After10 months, analog display stopped working     On: 2008-01-06

I was very happy with this watch, but 10 months in and the analog display stopped working. In reading other reviews here on Amazon, I see this happened to other buyers too. I am wondering if the battery is low, or if there is a function on the watch that lets you halt the analog action. There are functions on this watch that allow you to turn off part or all of the digital display. If anyone has any experience with this, I appreciate you letting me know. When it worked, it was a nice watch. The $80+ paid is a lot of money for only 10 months use when I have dirt cheap watches that last 4 to 5 years.
awesome     On: 2007-12-17

I am very happy to find this awesome watch....i have two of them just in case they stop the production of this model....
Very nice high tech watch     On: 2007-06-25

This is a great looking watch with all the features I expected. Compared to the very old "IRONMAN" watch Im replacing, this watch seems quite heavy, the alarm isnt quite as powerful and the backlight not quite as bright, but just fine with me and not a problem. This is a great looking high quality watch. Im really enjoying it and Im very happy with my purchase.
A TECH WATCH FOR TOUGH TECH GUYS     On: 2007-06-10

ANOTHER PULSER BEAUTY...I LOVE THIS WATCH...HI-TECH AND TOUGH...ALSO HEAVY.
very good watch for the money
by: Anonymous    On: 2007-06-03

For the money, this is one of the best watches I have purchased. Working in the airline industry, the time zone changing features are very useful. It also has a count down timer that actually gives you hours to countdown, unlike similar watches that will only count down from one hour. It is a bit heavy, especially if you have a smaller wrist. It is also not a small watch, my wife and I had our wedding on the beach, and I wore a short sleeve shirt......the watch is very noticeable in most of the pictures.....guys, dont do that....

The rubber band is great if you are going in the water a lot, and the alarm will definitely wake you up....

The mineral crystal, took a good beating, but eventually it will scratch. The buttons after plenty of salt and sand, will eventually begin to stick. But again, for the money, its been a very good buy. And it does have a background light, which is a negative on some citizens with the world time features.....
Good Watch     On: 2007-06-02

This is a very good watch it keeps good time, it water resistant, has many features that you want like stop watch, count down timer. World time zones and many many more.
Nice watch     On: 2007-05-26

My husband did a lot of research before buying this and really likes it. It came right away and we have had no problems at all with it.
Thick Pulsar     On: 2007-05-12

I was surprised about the thickness of watch when I had it in my hands for the first time. Although the watch sits nicely in your arm. I am happy with the special features of the watch.
Great time piece     On: 2007-04-16

Beautiful detailed and accurate time piece. I have a few watches and this is one I place ahead of all the others I have. Large face and can be read at a glance.
Love My New Watch     On: 2007-03-24

Ok let me be honest, never wanted to be a pilot(ok maybe a Blue Angel pilot), dont really care about all the functions on the dial; this watch just looks good! Love it! Reviews of being to big or heavy scared me a bit, not the case. This watch screams quality, Ive had several comments on it. Little confusing to set at first, but fine once you get the hang of it. Definitely love the watch for look and quality, backlight is fine when you need it. Very happy with my purchase!
Digital Died     On: 2007-03-21

I bought this watch about 7 months ago and had all the issues listed to some degree or anouther but all in all it was still a good watch for the price. That is untill 5 days ago when all the digital functions on the watch quit and then a day later went blank leaving me with a standard watch. But I guess you get what you pay for.
Excellent watch!     On: 2007-03-13

As a field engineer I have to work with tools inside machinery. More often than not I keep my watch and I have had several scratched watches in the past. So I was somewhat skeptical to wear a nice watch like this but the price seemed right to give it a try. After 9 months of using it daily, this watch has still not a single scratch. The quality is very good and it really looks better than on the picture.
Really Nice Watch     On: 2007-03-09

After a loooong time, i got my watch. I did read all the reviews about being heavy and too dim. Yes, I agree the digital display is dim. But i can always chek the analog time. Being heavy, i personally feel thats the way it should be. And for the price paid, this watch is really a gud one.
great watch     On: 2007-03-09

The watch is actually better than it appeared from the photo. One of the few times when I can actually state that something is an even better value than it appeared!
Functional and Value For Money     On: 2007-02-25

Due to my employment I travel extencively, this time piece has in the short time I have owned it forefilled all the requirements I require of a functional time piece at a very competetive price. I would recommend Pulsar as a manufacture to any body reqiring quality and style. At this moment in time I have 4 Pulsar time pieces that I use on a regular basis, 3 are working /daily use sports watches and I have a dress watch for when I am entertaining / partying. None of these watches have ever let me down, I have them regularly, serviced and new seals every time the batteries are changed, regular diving and swimming trips have never caused any problems. My one slight critisium would be the digital read out on this model is a little pale and could do with slightly altering the contrast, however it remains an excellent time piece - Highly recommended
For $70 you can't go wrong     On: 2007-02-23

I bought this watch for my deployment to Iraq as a stand-in for my Breitling B-1. Although theres no real comparison between the two for technology and quality of design and manufacture, I will say that the Pulsar is a reasonable substitue in the more austere conditions of Iraq. Its display is a bit dim as mentioned elsewhere but it is still very readable. The alarm is rather quiet. Other functions work as one would expect and I particularly like the one-time alarm function. It looks good on the wrist and keeps reasonable time. I recommend it, particularly with its low price.
Pilot Thing     On: 2007-02-18

i am studying pilot for now, i order this watch and i think it is useful to me as the flight computer with me all the time, and i dont just use it when i am in flight but also in the normal life, because it look too luxury watch and i like it too much.
Just what I hoped it would be - good value!     On: 2007-02-05

Ive had the watch for a week now and Im very happy with it. Both digital and analog time are exact to the second after a week (checked against Apple network time server). The watch looks good and I cant say Ive had a problem with the digital display - if it was brighter I think it would tend to be distracting. The slide rule looks good but I doubt more than 1% of buyers will actually use it. One small negative point I have noticed is that although the hands are luminous the hour markers arent, which makes things a little tricky in complete darkness - a silly oversight, hence 4 stars. Overall though, well worth the money.
Excellent for the price     On: 2007-01-30

You can pay hundreds more for the same product, but why? This watch has everything th emore expensive brands do, but it costs much less. It is not a cheapy either, it still has the Pulsar durability, and usefulness. Great buy!
Great Item Better Price     On: 2007-01-25

This watch is sooo worth buying, because honestly it is a very nice watch, has a bunch of features, and looks hella tight.
lend a weight to your wrist     On: 2007-01-15

it is time your wrists do all the talking. The Pulsar Mens TGFC Watch is here. Saddled with a steel finish and a black dial to match along with a black rubber strap, this buster is heavy. It combines sophistication with a ruggedness which presently only daniel craig displayed in casino royale. Lots of functions available for u if you get accustomed to how to operate that function. has a compass, is a calculator, can tell how much fuel your car would need if the distance remaining is 120 Miles and of course displays time also. analogue and digitally. Can light up in the dark also. Tell you it is a eye-ball stopper. Got some good tones for alarms. can adjust itself to cities and different time zones at the push of a button. So if your choice of a candlelight dinner with your dame is at the top of eiffel tower, this is for you.
Bulky     On: 2007-01-15

its a nice looking watch has alot of features only if you fly a plane or travel out of the time zone alot, you really cant hear the alarm, you cant see the features it in day light,it has a button the makes it glow for dark areas the only problem you have to hold the button in because once you let go of the button it goes out so if youre setting something you have to hold one button in while pushing another button. and the watch
is very bulky I keep banging it on things because sticks out, I took it to the pawn shop ( not to sell) to see what I can get for it and they wouldnt offer me anything for it they didnt want it but it is a nice looking watch for the price
Great watch...excellent price     On: 2007-01-09

I picked up this watch around the holidays because it is more sporty than my other watch. So far, Ive been wearing it almost every day. The watch face is easy to read and the digital time is a nice added bonus. The backlight feature is very nice as well and is quite useful. Overall, Im pleased and would purchase another.
Get used to using your backlight     On: 2006-12-29

Overall the watch is fairly simple to use. However the display is very dull(almost like the battery is about to die). The picture of the watch shown, shows a much brighter display, that is not the case. The Backlight does improve the ability to see the display but it could be brighter as well. This watch retailed for $235.00(maybe priced decreased because of display) and other than the LCD it is a great watch and made of high quality and easy to use.
Not Happy     On: 2006-12-24

I should have paid closer attention to the reviews. The digital display is VERY faint. Backlight isnt much better. The analog and digital displays are not synched. Watch looks great but thats it. Will be sending it back.
Disappointing     On: 2006-12-21

I purchased this watch because I very much like the digital/analog combination. I frequently use a digital for the stop watch function, for day/date, etc. I have seen and own other combinations where the digital display is just too small to read quickly. I liked the fact that this display is relatively large. Unfortunately, it is not easy to read because it is too faint. This is so even when using the backlight. Since the digital display was so central to my reason for buying it, I decided to send it back.
Pulsar pm7003 review     On: 2006-11-10

I liked the look and feel of the watch, but the strap is what irritated me. If not for the strap, the watch is a cool one.
Poor digital display     On: 2006-11-10

Attractive watch, comfortable, but digital display is too faint, out in daylight digital display difficult to read.
Excellent Wrist Watch with good features     On: 2006-11-10

I like this watch. I have really good features like two alarm, chromo setting, two city timing, two digital display one for time other for displaying date/month/day...

It is little bit heavy and I have struck on the edges of wall, bench or table many times as it is little big bigger than wrist watches I used.

Overall Great watch with cool features.
Pulsar Tech Gear PM7003 Watch     On: 2006-10-07

Ive owned this watch for about 2 months and think its great. Its a handsome watch, very stylish, and a great value. It has many useful functions that are easy to use. The dual analog/digital dial is very useful if you travel, as you can set the analog hands to local time and always know the time (and date) back home.

I wanted to comment on two criticisms of this watch that Ive read in other reviews on Amazon. First, that it is too big. I agree that it is big, but not "too big". I have an small-to-average-sized wrist, and it doesnt seem big to me -- because I wanted a substantial timepiece. I suggest that you try it on before you buy it, as I did, to make sure youre comfortable with it. Second, that it is hard to read. I agree that the digital time is faint unless it is reflecting a light source, but that is clearly intentional! If it were brighter, it would be even harder to read, as the face would be too busy with the bright white analog hands and the bright digital display. If you want to see the digial display under bad light conditions, all you need to do is to hit the backlight button, and it becomes very easy to read. In any event, the substantial analog hands obscure the digital display by necessity. It seems to me that if you want a digital display as your primary display, this is not the watch for you.

Great features.. Way too bulky..     On: 2006-09-15

All the good things people mentioned are true. Nice features, digital + analog, gives current time for 71 cities or more. But its only good to look at this watch in the pictures.. If you dont care a heavy and bulky piece of equipment hanging on your wrist, then probably you could buy it. There are better options for the price I believe. Think again. If you are buying this as a gift for someone else, Then either he is big or you just want to buy something in a hurry. Dont do it.
The Pulsar Men's Tech Gear Flight Comp Watch #PM7003     On: 2006-08-30

Hi there,

I love this watch the quality and style is immensely brilliant. I enjoy the overall workmenship although the LCD is somewhat low nevertheless, I can still read the numbers and enjoy the many functions it has to offer. The overall craftmenship I rate highly it does not have that kinda cheap feel you get on an average $85.00 watch this item was a steal (I am still wondering why it was sold under its true retail price of $235.00 but WHO CARES). Shipping was impeccable as specified it came on a timely manor. THANK YOU GUYS!
pulsar flight computer watch     On: 2006-08-05

this watch is totaly unreadable and should be withdrawn from the market.
Great Watch.     On: 2006-08-05

This is my favorite watch. It looks so much more expensive than it really is. Only problem is that the hourly chime is really low.
One of the best watch that I ever have     On: 2006-07-25

The watch is cool, if you like big watch. Works great and the digital analog combination is great.
nice watch - abit hard to use     On: 2006-07-13

Maybe I have grown used to using Casio wathces, but I find this watch difficult to use and set. The watch looks good I have been complimented on it, it is hard to use the various features.
Too Heavy and Big     On: 2006-07-10

I usally like a big sports watch on my hand. Wow.. This is too big and heavy. It has got some good features, but the weight of the watch outweighs the good features.

The band is not at all flexible and it was not strapping around my hand, but was choking my wrist on two sides. Intolerable.
For a Rolex and Omega Owner this watch can't be beat!!!!!     On: 2006-07-02

I orginally bought this watch to give to my son who is going away to college to help him get to classes on time. He said his cellphone had a clock already so I kept it for myself. I have a Rolex Datejust with a gold and steel band, an Omega Seamaster with a stainless steeel band, and a Smith & Wesson tactical watch with a black cloth and velcro band. As a resident of Marthas Vineyard I wear the Rolex for business occasions, the Omega for casual occasions, and the Smith & Wesson for swimming (the flat black finish and black band wont attract "predators".) But for fun I wear the Pulsar. My youngest son runs cross country and track so I use the chronometer to time him. As an engineering student who was forced to master the use of the slide rule in the pre-handheld calculator days I use the E6B rule for math, and the rest is just for fun. The reverse LCD black dial accents the hands and yellow markers at the four points of the compass, and the LCD data is easily readable in my office or on the track. I even prefer the rubber strap to steel as it is less flashy (Id wear the Rolex or Omega for that) and fuses seamlessly with the watch body itself. For $75 plus free shipping its like theyre giving them away.
Beautiful Watch but hard to read     On: 2006-06-27

I just received the watch yesterday and I am returning it today.
Its a very nice watch, very stylish with a substantial feel to it.
One problem, the digital display is quite dim. Even in bright light, it was challenging to read. I thought maybe it was just my vision. However I asked my wife and she had the same problem.
Okay so maybe a middle aged eye sight issue but an issue none-the-less.
I got this for functionality, then looks. I dont consider having to move the watch around for optimal viewing very efficient.
Once again, I wish I didnt have to return, as it surely was a beauty!
It's more than I had expected.     On: 2006-01-04

This is a great little watch for the price range. As much as I would love to drop $5K+ on a Breitling that does the same thing as this watch, for the price, this watch gives you everything you need and more. Besides, with avgas prices, Id rather use that extra money for flight time. Anyway, I digress...This is a good solid watch with some hefty weight to it that cries out durability. The most important feature of this watch is the E6-B on the bezel, which is a must-have for any pilots watch. It took only a little bit of getting used to how the E6-B is arranged on this watch, but it doesnt take much to adapt. The only drawback, if you want to call it that, is where we would be used to seeing times expressed in hours and minutes along the innermost ring, its absent on this watch. But thats really no big deal. One the goodies in this watch includes having all the worlds timezones, whereas with analog pilots watches you can only have maybe one or two other timezones displayed. I have mine always showing UTC underneith the local time analog hands. It has the chronograph, timer, one alarm, and calendar included. Its not the most expensive watch in the world, and it wont break your budget. I tend to be rather hard on my watches, so having something really durable is a must-have. It IS a big watch, so small-wristers be aware. Its also a HEAVY watch. Its stainless steel casing and everything thats packed into it gives it a good heft, and you can definitely feel the weight on your wrist.
