 TAG Heuer Men's Formula One Watch #CAC1110.BA0850 By: TAG Heuer Average Rating: 4.5 Total Reviews: 16 More Information Great Price, problems with service  On: 2008-06-26I bought this watch from Amazon in 2005 for a great price. Was very pleased with my purchase. I knew then that Amazon is not an authrized re seller and they would offer their own warranty for 5 years. I also checked that certain things like the crown and strap were not covered under the amazon warranty. These things are also not covered under the original TAG warranty one would get if the watch was bought from an authorized reseller like Jared. Fast forward to March 2008 and I realized that one of the buttons operating the chronograph was shaky at the crown. This not being covered under warranty I took it to a TAG store to get it fixed on my own accord. Here is what I found...Since this watch is bought from Amazon its unique number is not present in the TAG database. Every time a TAG dealer has to order a spare part for a watch , it can only be ordered against the unique number. Based on the unique number a spare part is sent to the service shop which matches that watch exactly. There are variations and so the spare part is not generic. So as per the TAG service center I am stuck with a watch that I can only send back to Amazon.....and maybe they might be able to repair the crown....not sure...DILEMMA!!!!!!! This Tag Heuer is a beautiful watch and jewelry piece. It serves the purpose of fashion and necessity. It will justify his need while camping in Yosemite State Park this summer. It will also serve a purpose of style while he is in the classroom at college. This watch will very well take him into adulthood. All in a manner of smart class and great taste. This watch was a gift to wear on weekends, when he goes out fishing on the boat, but now he wears it to work too! He got many compliments on it and he enjoys showing it off to his friends. Betst bet from amazon On: 2007-10-05This watch will carry a warranty of 5 years from maazon which is plus point for buying from Amazom. The stand warranty is just 1 years if you would have bought this from anyone else. Best watch I have ever purchased. On: 2007-06-01I have owned mine for close to 8 years and I am amazed at the amount of abuse this watch has been able to handle. This watch has been taken scuba diving, traveling around the world, been in steam rooms, saunas and is rarely taken off, even for sleep. The titanium body and band show only a few scratches and the crystal has absolutely none. I have replaced the platic bezel once (purely cosmetic), replaced the batteries twice and I took it in once because one of the cronograph hands wouldnt line up correctly. Tag Heuer reparied the cronograph hand for free. My only complaint with this watch is the cost of the batteries. Each time I have replaced the battery it cost around $75 at a certified local Tag Heuer dealer. I probably could have gotten a battery cheaper but I prefer the peace of mind in dealing with an authorized dealer. Other than that I couldnt be happier with this watch. The workmanship is excellent, the style is a subtle evolution from the Kimi Raikonnen model it replaced, and instructions are fairly easy to understand. My only quibble is that the warranty should be longer than 2 years, but other than that, its certainly a must-have! Great gift! Great watch On: 2007-03-27I have owned it for over two years now, abused it in every possible way, hit it with carbide tools from time to time and no a single scratch. It is a great buy, at a great price. Highly recommended. Go Kimi, show them what a ferrari can do. NOt even a battery change required. Ive had hard knocks with many different hard surfaces, but there isnt a single scratch on the face. ALso, ive been scuba diving in the ocean with it (dont think it was more than 60 metres ever though), and it handled the dive without problems. Not convinced yet? Kimi Raikkonen, the brilliant Formula1 driver (ex-Mclaren Mercedes, presently at Ferrari) endorses it! Seals the deal for me! watch review On: 2007-01-20The watch is great!! My husband loves it! Tag Heuer F1 Chronograph On: 2007-01-09My reason for the low rating is the condition in which the watch was received from Jewels Warehouse. 6 weeks after lodging my complaint via Amazon and with the company direct no communication has been received back which means to me they cannot be bothered with after sales. I would definitley purchase from Amazon again, but not Jewels Warehouse purely based on the condition of the watch and the non existent after sales service. Just exelent...!!! No coments at all. Sports and Elegant Watch On: 2006-11-10Im a fan of watches, this one is Elegant enough to be wear with a Tie and have a sports figure enough to wear it with t-shirts, so no problem for a business meeting, or for a volleyball game. The only think I miss from this one is no tachymeter is present, so you cant see the average speed you are going between milestones. The TAG Heuer people say this can be submerged deep in ocean, so you can dive with it, but I dont want to put it on salt water just because this is too elegant and nice for me. It is worth the money.
