face are not super-sized giving the watch the feeling of having an open easy to read face. Some of the Wengers Id looked at just seemed humongous. It has kept great time in the month that Ive had it. The screwdown crown screws down to metal on metal which means you cant over-tighten. After a short break-in period, the uni-bezel rotates smoothly with a solid click. Its a little on the heavy side but the band feels solid. My only complaints are minor. The bezel uses a dot to signify the 0 position and triangles at 15, 30, and 45. My eye is drawn to the triangle more than the dot so Ive had to learn what to look for. Also the magnifying window over the date requires you to look at the watch dead on which is not a natural feeling. Its somewhat annoying in fact to the point where I wish it didnt have the date magnifyer. (I deducted a star for this reason) All in all Im very pleased and a month later, I still enjoy looking at my new watch. nice watch and a great price this is a nice watch and a great price easy to read and you can wear it anywhere you dont have to spend $1300 plus for a nice watch. This watch shows that your smart and have good taste Accurate solar watch! This is my first Citizen watch of this kind. I never realized how an Eco-Drive could be so wonderfully accurate. Its never deviates from internet time, to which I first set this watchs time when I received it. Its a solar watch so that means I dont have to replace the battery when it runs out and that, in turn, means that it does not have to be opened ever, unless of course in the unlikely event that it needs servicing. But I wouldnt worry too much coz if that happens, theres Citizens whopping five-year warranty. I also like the date magnifier part, the brilliant glow its markers at night, the four markers on the bezel, the tight but easy turning of its unidirectional bezel, and its brushed stainless steel case and bracelet. It has also managed to hold against daily shocks and hits at home, in the office, and outdoors. And also its rated to be waterproof to 200m. For lack of a better word: cool! by: Anonymous On: 2007-02-14 This Citizen Diver Watch is so beautiful and appears so durable. It keeps accurate time and its eco-drive feature is so reliable. I like the way its crown can be screwed down flush at the same level as the two protectors on its sides. The four metal parts on the bezel at 45 degree angles help in turning it. What I dont like is that its glass display is a bit protruding above the case which may increase the possibility of scratches, but then those four metal parts may somewhat serve to protect the glass. The cyclops date viewer is helpful but unnecessary. The watch itself is Made in Japan while the bracelet is (subcontracted?) China. The glow of the luminous markers last between eight hours though not as bright as other divers. I chose an eco-drive because I was impressed by the Citizen Eco-drive that someone has which has run flawlessly for years. Also the quality and craftsmanship of Citizen Watches are excellent that they can compare to my Tag Heuer watches. Yeah, and I agree that Eco-drives are more reliable and more maintenance-free than Seiko Kinetics. Eco-drive power systems will last for at least 20 years without servicing while kinetics need to have their capacitors replaced every five years or so. For lack of a better word: cool! My second Citizen Eco-drive in two years by: attiladhun On: 2007-02-07 This Citizen Mens 200 Meter Professional Diver Watch is my second Citizen -- my first is the venerable Citizen Skyhawk -- which so far appears to possess the three qualities I look for in a watch: durable, efficient, and dependable. If a fourth may be added, it is also ruggedly handsome like its owner. Ha! It is durable enough to take daily wear, tear, knocks, and bumps, and yes, even the occasional drop, which results in scratches though. Its eco-drive system is as efficient as my Casio Atomic Solars particularly the way it stores solar energy and allots it intelligently. Its accuracy is impressive with a daily margin of error of one or two seconds a day, using my Casio Atomic watch to measure. So far so good. Very nice watch This is larger & heavier than any watch that I have ever owned...when I first got it I was concerned that It might be too big, but now that Ive worn it for a month I have decided it is perfect. I am very hard on watches,(usually forget to take them off when working outside, moving rocks etc.)So far the crystal is like new, although the black trim around the dial has worn off slightly around the edges. Everyone that sees this watch gives me favorable comments, most people think it is worth 3 to 4 times what I paid. The Eco-drive feature is great...no battery,no winding. The shipping from the Amazon supplier was unbelievable. I ordered on-line on Monday, got tracking info on Tuesday, and the watch was at my house on Wednesday! |
