A very nice watch     On: 2008-03-30

A couple of my friends have Skagen watches & I liked the look of them so I picked up this model 233XLTTM. I wanted the date and some numbers so that is why I chose this model. It is very thin and the band is very nice. I do not understand the other reviewers who have had trouble with the clasp, as this has a double clasp so there is really no way both clasps could come unclasped or ever fall off. Maybe they do not realize it has a double clasp (one goes over the other one). This is just a tad thicker and the diameter is a tad larger than the one without the date which my friends have. The date is pretty tough to read, as the numbers are pretty small ....but I do not use it for that very often so not a big deal for me. Personally the ones without the numbers look a little more dressy, and are a little bit thinner. But for the money here at Amazon, these are hard to beat.

I bought this watch for my boyfriend, he loves it. The watch goes with everything, casual and dressy. The watch is very simple and understated. The watch is great for guys who typically do not wear watches. I say that because it is thin and light. We both love the band it makes it very comfortable to wear and easy to adjust. This is the only affordable watch I could find that was titanium. Titanium is awesome because it holds up well, is strong, light, and maintains a great look. The watch looks amazing. I orginally bought this watch at a department store and then I found it on Amazon pretty much for half price. I ended up saving 70 dollars so that was great. My boyfriend loves his watch and he feels like he was spoiled but really I just got a great bargain. Skagen is also a great company. I view Skagen as the most affordable brand for what you get. You can always find a good watch from them but for a fair price as well.

An older Skagen watch. Same Swedish style, same ultra-thin body. Great price.
Bought to replace a similar, newer Skagen titanium watch whose crystal had cracked. Didnt notice any bump against the watch, but the crystal cracked, which is the first time Ive ever had that happen, including with about 4 other Skagens I own. A problem with the Skagen thin design? Well see.

Nice looking watch. Is not exactly accurate, loses a few seconds a week.
Was originally a doubter of the mesh band but it does look a lot better in person.
if you wear your watch upside-down, don't buy this     On: 2008-02-06

I wear my watches upside-down, with the face on the inside of my wrist. I could not go longer than 3 hours or so without the adjustment knob popping out and stopping the watch. Looks great, but at that point, its just useless jewelery.
Great casual, every day watch!     On: 2008-01-28

This is a great watch to pair with every day casual clothes. I just got this for my husband at Lord and Taylor. They have it on their website, but it is on clearance at the store so if you live near one of their locations, go check it out.

My favorite aspect about this watch is the charcoal/titanium color. It is so much more subtle than your typical shiny stainless steel, and it is more durable than a leather band. Skagen is a great quality watch, compared to Seiko. So go to the Lord and Taylor website and check it out in more detail, you can also sign up for a L&T charge account and save an extra 10%. Definitely worth a trip to the local store though if you live near one. They are under new ownership and they have introduced so many hot new designers and expanded their mens collection. This is not your Grandmothers Lord and Taylor, they have new lines by Energie, Paper Denim, Cynthia Steffe, and the classics too, like Ralph Lauren and Calvin Klein. Check them out.

Feels like I'm not wearing a watch     On: 2007-12-24

I wanted to get a titanium watch because of a skin allergy triggered by a watch with a stainless steel back. I usually got leather bands because metal bands were heavy and uncomfortable. When looking at titanium watches, this one appealed to me because of its thinness and the fact that reviewers said the mesh band was comfortable. Let me tell you, the watch and band are extremely comfortable. I dont get any allergic reaction, and the watch and band are so thin and light that it feels like Im not wearing a watch at all! The band was easy to adjust to exactly the right length, and its very easy to put on and take off. I havent had any instances where it came off by itself; the safety clip works well.
Extremely unsatisfied with quality     On: 2007-11-26

As a customer who purchased this Skagen Mens Titanium Watch #233XLTTM I am extremely unsatisfied with the quality. I received the watch on October 26, opened it on November 5 and wore it just for 1 day.

The following malfunctions occurred in a single day use:

1. The glass of the watch cracked from exposure to cold weather (~ 30 F);

2. The "titanium" material the watch is supposedly made from scratches from contact with almost anything including plastic;

3. The locking mechanism gets stuck and does not unlock;

4. The dial has a reflection which interferes with the arrows making it hard to see what time it is, especially at artificial light;

5. I got bleeding scratches on my wrist from the watchs wristband after 8 hours of use.

Considering all of the above factors the performance of this watch is unacceptable. Certainly this item is not a high-quality item described on the website, which is list priced at $130.00.

I bought this watch as a gift for my boyfriend. He loves that Skagen watches are so thin and light weight. This one is no exception. The true test will be how much he actually wears it.
Broken pin     On: 2007-11-15

Had this watch just three days and the pin that joins the strap to watch has bent. Was not dropped or maltreated. Seems to me that all the pressure is on the middle so is bound to distort whereas if this "collar" was longer would be impossible to bend. Pity otherwise very smart.

I love the watch. Second Skagen watch i have owned. The only problem is that the clasp on the band gets loose after about a year, but there is a quick fix. Call up the skagen people and thy will send you a clasp right away.
As far as the looks of the watch...i get comments on it all the time. And it is very light weight and comfortable to wear.

There was a fiber sealed under the glass. Presently, the watch is at Skagen where they are to remove the thread. Other than that the watch is light and sleek. The clasp is easy to mess up at first if you dont think about it for a second, but it gets the job done.

This watch seemed a bit different than other Skagen watches that I have had or looked at and seemed a bit cheap looking. The pin holding the band on broke off after only a couple weeks. Although it keeps good time, it not a great watch. Next time I buy a watch I think I will want to see it in person.

This watch is very lightweight and thin, just as I wanted. Keeps perfect time, and I have not had any issues with the band, as some others have noted. I have gotten several compliments on the look of the watch, and it is extremely comfortable to wear. At this price I will likely buy another in a different finish. In fact, the only thing preventing me from giving the watch 5 stars is that I tend to bang my watches into things frequently, and the case seems to scratch easily.

Very nice watch. Titanium mesh very attractive and durable. My only concern is that the black face plate is hard to read in poor light. Regardless I would recommend this purchase for a formal, casual, appearance.

A stylish beauty with a clean, modern look. Its very thin and the mesh bracelet sets it off nicely. Ive gotten many compliments on it. The clasp was a bit tricky...but once I figured it out, its works just fine and is secure. Im very pleased with it and it just cant be beat at this low Amazon price. Nice going Skagen! I am very pleased with the Skagen Titanium watch. I purchased it as second watch to wear while playing golf. It is very lightweight, attractive and has a very solid clasp mechanism. I could easily wear it for business or dress-up. At the price, it cant be beat.

There are gaudier watches, more expensive watches, and watches with more funtions but if you want a watch that has a low profile, looks great and is rugged and masculine look no further. I had no problem adjusting the watch band and I am happy as a clam. I paid $65 dollars delivered from Amazon and in a nearby mall it was $130 dollars. (full list). In short ,,,buy it!

This watch looks great and fits nicely under the shirt sleeve. My only concern is the latching mechanism. I lost my last Skagen watch when the latch popped open, and it fell into the lake.

The damage caused a piece of the metal band to protrude which kept getting caught on my shirt until I bent it in with my fingernail. Luckily the damage isnt too noticable because it is near the clasp where people wont usually see it.
The watch is still useable but hopefully it wont happen again or get worse.

This is a very classy watch. Thin and streamlined it cuts a nice line. The crystal fits the body flush which makes for a clean line but because it is flat it reflects any light making the time hard to read and distracting. There is no backlight so this watch is very hard to read at night but it looks so good you dont mind.
All in all it is a great watch, very sleek, quiet and the band is very nice. Highly recommend it.

This is a great, minimalistic watch geared towards those looking for a watch as a fashion accessory. Ive received numerous compliments on it, and its slim profile and neutral color make it go great with literally anything.

Ive had this for two months now and have yet to see any scratches appear. The timekeeping is accurate (or at least accurate enough that I havent had to change it yet, except for DST). The double clasp is also very easily adjustable and holds the watch on ones wrist very well.

You wont find a better image-conscious watch for this price.

I ordered this watch initially as a gift for someone, and when I received it, I loved the look and feel of it so much that I quickly ordered another just for myself. Its a very sleek looking watch, very lightweight on your wrist, and the price on Amazon here is at lear 40% below what I have seen it go for regular retail price in the more upscale stores in the malls. I intend to use this watch for special occasions as I believe it will complement dressier attire.

This watch is nice, but the quality is questionable: after two months the glass crystal cracked while I was sitting at my computer. Skagen would repair the watch, of course, but I have to pay S&H ($8.95 one way)! So I am still deciding what is chipper - repair this watch or by another.

This watch is quite nice and makes a fashion statement on any arm. However, the band leaves a little bit to be desired. While it is an attractive band, it is not as functional as expected. It does not wrap around the arm securely without turning a bit sideways and showing a bit of the end of the band. While this is not a severe problem, it is not 100% acceptable.

As usual with Amazon it shipped quickly and was half price of the expensive Dept. stores. I love everything about it and have recieved lots of comments about it. The only negative thing I will say it is hard to read day and night.

P.S. It is also very quiet....I have had it for a month and now just listened to it to see if you could even hear it tick.

This watch looks incredible. The case is solid titanium and the mesh band is tiny stainless steel links infused with titanium. It really can go with anything. You could wear it with khakis, jeans, a suit, pretty much anything because the color is so versatile. If youre looking for a quality watch, that looks good, and for a really good price well look no further.

I called Skagens customer service, and they told me that this was a common problem with this watch, and that if I sent it in, they would replce it with a stronger crystal, for free. (Of course I had to pay shipping and handling both ways, which came to about $20 total). So I sent it in and got it back good as new about a month later, which was fine. But then 10 days later, it cracked again!!! I assure you that I wasnt wearing the watch while playing sports or doing anything that would cause it to crack. I looked at my watch, went into Banana Republic to buy a shirt and then looked again and it was cracked. Stay away from this watch.
