![]() Pulsar Men's Watch #PXN021 By: Pulsar Average Rating: 4.5 Total Reviews: 6 More Information Outstanding Watch At A Great Price A local jeweler has been recommending this watch to me for years as his best seller. When my son, who is a nurse, needed a new watch a couple years ago, I gave him this watch for his birthday. He works nights and needed a watch that is waterproof, has a second hand, and is visible in low light environments. He loves it. When I recently broke the crystal of my current cheap watch, I ordered this one. Though I havent had it long, I am extremely satisfied. Its not a fancy timepiece, but it is rugged, highly functional, extremely accurate and makes a great everyday/work watch. I was willing to pay the retail price if necessary, but saved nearly $50 through Amazon. A deal hard to pass up. An excellent watch at any price. I got written up for being late for work. I bought this for what Railroad Approved means, accuracy and a clean watch face. I prefer the stretch band for work. I set this thing a month ago to Atomic Time and it hasnt lost a second. Pulsar is owned by Seiko. Buy this thing. OK but.. I have a similar quartz watch, a seiko sq100 with screw-down crown, that I have worn almost every day since 1992 and apart from 3-4 battery changes has never missed a beat and rarely needs adjusting although the day/date can be a bit fiddly to properly re-set. But the seiko has hardly any luminesence left, so the pulsar looked promising in that respect and it is also not the size of a dinner plate, like a lot of current watches. However, the lumibrite only works to illuminate the watch face for an hour or two after charge-up during which time it functions like a torch, lighting up the whole watch face. After that, the whole face becomes a sort of vague glow - the contrast with the hands and numbers isnt enough so that you can see the time clearly in the dark, maybe the paint on the hnads/numbers isnt thick/dark enough. Other than that, the 24hour red numbers are slightly out of alignment. Maybe the watch was marked down for these reasons, but it is still a solid second watch. This watch is the next best thing to Sliced Bread! I purchased this particular Pulsar watch model in order for me to be able to know what the DAY and DATE is and ALSO because it had the luminous dial on it. I needed to be able to see what time it is in the dark. This watch has EXCELLENT nite time viewing. The WHOLE dial glows in the dark and you can see what time it is without any problems. I also like the screw down crown feature that this watch has which makes it water resistant up to 100 meters. I have showered many times with the watch on my wrist without any problem. This watch is also very accurate. Mine only lost -5 seconds in 1 month. I recommend this particular watch to everybody. A beautiful, tough as nails, functional watch This watch is probably the best quartz watch that I have ever owned- bar none, including Seiko watches costing 3 to 4 times as much. Its accurate to the second, of course, and has taken all kinds of abuse (beach, ocean, tennis, white water rafting, etc.) and still looks brand new. The watch has a screw-down bezel that really remains water tight, even over time. (I have had this watch for about a year.) The face is clear and glows in the dark incredibly bright and for a long time. The only problem I have is with the 24-hr markings on the face. This gives 3 rows of numbers (see above picture) and makes the face appear a little less clean than it could be, but it has not detracted from my joy and confidence in this watch! Great Watch This is a highly functional, no-nonsense watch. It is very accurate and has a clear, easily readable illumunated dial, with 12 and 24 hour and five minute interval markings.
