On: 2006-04-30I am a budding WIS (Watch Idiot Savant) or watch enthusiast. I am learning a lot about fine timepieces every day. I ordered this one recently, and I think its a fantastic quartz watch for the money. First of all, for people who dont know, Hamilton is part of the Swatch Group of companies. They are part of the midrange group, which also includes Tissot and others. Hamilton is the only "American" brand I know of right now, and thats a fine thing if you want to be patriotic while also wearing a fine gem of a watch. The fit/finish of this watch is excellent. It uses an ETA Swiss quartz movement, so timekeeping is about as accurate as one can get outside of an atomic clock. Also, the rubber strap is very comfortable and will hold up to years of abuse. The only thing watch people might not like about this one is that it is quartz. Most enthusiasts prefer Automatic watches over quartz anyday. They arent more accurate, but they are much more complicated... Hamiltons a great watch company, and this watch keeps that tradition sound! |
