On: 2007-04-11If you love gadgets this is your watch. It is undeniably cool, what with the hands whizzing around the face at a mere touch of the sapphire crystal. I looked at the other T-Touch watches, which are also excellent gizmos, but I realized that I didnt need an altimeter, barometer, temperature gauge and compass since I really dont do serious mountaineering. I am a frequent traveler, though, and a watch that instantly switches between 5 time zones, has an alarm and a backlit display and can go snorkeling sounded perfect. It is stylish and functional and I can recommend it with some caveats. It is very bulky, one half inch thick. There is a big learning curve and it can be frustrating to set. The instructions are cryptic but here are two hints: 1. You cant set the time in the T-World mode, only swap out the time zone. Once youve swapped the time zone you adjust it in the current time zone mode (tap the center of the face 3 times) 2. Dont try to manually adjust the watch hands in "Synchro" mode... just dont. Since its a pain to create a new time zone, I would have liked to have had 6 or 8 to switch between instead of 5 (all zones are programmed into the watch but only 5 are displayable at a time). If you can jump these hurdles you will like the watch. Once youve figured out the setup it is easy to operate and you will wow your friends. Eat your heart out, James Bond. Tissot review  On: 2006-08-14This is a wonderful watch although the world time feature really is useless and very difficult to set. I enjoy wearing this watch as well as the orange Tissot T touch I have. Awesome watch with GREAT features!!! On: 2006-04-15This is the best among Tissots line of "Touch Screen" watches. Touching the sapphire crystal in various locations open up the WORLD TIME, CHRONO, TIMER AND ALARM!! The Navigator 3000 is basically a travel watch. That said, it allows you to track multiple time zones simultaneously. The watch comes with 150 cities pre-programmed. But, you can manually add a custom city. Also, all of the 150 preprogrammed cities have DST setting up to the year 2099. If you create a custom city, you can manually configure the DST settings too. It has a chronograph and timer. And, whatz more it has a cool red-color electro-luminicient LCD display. Unlike the regular green or blue lights found in other digital displays, this red color is quite charming and and cool. Even the font style of the digital display is very unique! It also has 2 alarms that can be programmed for specific times on specific days of the week. And, if you dont intend to use the watch for a while, you can put it into the economy mode. The LCD will go blank, and the hands will indicate 6:30. You can reactivate the watch by pressing the crown for two seconds. The crystal is made of sapphire. So, it is superbly scratch-resistant!! To summarize, this is a GREAT BUY!. It has all the functions one expects out of a digital watch and much more. TISSOT rules w/its innovative touch screen technology. I love this watch and you will, too. Buy it to see what I mean... |
