When I opened its green box just said WOW (like vista, but far better!) its beautifulest than pics! Im already use a Tag Heuer, but this watch could be my first choice sooner. Love that watch On: 2008-07-13I love this watch. it is easy to read, comfortable on my wrist and I will never have to change a battery. Good, solid watch w/o all the bells & whistles  On: 2008-07-12This watch is very comfortable to wear. Its so light i often forget i have it on. I also enjoy being able to wear it into the shower, because it makes it easy to give it a quick cleaning. Ive never needed to pay any special attention to making sure it gets enough light. The glow in the dark hands and dial markers are very bright and easy to read. The only down side is that you have to reset the date after a month that has less than 31 days. This is because the date dial just counts up to 31 every month. However, setting this is very easy and takes just a second or two to do. Im very happy with the watch and suggest it to any man who wants a simple, comfortable, stylish watch. Stately, Modest, Accurate On: 2008-06-21When shopping for a timepiece, I look for quality without ostentation. This particular Eco-Drive fits the bill with a demure face and the features that I want. The Eco-dive system means I wont have to go searching for a battery for the the life of the watch, an activity that I find strangely onerous. I also took advantage of next-day shipping on this item, so I would not be excessively out of time. Amazon came through with flying colors. Very satisfied On: 2008-05-25Nice watch with solar battery. Nobody walks with magnifying glass seeing that you cover in the hand My favorite watch On: 2008-01-09I love this watch. Ive had two, lost the first one from my pocket and the second ones strap snapped after I rolled down a hill (dont blame the watch Im like 300pounds, it was a big hill and I was well, smashed). Im about to buy my third, this watch fits the contour of your wrist really well, tapering in to your wrist at the edges. Oh, and the solar thingy means you never have to change the battery. Combine that with the fact that its really light and looks great dur to being totally made of titanium...could be the perfect watch. A previous reviewer commented on not being able to change the date at certain times...umm...never noticed this over the 4+ years of owning this watch (my second one is currently strapped together with super glue and kevlar thread...looks awful but I love this watch!). Oh, and I paid the equivalent of $320 (160GBP) for the two I had...so this price is amazing! It looks even better when you see it. The picture doesn't do it justice. On: 2008-01-08Im very pleased with this watch. It will be interesting to see if it will ever "die" and need a direct recharge (under a lamp) as Im often in dark areas. Keeps perfect time (checked against cesium beam clock). Salt resistant and takes big punishment in industrial environment(scratched and smashed the heck out of it without ever popping a link). Nice and light(about half the weight of the equivalent steel watch). Bracelet style so it doesnt stick to your wrist. Eco drive is perfect. Ive worn this watch for 70+ days straight, 24/7, without ever exposing it to sunlight (I work on submarines). Kept perfect time. Fantasic Watch On: 2007-10-18When my trusty 10 year old swiss army came up missing from a hotel room in Rome, I looked for an automatic or eco watch for several weeks. Wanted simple numbers, readable date and luminescent hands and hour markers - not all the other junk! Also wanted clean lines. I found this watch for the price of most stainless, battery powered watches. The titanium is great looking and light. Couldnt have designed a better watch. You wont be sorry if you buy this watch. nice watch On: 2007-10-17It is a nice watch easy to read ,the band can pull hair at times. It came very quickly and in perfect condition. The watch looks better in real life than in the picture. The center section of the band is mirror-like shiny and the outer edges have the brushed metal finish. The beauty of this watch is its simplicity. It tells the time, day, and date. That is the most a dress watch should tell you. I like to have the day and date on my watches since I wear them to work and I cant afford to mistake what day it is. Its not a perpetual watch, but its no big deal adjusting the date five times a year. The time is easy to read and with my farsightedness, that is a very important quality for a watch. The band is on the stiff side, which I like, but if you want the band to fit perfectly to your wrist, you may not like this band. My wrists are small, so after adjusting the band at a jewelry store, there are spaces between the band and my wrist. Dont get me wrong, the watch doesnt move around, it is comfortably snug on the parts of the band that do touch my wrist. I kind of like the watch even more because of the band. It looks like the watch should be sliding all over the place, but it appears to be suspended in mid-air without moving. This is a great watch at a great price! Great watch! On: 2007-05-14I like this watch from the day I got it. Till now I dont see anything wrong with watch. I was looking to buy this watch about a year and finally went for it. Very good choice On: 2007-05-07Excellent for its technology. Higher than expected time accuracy. Relatively small - contrary to the currently stupid fashion. A reasonable watch for a gentleman. On: 2007-04-17This was my first watch that was over $100 dollars. I was just getting into watches and wanted something that looked great and would stand the test of time. This watch is beautiful. The polished look wont last forever if worn daily, but even when battle-scarred this watch still looks classy. I love that battery replacement is pretty much a non-issue with this watch. Its titanium design makes it so light and comfortable that you might forget you are wearing it. The dial window is pretty resilient, but I would not test that too much. This is for the most part a dress watch. I also have an Invicta Abyss automatic diving watch that I wear occasionally, but I dont wear it nearly as much as I wear my Citizen. My Citizen is my favorite watch of all time. Its versatility and longevity have impressed me in the three years that I have owned it. I recommend this watch for anyone who wants a beautiful watch that is dressy and still practical for most daily life. I always get compliments about it also. This watch is a good buy. Best watch I've ever had On: 2007-02-14My girlfriend bought me this watch. Its design is great, and whats better, its super light (titanium hooray!!). I think no country other than Japan can produce this kind of watch. Citizen, you rock! Beautiful time piece that scratches easily On: 2007-02-13I have owned this watch for nearly 3 years now, and it has been wonderful. It looks great, I have never had to replace the battery (according to Citizen, I never will either), and it keeps perfect time. The clasp is very easy to operate and it fits very well. It is definitely the lightest watch that I have ever owned. I only have 2 gripes, one small, one could be a killing point for some people. The small gripe is that the crown (used to change the time/date/day) is a bit difficult to pull out to the correct position to move the date (for months with less than 31 days). You have to pull it only halfway out (pulling it out fully will allow you to set the time), but it has a tendency to go past that to fully out or fully closed. The larger gripe is that this watch scratches VERY easily. I use the computer everyday for extended periods in my job. Because of this, the bottom of the band has been scratched considerably on my desk which leaves dark grey marks on my desk and scratches on the band. I have also scratched the metal part of the bezel just by bumping into something. Titanium is nice and light, but probably not the best metal for a watch, especially if you plan on wearing it on a daily basis (even in an office environment). Cards Fan On: 2007-01-11The watch is great, after reading parts of the manual I found there is a low power indicator. When the second hand moves two seconds at a time the watch is low on power. I do like the watch, I have two other watches that need batteries ... they are sitting on my dresser (still needing a battery). I would highly recommend the watch it is a very good value, worry free (no battery to replace) and I think it looks great. The hour and minute hands are large so they are easy to see. Great design and style, some functionality issues.  On: 2006-11-28The watch obviously looks nice and the links have a nice, unique design. Unfortunately I have had terrible issues with the pins between the links. There are multiple links that wiggle out throughout the day and I have to shimmy them back in all day long. I tried having this issue addressed with a jeweler but it didnt last. This is the kind of issue I would expect from an inferior watch, perhaps one well under 100 bucks. The watch does not get exposed to much sunlight as most of my weekdays are spent inside the office or home. But it has not lost its power so far, looks like it will work fine with tubelight exposure. BAD: 1. The watch band pulls my hair. It really gets into my nerve when I am driving or immersed in my work. 2. It would be nice to have some kind of battery power indicator. 3. No perpetual calendar. You have to change the date once for every non-31 day months. And you cannot change it from 9pm to 6am something like that. Weird. Will not buy it for $275 original price. Not very stylish, very tight on my 8 inch wrist. Very nice watch On: 2006-02-18I got the watch off Amazon for a birthday gift and I must say Im impressed. It looked good in the picture here, and it looks even better in person! I read about the arm hair pulling problem and I dont have any problems but thats probably because Im only 15 and Im Asian so my arm hair isnt exactly long so I have no answer to that. My arm is only about 2.5 or so inches wide so Im skinny needless to say, and the watch still fits me fine after removing some links. Time is accurate from what I can tell, but I had a little trouble setting the date, wouldnt turn past Thursday at first though I got it to by fowarding the time to the next day. I dont know if its a problem or not since I havent read the guide yet. Another thing Im impressed by is the fact that this watch is solid titanium. Even in the middle of the links. Many cheaper watches are hollow inside the links, but not this one, its solid titanium all the way through. As others have said, the markers really are very bright in the dark, I tested it in a completely dark room and I was able to tell the time with no trouble at all. I would recommend this watch for anyone looking for a stylish watch thats not too pricy. Its great for everyday wear so dont hesitate if you think its too formal. If I, a 15 year old thinks its not too formal, it probably isnt :). Hope this helps some of your decisions. It was beautiful to look at but hard to read because of the busy dial and the very low contrast digital LCD subdials. I returned the watch and bought the Corso. Two things about this watch attracted me: (1) the light weight of the titanium case and bracelet, and (2) the easy-to-read dial. I can quickly and easily read off the time, date, and day of the week on this watch. With the Skyhawk, this wasnt possible without reading glasses. The bracelet deserves special mention. It does come with a locking pin, and it integrates nicely with the watch case. The titanium finish of the bracelet is unusual. Parts of it are in a brushed/matte metal finish (typically seen in titanium watches), and other parts of the links are highly polished. This makes the bracelet very attractive, but I am wondering whether the titanium bracelet might actually be a combination of stainless steel and titanium. I was not impressed with the quality of the piece and returned it. I found this watch a week before Christmas and am soooo happy with this purchase. My boyfriend is a little picky about his watch but LOVES this one. It is very light but still feels solid. He can actually see what time it is in the dark (which was one of his "must haves"). He also loves that it never needs a battery. He complained a little about it pulling his arm hairs but it has not stopped him from wearing it. He has never owned a metal band before and so will probably get used to it. The links are hard to get off for resizing (per the lady at the watch shop). She told us to be sure not to lose the little springs that come with each link. This watch looks great for both dress and casual. I would recommend this watch to anyone. I like a quality watch with few frills. It should look as if the band and watch flow together. This watch is very comfortable, and so light that I forget that I am wearing a watch. The watch is very high quality, looks great, and the dial glows brightly all night. I love this watch On: 2005-07-06I was looking for solid, practical, good looking, reliable, accurate and styled watch. I preferred light, water resistant and something fresh in design. I found these all in this watch. Before adjusting the bracelet I waited to check the accuracy and water resistant features. After two weeks it is off by 1-2 sec from etalon clock(on my computer) unless computer clock is off by itself. I was swimming in the pool with the watch and I love the lightness and feel of titanium case and bracelet. I have no problem with arm hair pulling off by the bracelet as mentioned in some other reviews even though I had this problem with other bracelets. I think the watch is excellent choice in up to $150-$200 range, epically when it sells for even less in Amazon. Beautiful watch On: 2005-05-10I bought this watch because it looks good. But when I got it on my wrist, WOW! Its spectacularly light and each of the tick marks actually has two sections on it, this means each of them shimmers as you move the watch! Additionally, this is the first non-lit watch that I can actually read with NO light. The effect of the luminescence lasted about an hour and a half. I have about three more watches that claim to be visible after the lights go off, but this is the FIRST to actually make good on that claim. I just wish I had waited a couple of weeks to buy it, I could have saved about thirty dollars. Simple, functional and graceful by: Anonymous On: 2004-06-30 Just got this watch yesterday. Its really great. The titanium makes it really light so you wont get tired of wearing it as opposed to steel used in many other watches I tried. I work on computers quite a bit and a heavier watch would have gotten in the way. Also, I dont like the complicated dials that most watches have. This one is simpler but elegant. It has time, day and date and is water resistent. The strap does not pinch hair on my hand as have some of the other watches that Ive used in the past. It also has eco drive battery that charges from light and does not need replacement for the lifetime of the watch. I just love this watch. |
