Excellent!     On: 2008-04-22

I love it!

I love it for several reasons, but the main reason is that its very light but still metallic. I hate heavy watches, but this one is light as a feather. And I love metal straps because they are quick to put on. And then I love it because it has both a digital and an analog face and has the great range of usual functions of a digital watch.

To me Casio embodies inexpensive and reliable watches. If you lose it, its not gonna kill you. In fact I have several Casio watches all over the house so I never to look for one when rushing out the door. In fact, they are so reliable that my $20 Casio watch from 15 years ago is still working.

The only negative I have about this watch is that its hard to change the time. In fact its so countertuitive (press A five times???) that Ive had to open the instruction manual in order to change it, and with DST this year coming at a different date, Ive had to manually change it, and its no fun, especially the analog hands which you dont have a knob to wind, but have to advance it digitally.

But overall, my verdict is that Casio is reliable and cheap, and there are hundreds of styles to choose from.
Looks good, but no instructions on adjusting strap size     On: 2008-01-07

This watch seems to have all of the things I was looking for, especially a repeat alarm so I can log my activities during the work day. Unfortunately, I cant figure out how to adjust the (metal) strap to fit my wrist. I called Casio Customer Service, and spoke with a nice lady who assured me she would send me the neccessary instuctions via email. That was over a month ago. I guess I should call again...
Get two of them.     On: 2007-12-20

I love this watch, Bought one in Puerto rico 4 years ago, after it broke due to wear and tear of my floor sanding job, I got on amazon and bought one with a black face instead of blue. If you are the type of person that likes to have something that not to many people have and look cool than this is the watch for you. I used to teach drivers education and the students would comment on how good it looked Dont worry about if it fits or not, just take it t walmart and they will adjust it for free. Plenty of features, read the description by Amazon.
Matched me well.     On: 2007-09-09

It is thicker than I originally had through the product pictures but didnt end up having a big issue with that. Also, The silver ring around the glass (plastic) does look a bit cheap, would have been nice if it matched the band. I specifically was looking for digital but with the analog silver classy look, for the price this was the one. I started to notice when I need to know what time it is I look at the digital and when I want to know how much time I have left (till the hour and such) I look at the arms for quick reference. Getting it fitted cost me $5, but I then realized I could have done it on my own with even just a push pin.
Good Watch     On: 2007-06-27

Nice watch. Looks like a fancy, expensive watch for a low price. Comfortable and many useful functions. A great buy.

Casio Full LCD Analog Digital Display Watch AQ160WD-1BV

I have been very happy with this watch. At this price I wasnt sure of what I was getting and I did see a couple of critical reviews. After some initial confusion about how to set the watch - Im not as quick as my grandchildren with all the digital controls - I was able to figure everything out. Now I seldom take it off. I have never had a watch which kept such accurate time.
A so-so dual time watch     On: 2007-04-27

I bought this watch because it looks similar to the Seiko Sportura watch. The quality is much lower, the background display is gittery at times and while its fine for the price, its cheap. So you get what you pay for (again!).

For the money its not a bad product though.
Casio AQ160WD1BV     On: 2007-03-08

I do like this watch very much, it has all the information you could need to see in a simple glance.

My only complaint is that you have to angle the watch to just the right degree to see the digital numbers with enough contrast. Its an LCD display so the contrast varies based on the viewing angle. Also the color iin more of a beige than a green (as it appears on the picture).
cheap and good     On: 2007-01-13

It was $30, it works as advertised, and taking a link out of the band wasnt very difficult.
I love this watch!     On: 2007-01-04

This watch looks classier than a typical digital watch. I find the subtle digital display perfect for how I use it. It doesnt compete visually with the analog display, avoiding the busy, cluttered and geeky look of some analog/digital watches. It is therefore perfect for a secondary display, which is great for a dual time setting or to show the current time on a 24 hour clock (useful for some of the places I visit.)

A neat feature: you can set the light to automatically go on when you tilt your wrist up to look a the watch. This is great, for example, when in a dark movie theater.

A pet peeve: the stopwatch only goes up to one hour, then recycles (with the minutes starting from 0 again). I much prefer stopwatches that, after they hit an hour, shift from showing minutes, seconds, and hundredths of a second to showing hours, minutes and seconds.

Still, I like this watch so much Ive been tempted to buy a second one in case the one I have breaks. A great value for the price.

Good watch     On: 2006-12-22

Watch is quite good. Only problem is its big dial which I think is not much suitable for a person with small wrist.
Almost a five, But great for price     On: 2006-12-02

Pros: Its an excellent watch, great alarm, chronometer, and count down. Also great looks and light!!

Cons: Easy to scratch, plastic face, plastic body, but excellent metal risk band.

Overall: For that price and all what it does!! Is just fine!!!

Good value for functionality and looks. Beware the plastic face.     On: 2006-11-28

I needed a functional, good looking yet expendable watch - and this one fits the bill.

Pros:
- Great functionality. Does pretty much everyting I need.
- Looks pretty good.

Cons:
- The contrast of the digital face is very low. Difficult to read the digital numbers during the day except under fairly strong light.
- The face of the watch is a plastic - not mineral glass.- a material that seems to be as soft as cheese and scratches extremely easily. If you get this watch, as soon as you unpack it cover the transparent face with a protective film you can replace. Funny enough, 3M Shipping Tape works great for such purposes - so I use it for protecting surfaces of cell phones, IPods, etc.

All and all - a good value.
Very impressive

The watch is very beautiful, very good construction and light it doesnt seem for a cheap watch, it looks like a very expensive one. Definitely an excellent buy.
Not bad for the money     On: 2006-08-07

The watch looks more expensive than it costs. Its nice to have both digital and analog displays. The digital display is actually quite subtle, so someone looking at the watch from the side wont notice it. The watch is fairly easy to learn how to use and has a lot of useful features (time zone, alarm, stopwatch). Also, keep in mind you will have to get the band adjusted somewhere, which can be rather pricey (we paid $12). We gave the watch only 4 stars instead of 5 because the face scratches rather easily.
Great Casio Watch     On: 2006-06-24

Well after having my Casio Twin Graph for nearly 26 years...yeah, thats right I bought it in 1984! I like that watch a lot. It still works, but the alarm and function beeps are really soft now. That watch also had a combination analog and digital display with dual time, timer, stopwatch, 5 alarms, etc. and I wanted another watch with the same or similar features. The only thing with the old watch was that it didnt have a light to tell time in the dark. The cool thing about that watch was it was totally LCD...no moving parts.

But, this watch is great. Its everything the old watch was and more. I really like the EL backlight. The white analog hands over a negative LCD display is really cool. If you do decide to get this model get the metal band as resin bands will break after a while. My Twin Graphs resin band broke in less than a year.

The only thing I dont like about this watch is the plastic function buttons and, to a lesser degree, the plastic part between the case and metal band. I think metal buttons wouldve made this watch a real knockout and I wouldve paid more for that. Still though its a great looking watch with a lot of useful functions.

I bought it here from Watchzone which had fast shipping and the best price online.
Cool watch     On: 2006-06-09

This is a great Casio watch. Its good looking with a nice ana-digi display (it has black face, the numbers are somewhat golden and light is green) and it has the most useful functions: world time, timer, stopwatch and 5 alarms. The face is a bit thick but its light weight.
Its a really good watch for the money.
Very good looking     On: 2006-05-07

Update ** 5/7/07
While this is a really beautiful watch, and functioned well for the last year or so, and will definitely continue to function extremely well, there are visible signs of wear due to cheaper material used in this particular casio model (not typical in more expensive models). So I would rather buy another casio retailing at Amazon for 50+ which uses quality material.

Its one of the best looking metal band casios.
I like the fact that it allows you to choose constant display of Day or Date/Month. I would have liked a choice of Day and Date, but unfortunately thats not a choice.

Its light weight, very good looking, allows you to illuminate the display in the dark, has a stop watch, alarm, and worl time. Almost everything I would look for in a watch, at an unbeatable price.

Since this is my 5th Casio over a period of 7 years, I can tell that the quality of Casio watches is awesome. The only reason I changed my watches were:
1) Two of my resin band watches broke (strap). Watch was functional till the day I stopped using and even today, they just need a
2) One of my metal band was lost.
3) I finally got tired of my last Casio watch, so I decided to go for a change.

I believe this one will last another couple of years b4 I get bored, but I am sure it will be hard to top this ones good looks.

I purchased from chelsea and it arrived in 2 days, since I orderd it in NY, and they are from NY
Casio Watch     On: 2006-03-28

I bought this watch for my international trip to southeast asia. I was looking for a modest priced watch that would allow me to view several time zones as I travelled, and continually revert to my home time zone while there. I was most impressed by this watch and would highly recommend it. Most electronic watches require an MIT degree to change or set functions. This one makes it so easy, that I did not even need to refer to the manual (which I brought just in case). I was able to clearly and easily see the times, and was also able to change settings, just by using my insticts. The digital display was easy to read at night, and the analog clock continually displayed the time at my home town. The alarm works easily and I used that almost every morning. It is also water proof to at least 15-20 feet (I tested that personally). I did some research and bought this based on other readers opinions, and am here to support those - get this one.
Good casual watch     On: 2006-02-27

Good for casual wear but not for formal/fashion occassions. Cons first- the dial is on the thicker side, about 1.7cm thick. The watch body is a combination of brushed aluminum (looks classy) and shiny stainless steel (not so hot looking). A 2-tone metal strap would have been great, but its made of brushed Al/steel metal.

Pros- The illuminator function is a head turner! You can set the watch face to light up (green) when you turn it towards you. But that feature also drains the battery pretty fast. I like the analog, digital time combination. You can set the two independently which comes very handy when you are travelling between time zones. It also has all the major time zones programmed in so you can quickly switch the digital display between them. This feature is very handy when making phone calls or travelling across time zones. The watch is pretty light for its size and looks like it can take some rough treatment.

I changed to this Casio after my Swatch Ironys strap broke. The watch was cheaper than the Swatchs strap! I would recommend this watch for daily use.
Awesome watch     On: 2006-02-26

Need to be wary of the display pic inconsistency. Seen it changed several times. The one with bluish lights/black dial is incorrect, the correct picture looks to have a brownish/greenish shade/ black dial. Up front it looks fantastic. You get terrific functionality too, without things being complicated. This really is immense value for the money.
Great for the office     On: 2006-02-21

I have used this watch for about 2 months now at the office and its incredible. The mettalic look gives the watch a grown-up feel at the office but the features matches that of a digital with its timer and several alarm features including a snooze. So far, ive used this during my 15 min breaks and the stop-watch for lunch to know when to come back for work. The stopwatch only goes up to 60 mins before it restarts the count but i rarely use it for anything more then 60 mins. The analog hand is over the display and there is no way to turn off the digital display for a complete analog look. Setting up the analog hands can be a pain because its not a turn-type of dial, you have to keep on pressing the buttons which only goes clock-wise.
The metalic armband turned out to be a lot lighter then i tought which was good but the clock face is slightly thick but its not anoying and you hardly feel it on your forewarm. Right out of the box, the armband will be very loose and so you have to find a profesional to custom fit it. Even with that, this watch beats many other watch and is a lot cheaper too. I am very happy with my purchase.
Solid watch, fairly priced     On: 2006-01-31

If youre looking for a grown-up watch while trying to keep your geek street-cred, Casio is the way to go. Ive only had this watch for about a month now, but Im really happy with it. The digital/analog combo was the seller for me and I liked the way the numbers were large on the face.

Many people have commented that this watch looks quite expensive, though I thought it was pretty modestly priced. It has some nice features as well including a variable backlight (you can set it for a short or long glow-time), a countdown clock, and an international time feature.

I like the fact that you can switch between displaying the date or day on the main time display mode and I think the little circular second timer (while mostly frivilous) adds some nice style. The brushed metal band is handsome and its just a nice overall semi-dressy watch.
4 stars!     On: 2006-01-14

Ok got mine from chelseas watches. NP what so ever from that perspective.

About the watch. Its thick. Thats why I gave it 4 out of 5 stars. They do a good job of desguising it with two tones but i would say from thickest point in the middle its about a half inch thick. I would prefer about half that.

On the upside! Coolest watch feature ever for 28 dollars:
lift your arm in the classic look at your watch motion and the backlight for the numbers turns on! Its actually smart about it too. The motion doesnt need to be super fast and motions that are downward etc dont trigger it. I can put up with some extra battery use for that much cool!

Alarm is typical watch loud. Its loud enough that youll notice it while your awake but dont plan on using it for an alarm clock.

Metallic styling is ok. There is a plastic part you can see on the picture that isnt the best look imo. You only really notice when you put it next to a truely stylish 100 dollar watch then you notice that plastic piece real fast.

All and all great value.

Watch okay if only.......     On: 2005-11-07

Hello this was my first order here, well it was not directly amazon but anyways the delivery of that watch was one day over the promised delivery date and to top that it was the wrong watch not the one with a silver/chrome wrist band no I got the cheaper version with the black wrist band.

Beside that the watch is fine and I only can recommend it just one point not on the watch in the manual didnt find mine appproval it was not explained how to turn on the automatic light feature on the watch for all that have that same problem press and hold the "B" button on your watch till the sign that it is on (" * ") and with kinda magic as soon as you look in the right angle at your watch it illuminates.
Excellent Watch     On: 2005-11-03

Good for young man.
Cant be more satisfied with it.

One complain: shipping fee is too high.
8.98/shipment, + 1/item.
i am regreting i didnt buy 3. LOL
Awesome Technology and functionality     On: 2005-09-16

I would rather break my review in sub parts to make it easier for you guys :-

Looks :- 4 / 5 : the metal strap and the overlook look is awesome But i must say , the green lights put me off in a way , i expected a silverish sort of light , so apart from the light display , no negatives at all for this watch

Functionality :- 5/5 : YOU CANT beat Casio when it comes to Funcitonality . It rocks !!

Technology :- 5/5 : The auto light sensors and some of the other stuff in this watch is mind blowing ! this auto light sensor works in way that you just need to tilt your hand towards your eyes , and the watch lights up automatically for you to see the time......AWESOME !
Cool watch. Wrong display picture..........     On: 2005-08-18

Yeah, this watch is cool alright. But hell, that display picture is waaaay off line!!!!! ( I hope i didnt get the wrong watch.lol)The dial shown is like a bluish colour. The real products dial is black, and the digits are somewhat muted. It looks real nice under sunlight, giving a high fashion look to it. It says "Illuminator" on the face, in red.

But, to be honest, id rather prefer this instead of the "one" in the display pic. It looks more...............masculino!!!

But please, Chelsea Watch(forgive me if im wrong..), you HAVE TO change that display picture. Ure jus misleading people.
Most excellent     On: 2005-03-17

Cant beat price, looks, features or quality with a 2x4 for Casio, the huge kinda Jetsons bubble design had me a little unnerved at 1st but its not at all heavy, its really nice
