![]() Omega Mens Constellation 1900.31.01 Watch Average Rating: 3.0 Total Reviews: 16 More Information howabout a serious review ok after reading the reviews from the children that obviously know little about watches. I spend my time researching diffent items. as a watch collector and i must agree with one view I would never buy this on the internet also lets be serious this is a omega . no big deal . if you want a nice watch that will last a life time , is solid 18 karat gold with diamonds then go with a rolex presidential . you can buy a nice one for 27000. if your serious . breguets are nice but very expensive and have leather straps. mont blanc does have some nice watches and you can really pick up a nice one for just a few thousand. 18 karat gold .. patek phillepe is also a nice brand . so do your home work . and do not believe all the ads . go visit tourneau corner they also have a wide selection. good luck and make a wise choice. ok, by: Anonymous On: 2006-08-13 this watch is [...] but I would like to say a few things about quality watches - As far as watches go, this is not near the highest quality, not near the most expensive (google something like "most expensive watches" and look for forbes if you dont believe me, theres tons of superwatches in the $300,000+ range, with some topping a million), and downright gaudy. Since I am assuming a lot of users here are tech-savvy, this particular Omega model is best likened to a gold-plated laptop - making the product more expensive just for the sake of doing so. - You couldnt give 5000 mexican kids an education with 41 grand, thats $8.2 a child. Everyone would be a philanthropist if that was the case. - Realize that theres legions of watch-crazy people out there. Swiss watchmakers get really into their watches, some watches have such complicated engineering (patek philippe, iwc, breguet, or any "grand complication" watch) that it takes literally years to build that -one- watch. They even have official organizations that monitor production. Switzerland is as serious about watches as France is about wine. - Realize that the highest quality watches keep time for centuries as opposed to a digital watch which lasts for a short amount of time. If you buy a $20,000 patek philippe watch, you can expect your great grandkids to be using it. - A high quality (usually starts at $4,000 or $5,0000) watch is an investment. The highest quality watches (usually starts at $10,000 and can be up to the $60,000-80,000 range) are MAJOR investments. Past the $80,000 mark its pretty much a collector good, because at that point only someone who is absolutely nuts about watches would be able to appreciate it anyway. - There are a lot of bells and whistles on watches that are mostly useless but certain people can actually benefit from them. The "world time" watch by patek philippe is $40,000 and people who travel extensively could benefit from it greatly. Theres also many lines of quality watches that are benefitial to pilots, and astronauts as they are not affected by gravity. - Above all, the watch is the mans only accessory.. and how a man dresses, is incredibly important, because it is the very first outward appearance of you, and every nuance helps. Given the opportunity I could probably argue that a high quality watch is more important than a high quality car (assuming a $20,000 watch is like a $200,000 car in the watch world) because often your car is paid very little attention to whereas your presence is unavoidable. If all of this isnt enough, Piotr I. Tchaikovsky and Albert Einstein were Patek Philippe owners. Just do some researching on wikipedia or timezone or whatnot and youll find some good reasons to justify this over, say, an expensive television. I would much rather have a nice watch than a television, at least a watch is SLIGHTLY utilitarian. :) Anyone that can afford this watch is not seeking for it on the Internet and looking for a mail delivery... unless, of course, wants to fantasize. If you really want to read more accurate statements, look for them in specialty web sites. HONESTLY! THE HUMANITY ,MAN! THE HUMANITY! THIS IS JUST PLAIN OBSCENE. OFFENSIVE TO HUMANITY. A CRIME OF ALL AGES. 41K? YOU COULD GIVE AN EDUCATION TO AT LEAST 5000 CHILDREN BACK IN MY TOWN IN MEXICO WITH THAT KIND OF MONEY!! I WONT EVEN MENTION HOW MUCH HUNGRY PEOPLE IT COULD FED. I JUST HOPE NOBODY GOES AND BUYS THIS OBSCENITY. ALSO, SOMEBODY PLEASE REPORT IT TO THE CPSC (U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission)DUE TO THE FACT THAT IS NOT SAFE TO CARRY ONE OF THESE AROUND. woohoo I work as a male order bride and, when i came to this wonderful land My 200 pound wife got me this watch, must say Tavio is very happy with 40k watch, tavio feels very happy, down there... but tavio is also sad, coz me be getting more exspenisve gifts from other females, People who buy 40k Watch is tavio personal hero Very disappointed... First off, i feel very ripped off after maxing out my platinum card buying this. To my shock and suprise it didnt even have a calculator. My $30 dollar Timex has a handy calculator and this watch at $40000 doesnt? Im sorry but that is just inexcusable. Though i must admit that the watch did get me a few compliments at my highschool dance. Some of these reviews ARE funny, but let's try one serious review. First, I have to say that I dont own one of these and dont plan to. I agree that if youve got enough money to buy one of these, donate most to charity and buy a "decent" watch ($10-15K Cartier or Patek Philippe, for example) for yourself. Id say theres ONE legitimate reason to buy a flashy watch like this - thats to impress business associates. Sometimes the whole point is to look rich. Not necessarily tasteful. However, if the point is to "look rich" to someone - perhaps a client or potential partner, there are better ways to do it. This is one of the most expensive watches that Omega makes. Consequently, youre not going to impress someone who expects to see an expensive watch on your wrist. This is the equivalent of the most pimped out Honda Accord rather than a plain low end Mercedes or Lexus. If youre going to spend $40K on a watch, get a medium price watch by one of the ultra luxury company rather than this one. You would have to be a stupid rich person! 41k! People its a watch you could get a nice car for 41K! Then still get a nice $1000 watch! Totally Worth The Money I work as a janitor at a local high school in New York. After selling my house, and donating a lot of my blood. I was able to buy this BEAUTIFUL watch. I mean, its cool, and all makes me feel like a real high roller, but the diamonds keep falling out I was wondering if I could purchase some extra dimonds. I hope we can work out a payment plan, I get paid on fridays..... Excellent Piece I recieved this watch from my wife as a aniversary gift and was in awe it is a beutiful watch and works superb, the complements are endless! A serious review for the discerning gentleman The review prior to this, have been ridiculous and silly! Imagine! Losing a diamond! Poppycock! Now the refined gentleman will find comfort in the fact that this finely crafted timepeice is made with the discerning in mind. The exquisite synthetic gems! The decadent stainless steel mechanism! The wondrous multicolored finish - no drab, two colors here my friend! So if your stocks are doing well, or if your offshore investments have returned splendid dividends, then spend a little of your easily earned profits on a stupendous yet small peice of metal that tells the time much better than a cheap watch. groovy watch Please view Pulp Fiction and ask Christopher Walken for advise as to the proper way to store and transport your lovely new watch. Oooh!! I bet those diaminds are pretty sharp. Great watch but Some things need to be improved This is a great watch but seriously...where are the spare diamonds??? Everytime i reach for a cup of coffee and bang my wrist against the edge of the table i lose a few diamonds!!! Its really aggravating because when im at a berkeley coffee shop and i do this i see all the bums scurrying around under the table trying to find them. I mean im trying to drink my bloody coffee and i have bums scurrying around under the table. So again...i ask where are the spare diamonds!!! Exquisite. Overshadows the Mona Lisa in terms of beauty. Truly a modern day masterpiece. I needed something to compliment my new imported alligator skin double breasted tux and this was exactly what I was looking for. A majestic watch suitable for only the most refined man. Anything else would be utterly plebeian. Im off to the Hamptons, ciao. Conspicuous consumption at its best Id hope that anyone that can afford to slap down $50 grand for a watch would have better fashion sense. I mean, look at the thing - its neither functional nor attractive. Go donate the money to a charity or something. Just Glorious This watch is a sight to behold! The ALL GOLD stylings are just a visual feast that screams class! i particularly love that the face and hands are also gold! The craftsmanship is superb down to the finest detail When i wore it for the first time i finnaly felt a complete man and had no troulble picking up succesfuly on my first night out with this delightful and masculin time peice; A filck of the wrist, a flash of this watch and i was in! Thankyou Omega! Great watch but does have its drawbacks A very presentable watch at a reasonablish price tag or so I thought. When i opened the solid oak presentation box, the sunlight reflected off the diamonds straight into my iris causing me to lose the sight in one eye for 3 days. Now thats what you call bling. A week or so after wearing this watch constantly, I have only been jumped (tried to be robbed) on 3 occassions, which is very low considering the watches price. On the first occassion this guy saw my watch and comes upto me and says, hey dude, is that an original 1900.31.01, I said yes, and without notice he punched me clean out. Luckily, the clasp is hidden and he wasnt able to open it. On the other 2 occassions, another guy tried to rob me twice, i think he really wanted the watch. Luckily i escaped unharmed. Oh yeah, im sure somebody tried to do a drive by on me, but aint nobody going to catch me in my Porsche GT2! The watch itself is really great, no it doesnt have a day date function like my Rolex, nor does it have a backlight, nor does it have any numerals which makes telling the time really hard. In fact its impossible to tell the time accurately to within 5 minutes, so i keep my trusty old casio in my pocket, after all this watch is about more than just telling the time. I mean come on, how shallow can you get. So overall its a great showpiece that everyone should buy. p.s. Come on Omega, i cant believe they didnt include any spare diamonds. Two of them have already fallen out of the bezel and 5 from the strap. |
