I got this watch as a gift for someone whos a big fan of Movado watches, and he absolutely LOVED it!!! He said its even better than he thought itd be. As for me, I thought the box was really impressive. Its a real nice gift altogether.

Amazon is great. The prices, the quality of the merchandise, the communication, honesty, and their return policy.

Weve purchased several big ticket items from Amazon and we have been thoroughly satisfied. They are the Real Deal when it comes to low prices and name brand merchandise.
great     On: 2008-01-24

got it as a Christmas gift for my day and he loved it! it works perfectly.
Brilliant Watch!!!     On: 2008-01-14

This is an excellent dress watch!!!!. Besides the fact that is a MOVADO, you almost forget youre wearing it cause is extremely ligtweight.
One of my best buys!!!
ALMOST perfect     On: 2008-01-06

I am pleased with this watch. Ive wanted a Movado for a long time and this one is certainly affordable. I was a little surprised at the size of the watch face, its small for a mans watch. It is not 37mm as advertized, it 33mm.
The leather band JUST fits on the first hole, and I have small wrists. Men with mediam/large wrist wont be able to use this band. Over all it a keeper, looks very nice.

Bravo Movado!     On: 2007-12-29

This watch was a gift for our sons 21st birthday. He is very technical and loves modern, clean, contemporary lines; this watch fits the bill. He loved it and called all of his friends to tell them about it. They commented that "we were rich" (for getting him a Movado), thanks for the great price Amazon!!!!
Wort buying it!     On: 2007-12-24

Its very elegant. Wont hole your wallet :-) I gifted a Movado set to my friend on his marriage. I think Ill buy one for myself too.
P.S. I found same watch model at a store in a Shopping Mall. They were selling it for $450!!!
Excellent price - quality relation     On: 2007-12-24

This was really a good quality-price relationship. Because I am on Europe (Spain) they charge me the VAT (IVA) ahead, but information was accurate and the process was fast.

Product shipping was ok, and overall preception of the watch matches with my expectations. Not luxury such as a Gucci or Piaget, but good choice for a second watch. Nothing to do with cheap & funny Swatch.

Only compaint was related to UPS. They went on strike on Spain, and finally my wife had to pick up the mercancy at theirs store 15 days later than its arrival to Madrid.

Absolutely the best value     On: 2007-12-15

I wanted a Movado for nearly two decades. The look was perfect but the price wasnt. Recently, Amazon had a sale and this watch was finally within buying range. Looks great. Runs great. Everything is so great my wife now wears the Movado.
Excellent buy     On: 2007-11-19

Got this from amazon @ 175.00. Checked many sites but none were offering it below $200.00. It looks great, feels great and makes me feel important!! :) Definitely eye-catching.

There is significant satisfaction that comes with owning the Movado. It is accurate, attractive and compliments both formal and casual attire.

A Movado for less than $180!     On: 2007-05-30

Theres really not much to say about this watch. Its a Movado. Its beautiful. And its unbelievably priced on Amazon at $179.99! The cheapest Ive found this model in other stores was $225. Some other famous retailers sell it for around $300. I bought this as a gift for my "Best Man" at my wedding. I like it so much, Im buying one for myself.
Very pleased     On: 2007-03-08

I got the watch very fast and I am very pleased with the quality and appearence of the watch definetely a good deal!
incorrect size     On: 2007-02-24

ad did not give correct size of dial-had to return it-it was smaller than advertised

Movado Men's Watch     On: 2007-01-05

I purchased the watch as a birthday gift for my husband. It arrived in time and he was very pleased with it - he has been wearing it ever since! It is of good quality. His main comment is regarding the strap clasp which presents a problem in that the stem is not long enough to stay in the hole - it may not be as heavy duty as the leather band. Also, the battery has already had to be replaced after 3 months usage.

matches expectations     On: 2006-12-20

I knew what to expect and it was delivered in great condition. I want to emphasize that I am particularly empressed with the customer service... It is very personal and they really see you as a person, not just as a customer. That makes a difference. I had a light argument with them (they didnt inform me it took them longer to get the item and I absolutely had to get it before the end of the week)... so they really did something - they investigated, they replied promptly... I was really pleasantly impressed. I just started to work on my MBA and in the courses they often bring examples from Amazon... and yes, the company really works well, Good job!! (I am not even sure whether I am happy more with the watch or with the amazon service:-))
Cool watch     On: 2006-11-22

It is a good and nice time piece. It looks expensive and catches the eyes. The setback is the watch is for dress only. It might not fit when going with casual clothes

Covers up my shame     On: 2006-03-30

I purchased this watch not only for its style and value, but also to cover up an embarrassing secret I have kept hidden from everyone except my wife.

I was walking down the sidewalk one afternoon, dressed in a fine suit and coat, on my way to a meeting. A woman at a bus stop asked me for the time as I was passing by. I looked down at the jeweled, name-brand Swiss timepiece I wore on my wrist and immediately began to panic. The dial began to swirl in my vision and the gold hands seemed to spin uncontrollably, pointing randomly to the chicken scratch numbers that meant nothing to me. You see, I am illiterate, and never learned to read either letters or numbers; my watch was merely a fashion accessory. My wife made sure it was set to the correct time every morning, but I relied on my secretary and others to make sure I was at scheduled appointments. I stood in a cold sweat, staring dumbly down at my wrist. "I think I might have missed my bus," the woman explained, "What time do you have?" I panicked and blurted out, "I think my watch is broken." I shook my wrist and held my watch up to my ear for added emphasis. "Really?" the woman asked, "May I see it?" I was trapped. I couldnt refuse her, so I offered her my wrist. She looked at my watch, saw the smooth sweep of the second hand, and said, "Why, your watch is working fine." I could only stammer, "Ummmm..." "And its 3:45, so I havent missed the bus yet. Oh good! Thank you very much!" I smiled meekly, mumbled youre welcome, and continued on my way. I could feel the burning gaze of the woman on the back of my head, and my face burned with shame and humiliation.

I vowed then that I would never let anything like that happen to me again, so I went to all the fancy watch shops and jewelers looking for as abstract a watch as I could find. I found many crazy watch designs, but nothing befitting a man in my position. I almost gave up the search and resigned myself to a future without watches when I saw an ad in a magazine for a black and gold watch having a single gold dot on its face. I rushed to my wife and asked her what the ad said and where I could find such a watch. She told me it was a Movado, found an on-line seller, and purchased it for me. The watch came within a few days and was everything I needed: sleek, stylish, and most important, barren of numbers. The only marking on the face was the famous gold dot at the lunch position.

Now whenever someone asks me the time, I simply show them my Movado and tell them, "Here, your guess is as good as mine." Not only does this save me from possibly revealing my illiteracy, it also often gets a laugh when my questioner sees the nearly blank watch face. Because of Movado, I am able to wear a sophisticated, stylish watch despite being unable to read time or anything else. And I also want to thank my wife for typing this review for me.

I must say I am very happy with the watch purchase. My husband bought me the same style womens watch last year for my birthday which was much higher, so I was glad to see the watch was authentic.
revisiting the movado watch ...     On: 2005-12-05

i hd a version of this watch many moons ago, and have just ordered another. i don/t i don/t think the previous poster gets it. if i need exact time, i can use my cell which is in contact w/ an atomic clock. i hope *not* to live my life so precise.

there are a few paragraphs in proust where he laments the coming of trains, because suddenly everyone has to be on time. i hope i never get stuck back in that way of thinking. if i can/t be a few minutes off (or, for that matter, remember to arrive early), it/s probably not worth it. the movado *is* jewel, but one w/ a function. but casually.

eagerly awaiting ...
A thing of beauty     On: 2005-06-28

This is an incredibly beautiful dress watch, and richly deserves its place in the permanent collections of art museums.

On the other hand, this watch supports the theory that the "dressiness" of a watch is in inverse proportion to its functionality. This is the opposite end of the spectrum from the Breitling multi-dial pilots watches with the slide rule in the bezel and the Suunto X9 GPS watch (extremely functional, but just doesnt go with a tuxedo).

As handsome as this watch is, it doesnt even have hour markings! It tells you roughly what time it is, +/- 5 minutes or so. To be fair, it seems very accurate, but the lack of markings means no precision (if it says noon, it is noon and it doesnt seem to gain or loss time, but you cant distinguish what minute it is).

On the whole, a lovely piece of jewelry, but of only marginal utility as a timepiece.
