![]() Casio Tough Solar Power By: Casio Average Rating: 4.0 Total Reviews: 7 More Information very simple watch and looks okay Very simple watch, looks okay and very cheap too.. Not bad at all for the price. solar watch This is a great watch. You dont have to worry about a dead battery!! Anad easy to program Out of power I may have gotten a lemon, but Ive had problems with the solar feature. In typical day to day use (I work in an office setting) the watch would eventually run out of power, usually 3 or 4 days after the last prolonged outdoor exposure. Rather than entering the powersave mode, which I made sure was activated, the analog hands would keep moving, but the digital memory would reset to midnight, Jan 1, 2000. Very frustrating as Id have to reset it from scratch. Was bad enough that I had to buy a new watch. At least it was cheap. Well Worth the purchase I probably should start out by saying that I never, or almost never give any product a 5 star rating. This watch is well worth the purchase price. After spending a little time reading the instructions and setting the watch I have had absolutely no problems with it. It is loaded with features that I probably never will use, but the price does not seem to be inflated by these features. My main thoughts when purchasing this watch were that the appearance is not bad at all ... and ... for this price if the watch ever goes bad I can purchase another without remorse. I was also amazed at the shipping speed. I received the watch less than 38 hours after purchasing it online. The seller was "Famous Brand Watches". The purchase was made here at Amazon. Nice bells and whistles This watch not only looks great but the way the band integrates with the watch case is very well done. The features are just what I would need and use, with not a lot of gizmos that I dont need. The booklet has easy to read instructions and I set up the watch in a few minutes. The analog setting mechanism is great as the hands wind around automatically and can be slow advanced in 20 second incriments. The watch lights up as you tilt the watch torwards you. The solar power feature is hard to find in other watches. I highly recommend it. Made me wear a watch again I gave up on watches because most were cumbersome and large, and they broke easily. Ive been using my cell phone as a watch for years. Recently, we went on an outdoor trip and when out traveling, I realized how much I missed a watch. So I picked this up at a Target as mainly a vacation watch. It hasnt left my arm since (except to sleep=-). I like analog watches, the solar power eliminates dead batteries and I love how the backlight clicks on as you turn your wrist toward you to look at night. I agree on the complaint about the light for setting in the dark. It can be a hassle, but a rare one for me. All in all for the money, the quality and feature set are great. I can wear it with pride and total lack of self conciousness in a corporate environment. It does not scream GEEK! Looks good I like the watch. It looks real nice in a corporate environment and still has that engineering flair. Could use some help determining the actual depth certification. Watch says 50m but the pdf from casio.com says 100m (not that Ill actually approach either). Real drawbacks compared to standard Timex Ironman are no split lap, only one hour timer, cant keep light on while changing anything. That last one is the kicker. It offends me as a consumer and an engineer. I often used that function to change the alarm setting in the dark without getting up to turn on the lights. Limited one hour timer is a concern too. The Timex stopped at sixteen hours, which was always plenty for me. All in all Im happy. It was only $40 and it is a very neat gadget. Also noticed that Casio has some other real beauties.
