 Omega Men's Seamaster 300M Watch #2254.50 By: Omega Average Rating: 4.5 Total Reviews: 7 More Information wonderful, beautiful watch  On: 2008-06-08just got it last week after much anticipation. i have to say, the quality is just perfect. everything about the omega seamaster is flawless. its the nicest watch ive owned. i really recommend it. however you might consider waiting a few months, maybe end of 2008, rumor has it that the new models will have the co-axial escapement mechanism that requires less lubrication, which means that you can go 10 years before having your watch serviced. otherwise, with this model, you have to have it adjusted every 4 years or so, which costs a few hundred dollars each time. still, beautiful watch. when/if the coaxial version comes out i might trade it in towards that one. minor point, maybe. but the official description on this pages says the watch is "46mm or 1.61 inches" in diameter.and anyway 1.61 inches is not 46mm, its 41mm. i dont think omega makes a seamaster thats 46mm. its 41mm, the "gents size". 41mm On: 2008-06-08minor point, maybe. but the official description on this pages says the watch is "46mm or 1.61 inches" in diameter. i dont think omega makes a seamaster thats 46mm. its probably 41mm, thats the "gents size" on their website. and anyway 1.61 inches is not 46mm, its 41mm. I love this watch - a winner in all categories! On: 2008-06-01I had been eying the 2254.50 for a while before I bought it. I was a little hesitant because of the price, but as a wise man once said, "long after price is forgotten, quality lives on!" I couldnt agree more. I wear this watch 95% of the time, and I regret the days when I choose another timepiece to wear. The fit and finish of this watch is top notch, and I prefer this model over a Rolex Submariner any day (or other comparable high-end dive watch for that matter, none of which I actually own though I did research my purchase extensively - plus I borrowed a Submariner for a few days to compare). In summation, I will most definitely be purchasing another Omega if this watch is typical of their products overall. And if youre looking for a quality timepiece at an affordable price I hope youll do the same. Price is rising, buy now! On: 2008-04-20I bought mine last year for $1399. The dollar is getting hammered against the euro. So the discount price this year was retail last year. STILL WORTH IT. 5 Stars. With the exception of name recognition this watch is superb. To be honest I dont wear this watch more than 2x a month. I usually wear a Seiko. When I do put it on, what a treat. Immaculate details like a leather "made in Thailand" box and leather wallet for the chrono-certification and model/movement identification. I do wear it in salt water on occasion when windsurfing. In my opinion it looks better than a standard Rolex Sub. I do have a Submariner and its a toss up. When I wear the Rolex everyone things its fake anyway. Get it now!!!! Great watch, greaty Amazon deal. On: 2008-03-19I did a fair amount of research on this watch and decided to make this my first "above average" watch purchase. This thing is beautiful and I cant stop looking at it. Amazons deal was at least $300 below the jewelry store around the corners best price. The difference is that the warranty is done through Amazon instead of through the manufacturer. This appears to be the same level of warranty. Id like to recommend everyone to buy this watch, but I dont want anyone else to have it. Still a great watch after 3 years  On: 2007-12-08Its been almost 3 years and I still love my Seamaster. Since buying Ive gotten into watches and have looked at many watches priced within a few thousand of this Omega. I havent found any that provide the same value as these mid-range Omegas (The omega speedmaster line is close). I bought from an authorized dealer and I encourage you to do the same. After 1 year it had to be regulated (running 18 seconds/day fast) but Ive had no trouble since then. It keeps time within 3 seconds a day, which is pretty remarkable for a non-coaxial automatic movement. I would buy mine again in a second. Didn't last 12 months.  On: 2007-08-13The Omega Seamaster is a great watch, but I suddenly noticed that the crown was not screwed down tight. I cannot screw the crown down and it wobbles. This renders the watch useless. I called about the so called Amazon Warranty but it does not cover the crown or most other parts. You better read the not covered section of the warranty before any purchase from Amazon. Amazon says it is not covered by Omega because it was not purchased from an authorized dealer. They said to bad the watch still works and we dont cover the crown. AWESOME WATCH On: 2007-08-03I always been in the Omega club due to its reliabilty and ofcourse its looks. You really have to see it up close to see how beautiful it is. It definately gets you the attention from watch lovers. I noticed Tag recently came up with models that looks like this watch and with a much lower price tag. Keep in mind folks, when you compare both watches you will see the differences in its craftsmanship. You will see how far Omega goes on its reputation and its reliability. And for the value, there is no match. If you are debating whether you should buy this or not, go to a jeweler and take a good look at it and feel how heavy it is and so on... This particular model is a AUTOMATIC, which means you will have to wear it on a regular basis to get it wound. Hopefully this helps. |
