Tag today sent me their annual catalog of their latest watches. On the last page I read a warning, that they will not service and not honor any warranty on watches purchased Via the Internet. This warning was in Bold, so they were not kidding.
Although I have not bought any of my tags via the internet, but I would forever be worried about buying any Tag from the internet. by: Anonymous On: 2006-08-21
I am extremely happy with this purchanse and the watch has received many compliments. by: repsb On: 2006-07-12
I owned this watch,a gift from my wife and loved it the best I ever had. Was assured by all that it was tough. Then lost it --In Use--just fell off while surfing. Tag tells me it is not a "warranty" issue, I say a watch like a Tag should not come off while in use. Is Tiger ok when his TAG comes off while hitting a drive? Do not think so. Love the watch and now know what TAG is made of (their marketing tag line is "What are you made of?") by: doole On: 2006-06-30
I would rate it 0 stars but they dont offer that as an option. Perhaps even -1 stars.
Amazon cancelled my order and told me it was out of stock. According to the site, there were 2 in stock at the time I ordered. They said I should reorder, but of course didnt respond when I pointed out that the the price had risen $200 in the interim.
They mumbled something about the supplier, which of course isnt any of my concern.
Not the class of service I have come to expect from Amazon. Dont waste your time with this - stick with the books. by: sixjim On: 2006-05-26
My wife bought this as a present for me after I had helped her narrow down the watches I liked to this and an Omega. I think this was the best choice as it has all the digital features that I require on a daily basis as well as the useful feature of hiding them when I dont need them displayed, leaving a smart sophisticated anlogue watch!
If I have a gripe, it must be that the hands appear a tiny bit on the cheap side, too chromey! They extend too far on the opposite side so that the minutes hand overhangs nearly as far as the hour hand! Sometime just glancing at the time takes 2 glances. The overlong minutes hand also end up blocking the bottom digital display, that is really annoying. I wonder if Tag Heuer would be kind enough to chop off the extra bit of metal for me!
Ideally I wish Tag had put illuminous dots for the hours, or even small numbers as they have done at 12 and 6 oclock, that would have been nice.
Other than the 2 above so-so issues, I do really like this watch and as the other reviewers mentioned, it is a class act. I wear mine all the time and hope that this is the last watch I will need for many years to come. On: 2006-05-18
I own this watch for over a year now and i must say it has been an excellent buy. The watch is truly functional with its wide range of features. Its has real saphire and not synthetic saphire, because of this the glass is without a scratch until now and hopefully reamin so forever. The metal bracelet has never caught any hair on the wrist. I suggest this watch to anyone with an active lifestlye. This is one watch you would never need to take off. On: 2005-08-31
I went looking for a watch earlier this year (2005) with the intent that it would be the last watch I would ever buy. Im sick of the $20/$100/$300 watches that look OK but look very average after a couple of years.
I was looking at other brands when someone told me that Tag Heuer was one of the few that still used a Swiss movement. Sure, Japanese movements are good - but its just one of those things you grow up with: "Swiss watches are the best!".
There are cheaper Tag Heuer watches out there (half the cost of this one), but when I saw this one in the flesh, it was the one for me. I put it on as soon as I got it and I am rarely without it now - especially considering that I have not actively worn a watch for something like 22 years (the others used to hang off my belt).
It is a pleasure to wear this watch and it looks best when the display is turned off IMO. I also keep the back display off in order to save battery life as it can be expensive to have the watch repressurised when the battery is replaced (the only drawback, if any).
Mine was a gift to myself. Best present I ever got! :) On: 2004-12-29
I received this watch as a gift from my wife two years ago and have worn it daily ever since. The combination of analog time and digital functions make it the ideal watch to have for almost any occasion. The green backlight does a good job of illuminating the whole face without being too bright. The stainless steel band looks terrific and works very well. The sapphire crystal has helped it to stand up to all Ive put it through, including almost a year of patrols in Baghdad, Iraq. I cannot recommend this fine watch more highly. On: 2004-11-09
This is truly a masterpiece blending watch manufacturing and modern technology.
The analog watch covers the timekeeping function, while the black background acts as a display that can be turned on to serve as a chronograph, alarm, timer, calendar alarm, date display, and dual timezone displays.
As well, the analog clock and the digital clock are almost always 100% synchronized. On cheaper watches, the analog element is a separate entity from the digital element, resulting in two separate time keepers. In TAG Heuers watch, the two keep the same time. When you adjust the digital clock forward an hour, the analog clock automatically speeds ahead to the exactly correct time.
I would reccomend this watch to anyone looked for an elegant and functional watch that can withstand the hardships of everyday life. With a lifetime gaurantee, you will never need to buy another watch again.
Later Note:
I recently used this watch on a SCUBA diving trip, and it definitely lives up to its claims. Although it isnt very easy to spin the dial while wearing diving gloves, it can be done. Also, you may look to using a carabiner if you plan on wearing anything more than a 3mil wetsuit.
