![]() Omega Men's Speedmaster Watch #3513.50.00 By: Omega Average Rating: 3.5 Total Reviews: 3 More Information Elegant and Sophiticated I wanted a watch that exuded elegance and sophistication without being overly flashy. This chrongraph exceeded all of my expectations. Looks nice but I would not recommend it I have had this watch for less then 2 years and it constantly runs late. I had to take it for an adjustment. I worked ok for two weeks and started running late again. The Omega repair person told me that it is normal for these automatic watches to fall beind 5 seconds every day!!! When you pay so much money for a "coveted Swiss watch" you would think it should do the one thing its supposed to do, show time, precisely - thats not the case. Also, if you buy this watch online you have to mail it in to Omega for repair. If you want to take it for repair to authorized repair center, you have to pay for the repair out of pocket. If you need a watch that never needs batteries get yourself a nice Kinetic Titanium Seiko. It cost 3 times less, its lightweight and always precise. I had it before the Omega and loved it. 3.5 stars I bought this because I was looking for an automatic chronograph whose diameter was under 40mm. (when worn 39mm and 40mm watches look very different. Though the difference in just 1mm, 40mm watches look much bigger than 39mm watches). There are better/better-looking automatic chronographs out there with comparable prices but they are too big to look like mine. Overall I am satisfied with the watch! Plus: 1. Good quality Omega chronograph fitted in 39mm case. The quality of Omega pieces is much better than Tag. Tag cant seem to make one automatic piece whose thickness is less than 14-16mm while Omega seems to have fitted the parts in 39mm/11.5mm thickness case. 2. Completely satisfied with the steel casing and the sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating. If you are thinking of buying 3. Bracelet is a very good piece of engineering. The lock and release is very well engineered. The bracelet has a link which is half the size of other links so that you can get a good fit on your wrist. Minus: 1. The seconds hand rotates only if the chronograph is on! This is very counter-intuitive and made me wonder if this was a manufacturing defect! (no, it is not a defect. That is how the watch is designed to work) 2. The illumination material on the minute/hour/second hands that allows you to read time in the dark is too little to read time comfortably. 3. If your wrist is hairy, the links on the bracelet pulls the hairs on your wrist. The pulls are so small and happen so less often they are almost negligible but it could have been better designed. (Bracelet design for Seamaster watches are better) 4. Amazon is good for selling books and music but seem to lack experience with selling expensive items like this. I had some trouble with the order and though their customer service has improved a lot they lack experience in selling expensive items like this. This watch if for you if you have a relatively small wrist but want to own (and wear) a good chronograph (and dont mind the Tachymetre scale). 3.5 stars I bought this because I was looking for an automatic chronograph whose diameter was under 40mm.
