I bought this watch thinking of the reputation of Pulsar from 20 years ago. It is well built; a tank. Almost too much of a tank with the band as I struggled to remove the extra links so that it would fit my wrist.
On the downside, I did not research how the watch would be visible in a dark environment - the backlight does not illuminate the watch dial or hands. It only illuminates the small LCD window where the date/alarm/etc. is displayed. It would have been better had they put the equivalent of a nice Timex Indiglo(R) backlight in this.
Otherwise, I thought that this was an EXCELLENT value for the $$.
