I can twist!     On: 2008-07-06

So the transmitter that comes with the heart rate monitors is awful. Its fine if youre just running, but as soon as you twist to one side, the darn thing pops off. This transmitter stays in place when Im leaping around like a lunatic, I love it! Its also easier to keep wet.

The only issue I have, is that Ive been using it for about two months now and for the past few weeks, I dont know if its the watch or the transmitter, but it takes an awful long time to pick up my heart rate and itll drop in the first few minutes too. Once I get a little sweaty, its fine, but before then, I dont know whats going on.
A great replacement to the original     On: 2008-05-25

My original coded transmitters battery died, and I had to find a new transmitter. The Polar WearLink Coded Transmitter feels more comfortable since its less bulky than the original, and the best thing about it is its replaceable battery. I highly recommend this to anyone looking to replace their original transmitter.
Very Comfortable!!!     On: 2008-04-29

Works perfectly with my Polar F6 Heart Rate Monitor watch and definitely more comfortable than the T31 & T34 transmitters.
WAAY better than the original chest strap     On: 2008-04-09

This chest strap is way more comfortable than the older version. Its actually wearable, and it fits pretty well. I bought the XS/S, and it is small indeed! Im very little, and I would only have an extra inch or so to let it out if I were any bigger, so be careful there. This model is a definitely improvement. If youre using the older, plastic model-- UPGRADE!! Youll be so much happier.
Great for the Gym     On: 2008-01-28

I have a heart rate monitor I use with my gps when I run outside, but I needed an option for the gym when the weather is bad. Im loving this. Because its stretchy its more comfortable then my regular one. Its awesome to get my heartrate at the gym without having to keep my hands in one place (a girl has to wipe sweat off once in a while), and also some equipment doesnt read well. This solves all of that, if your gyms equipment reads Polar, as mine does.
Replaceable battery an improvement     On: 2007-12-27

I had to order this replacement transmitter when the battery in my old one wore out. The older model transmitter did not have a replaceable battery, so this to me is a great improvement. Ill be interested to see if its water-resistant enough to keep out moisture from perspiration.
Great transmitter     On: 2007-04-11

This is much more comfy than the band that came with my heart rate monitor watch. I strap it on and the equipment at my gym picks it up. Im very pleased. Im a 59 woman and weigh 145lbs and this size is right at the edge of being too small. Id say it was a perfect fit.
Fantastic!     On: 2007-03-25

I bought the WearLink chest strap to use with my original Polar Heart Rate Monitor. I cannot believe how great this chest strap is. It fits perfectly. Its all fabric/elastic strap fits perfectly -- it hugs every contour and moves with me -- never losing contact, so I dont lose my HR read, even while doing planks or push-ups, etc. Its like another piece of clothing. And ... you can change the battery yourself. It works with all Polar models. I am thrilled with it!
A lot More Comfortable and Less Expensive in the Long Run

One big improvement from the original transmitters (T31 or T61 transmitters) is that with this model (the Wearlink) you only have to buy a new battery and replace it once they ran out and your transmitter is ready to use again. With the original ones you have to buy a new transmitter every time the battery dies, since the whole structure is sealed. So if your Polar wrist watch came with the T31 or T61, wait until the battery is finished and buy the Wearlink transmitter instead, you will save a lot of money over the years (compare the 39.95 US$ that the T31 or T61 cost vs the cost of a replacement battery).

The other big advantage is that the Wearlink transmitter is more confortable to wear, since it adapts better to the shape of your body since even the electrodes are flexible and are embedded in the fabric. Being flexible and all makes it easier to storage it your pocket when your finish training or if you are traveling.

In summary a great product for your Polar HRM, and a smart improvement if it is time to replace your old transmitter. Dont buy another T31 or T61, buy this one instead.

I run with my Polar six days a week, and probably train about ten hour a week with it. I used to have the T31 with my first Polar (the M61) so I can tell you first hand the Wearlink is far better. In summary more confortable, easier to wash, and a money saver. I was more than happy to trow the old one away after I bought this one.
