I am PASSIONATE about watches and own a variety. Many I own are technically "nicer" than this watch, but someting about the way this BAUME & MERCIER HAMPTON MILLEIS XL dresses up that makes it the watch of choice for formal events and court appearances (Im a lawyer by trade). Some of my other watches are just too sporty for formal wear/work. This watch is not quite as blingy as the smaller Hampton Milleis with entirely polished bracelet - I actually prefer the smaller shinier bracelet to the alternating brushed and shiny links on the XL bracelet (but it is still VERY elegant) - the size of the XL suits me better - it is a VERY prominent piece on the wrist. Hampton Milleis is more "designed" than the straight Hamptons - curves, and keystones highlight the straighforward face which is very readable. I own 3 B&Ms and have purchased another as a gift. I find them to be reliable, elegantly designed and a fantastic value for the price point at which they are offered.
