I totally agree with the first review about how breathtaking this timepiece is. So I wont go much in detail.
This thing is probably the largest sapphire crystal and MOP dial ever produced by anyone. It is the first ever COSC timepiece offered from Invicta. By doing so, we all now have access to highend product at the least amount of money. COSC or certified chronometer means that your automatic timepiece movement has been tested for its reliability and accuracy according to Swiss Watch group (Controle Officiel Suisse Des Chronometres) standard.
It might be big for many of you. So if you like something out of ordinary and want to stay away from usual crowd, this is a piece for you. If you are still attach to retro or usual classic look and size (usually not more than 38mm case size), then forget about it.
Last but not least, look around for the best price offered around the internet. I paid $899 for it. Once you get it in your hand, it will be tough to take it off. On: 2005-08-08
I recently purchased this watch and I am very impressed. I have always liked the way the Lupah looked but could not get myself to buy one because I felt like it was a shame that such a beautiful watch had a quartz movement. Dont get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with Quartz. As a matter of fact, my other watch which is a Charriol Columbus Chronograph is a quartz and I wear it a whole lot. Personally, I felt for a watch that pretty it needed more. They were all about looks and not much else until this beauty came along. When I saw this one, I had to have it. This model is the first Lupah ever made with an automatic movement and not just any automatic movement. It has the highly regarded ETA Valjoux 7750 automatic movement with 25 jewels which is used in brands such as Breitling, Baume et Mercier, IWC, Panerai, Chronoswiss and a whole lot more. You get the idea. The movement is also very nicely decorated in rose gold. On top of that, it has been certified by the COSC in Switzerland, which makes this limited edition watch a Certified Chronometer rather than just a chronograph. Basically, the movement went through 15 days of rigourous COSC tests under different positions and tempratures and passed all the tests and therefore certifying it as a Certified chronometer. Only watches that have passed the COSC tests can be called chronometers.
It has a beautiful genuine Mother of Pearl dial which changes colors when looked at from different angles. For you who dont know what Mother of Pearl is, its the white substance that surrounds the pearl when you open the clam which is very exotic. The colors I have seen so far are green, blue, red and pink. The stock photo does not show well the true color of the dial. It looks solid white in the picture but it in reality you see many colors along with the white depending on the angle you look at it from.
It also has a genuine alligator strap. The alligator strap is made from large grain alligator skin which basically means it the skin from the belly of the alligator which is the most expensive part of the alligator. Many other gator straps are made from small grain skins which are little pieces from the sides of the gator which are stiched together and are a lot less expensive.
It also has a Sapphire crystal on the front and the back which is near impossible to scratch compared to the more scratch prone mineral crystal. This is also another feature used by many expensive brands. You can also see the movement through the Sapphire glass on the back of the watch and what a beauty it is to see. Like I said earlier, it is very nicely decorated with 25 jewels and finished in rose gold and has swiss made and swiss certified chronometer stamped on it.
The bottom line is get this watch if you can afford it. It is, in my opinion the classiest looking watch and now that it has a highly decorated Valjoux 7750 movement in it as well as being an Officialy Certified Chronometer, you cant go wrong. You will be proud to wear this piece of art.
