The first one came broken out of the box. The automatic mechanism was shut. It went twice for repairs in the 1st year and they never got it right. It runs fast and time needs to be adjusted every day. Since I really like the look and feel of this watch I decided that the 1st one was a "lemon" and ordered my second one. I had it for 2 weeks now and it will run perfect for few days and then decide to speed-up by 20 minutes at a time! Ive never seen a watch do that before! ORIENT automatic watches are totally unreliable! I sent an e-mail to ORIENT customer service on the subject and they did not bother to send any reply. If you want to waste money, this is the best purchase you can do. Otherwise, DO NOT BUY ORIENT!!! Orient quality, excellent price, and absolutely not mainstream. We all know that Orient produces really terrific timepieces--and at this price, you just cannot go wrong. -First, I own the white version CEM58004WW The Movement inside is Cal. 469---quite accurate. A window at the 3 oclock hours reveals the automatic day and date calendars. In addition, the day of the week can be changed quickly with the quickset push button changer. The date is also quickset. Crystal type: Scratch resistant mineral crystal. Water-resistant: 50M (most web sites agree). -Also, the watch is very large--larger than most (case is 43.5mm in diameter, 58mm in length, and 11mm thick). -Also, the case is solid titanium---and the bracelet is titanium roll. The whole watch is so very light in weight, but still has enough weight to let you know that it is there. In addition, with the size, you and everyone else will notice it is there. The watch is equipped with a slide-rule, which allows for multiplication/division, currency conversion, as well as distance conversion. A slide-rule function on other watches can be quite costly. In keeping with the military theme, the markers are labeled with military time---and each marker is luminescent. In addition, the bracelet, a titanium roll, holds very nicely, completely brushed titanium (this helps cover scratches as opposed to high-polished). The bracelet has a double locking, fold over clasp for added security. Also, the bezel is nicely-engraved as well as are the slide-rule control and the time control. The back is a solid case back. It is certainly a unique timepiece! Angelis Watch Geek Good quality watch but time keeping is poor I purchased this watch at a fair price and the construction of the watch has a good quality look. But, the time keeping mechanism if poor where it advances one minute an hour. So in a 24 hour period, the watch will have advanced close to 30 minutes. The watch is very light with the titanium construstion. |
