![]() IRONMAN* Triathlon® 100-Lap By: Timex Average Rating: 4.0 Total Reviews: 6 More Information Feature rich, good looking and comfortable watch First I must tell you that I just got this watch today. So this review is based on my initial reactions. I will probably post an update when Ive owned in longer. I bought this on Amazon from Pro Sport Watches and the service was above average. They provided three day priority shipping at no additional cost and they provided tracking. Ive not had to use their customer service. So I cant comment on that. The watch is very good looking. It is also light weight. You hardly know you have it on even though it is a big watch. I bought it to replace both my Data Link and my Ironman. I wanted a watch with at least five alarms, which this one has. The alarms are very easy to set. Just make sure you arm the alarm or it wont go off. It also has a timer, which is great for workouts. And it has a chrono. It also has a memo. I cant see using it for memos but some people might find that useful. The watch is easy to read as the letters and numbers are big. And the backlight is great if you need it. You can set two timezones if you have reason to and you can use either 12 or 24 hour time. I think those are really great features. The price I paid is a real bargain as the watch retails for around $70. The information that comes with the watch is poorly written. It comes in several languages, which is annoying. But worse yet, it doesnt give full instructions or details on how to set and use the watch. So you have to read it carefully if youre new to this type of watch. Having had several, I figured it out quickly. Poor documentation is the worse thing about many products today and this is one such product. I find these Ironman watches last a very long time. My newer model Data Link didnt last long and Im having it replaced by Timex. But theyre not the same as the Ironman. I also had the first generation Timex Data Link 150, which after about five years started going out on me. They have the Ironman features but the added task of the data. Ive had very good luck with the basic Ironman watches and I hope this one lasts a long time too. One thing I do not like about this watch is the way the date is displayed. It has the year first (to the left), the month in the middle and the day to the far right. This is not what Im used to, the month, day and year --- in that order. I dont know why they opted to put the date like this. I guess in time you can get used to it but I prefer the standard way to read the date. Its a very handsome watch for either a man or a woman. I highly recommend it. Great watch for running. I got this watch to replace another one almost exactly alike. All the new timex watches are in a different style now that i do not like and i am more use to this style watch. Well for running or bikeing this is a great watch. It has 100 lap memory with date so if you get busy you can write down all your weekly times by date at a time when you are not so busy. It has countdown timers for interval timing of your workouts. It has five alarms. And a message feature where you can save little messages to yourself. All in all it is a great watch for a runner of any speed. fire fighter retired I have loved this type of watch for quite some time now I really cant remember how many years now but its been the best. It has 5 alarm settings which I use constantly. My wife gets up to it since she still works @ 04:30 then 5 min. later It will go off again. I have it set then for my grand kids to pick up and take them to school. and then last but not least my baby grand daughter while my daughter in=law goes to work, while my son is in Iraq. and Then of course I have it also set for Iraq time zone also. I guess by now you feel sorry that you asked huh? I can go on and say that I also have it set for watering my grass for 10 min. at a time. Thanks for asking. Can't go wrong I dont know what the other reviewer was talking about. Ive never had any problems with the Ironman watches not working. One of the buttons fell off the first Flix model that I had but I was running twice a day and it didnt fall off for two years. The only problem is that with the Flix the battery tends to run out faster since the light stays on longer. It keeps your last runs in its memory though so if you dont put them in your running log immiediately its ok. Ive also never had a problem wearing an Ironman watch in the shower or while swimming. Worst Watch Its of bad quality. It stopped working within few weeks. its not worth for 40$. you can buy it for few dollars in garage sale. Worst Watch Its of bad quality. Cheaper at Walmart.com I know there is no price match, but Walmart.com is advertising the same watch for under $40. There are no scratches and it still looks brand new after a few months. Its easy to use and program. The watch has many useful features and an indiglo display that is easy to read. |
