More Information

A pretty face, but it doesn't hold up     On: 2008-07-20

Ive had this for a year and a half. I wish it had been a better watch -- glad I only wasted $70 on it.

Its a very attractive watch. BUT -- the clasp is useless. I had to adjust it several times in order to keep it clamped shut, and now the little holding-tab is so soft that I can move it with my thumbnail.

Also, the "super hardened mineral crystal" (thats what it says on the case) is all scratched up.

Skagen has a limited lifetime warranty on its watches -- but it doesnt cover the strap or the crystal.

What good is a watch that you cant wear? One star, and thats being generous.

Not a durable watch     On: 2008-05-21

This watch is thin an light which I really like. The glass has already cracked in less than 6 months of normal wear. I got it repaired which cost over 40$ with shipping and a moth later it cracked again! I have never had a watch this fragile before.
Stylish and Lightweight but...     On: 2008-04-20

On the positive side, this is a very lightweight watch and most of the time I dont even realize I have it on, it also has a very stylish look and I think you can be proud to wear it on the job, on the golf course or out on the town. Lets face it as Men, we dont wear much jewelry and so I think its important to make a good choice with your watches. On the negative side, the calender date is too small for almost anyone to see, the adjustment knob is very hard to pull out, and the clasp sticks out a little even when its closed. But all in all its a great watch for the price. One last thing, having the band adjusted should cost $5 to $10 and make sure they take links from both sides.
Great Watch     On: 2008-02-27

I purchased this as replacement gift for my partner as his previous watch got stolen. I had given him this same model a few years back and he loved it because its extremely lite. You sometime forget that you have a watch on.

I looked at other models but this had a better and easier to manage band than the newer models, and they are not as lite as this one.

It works beautifully and its quite stylish.

Plus it is a well respected brand.
Very nice watch. One small flaw     On: 2008-02-22

Inexpensive, nice-looking, lightweight. It is also quiet, contrary to other reviewers impressions. Maybe this varies for each particular watch? In that case, I am lucky. Generally it is a great watch.

The only small but annoying thing about this watch has to do with its metal link strap. As you wear the watch, the links move against each other and lock on the hairs on your wrist, pulling on them. Ouch! I have had this watch for about a week and this happens once or twice every hour. It is not unbearable, but it is mildly annoying. Maybe I will get used to it over time.

I have always worn leather straps and so I am not experienced in link straps. Maybe all of them do this?
Classy Watch     On: 2008-02-18

One very classy watch... simple, elegant, light weight, thin, and dark gray color makes this watch perfect for the office. The titanium, hard crystal, and water resistance makes the watch very durable. All this at 1/5th the price of my Seiko Titanium Kinetic!

About The Best You Can Get For The Price     On: 2008-02-08

This is by far one of the best watches I have ever owned. It is very rugged , I know because I have punished it severely. But it is light as a feather compared to comparable watches of the same size. You dont even notice it when you wearing it. My daughter gave me one of these for Christmas about 4 Years ago. Recently I got it snagged at work and it broke the locking tab on the band. I easily found the information to have the band replaced opposed to looking for a new watch. In the meantime I needed a replacement. I liked the watch so much that rather than buying a cheap one, or looking for a different model. I immediately went straight to a search for a new one. Amazon had great pricing compared to local stores, so I snatched one up. Now I have a spare just in case.
Nice Watch     On: 2008-02-04

Having read previous reviews I was a bit afraid of buying this watch... But it is really quiet! My wife says it is my hearing... Terrific watch, stylish -- simple and light. Cant hardly tell I have it on. Amazon delivered it when predicted for free. Took awhile, but was worth the wait (Im thrifty!). So far, in four days it has kept perfect time. Just checked it against the US Atomic clock and it is spot on with when I set it when I opened the package. The adjustment of the band was not that difficult, just take your time and you can do it yourself. No need to go to a jeweler... but go ahead if you must. Well have to see how it holds up, my eight-year old Seiko is rather battered... but Ill just wear this one for "dress-up."

Looks and feels a lot more expensive than it was, $67. Amazon beat the prices of several other web-based stores.

If you want a simple, attractive, light mens watch I dont think you can go wrong on the 105LTX from Skagen!

Classic, elegand and light, but easy to brake     On: 2008-01-29

I had those watches for close to two years. Got them because I like the styling, size, color and pretty much everything about it. Id say those are perfect EXCEPT:
1) Supposedly they are water resistant but they fogged up after the first time I got into shower.. the was not intentional and it was during the first week I had them.
2) Crystal is very easy to scratch.
3) Titanium band and watch body are also very to scratch.
4) Titanium bracelet broke after less than two years...
:) So Im looking for a new watch now... Id go for the same model, but its just not tough enough for everyday life. Too bad!
Ultralight and handsome     On: 2008-01-28

Because it is made of titanium, it is ultralight and thin. The watch is very handsome. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is because you cannot tell the time at night or in the dark at all. For the price for a titanium watch though, it is a great purchase.
Stylish     On: 2007-12-19

Ive had this watch for maybe 6 month now.

I bought it simply because it was made of titanium and looked good, and I get metal allergy from anything else. I first had a black skagen mesh watch, but it was not 100% titanium, and started to give me a rash when the paint wore off. This one is perfect however. I use it every day. It has gotten one nick in the crystal. It is my first watch ever not to give me a rash.

I also have received questions like, "Is that watch something special?". So I guess it must look good.

My boyfriend loves it!     On: 2007-12-18

I got this for my boyfriend last Christmas. After a year of wearing it, its still in excellent condition. Lightweight and with a striking appearance, this watch is sure to catch an envious look from his friends. My boyfriend is very thin in stature and watches usually look really clunky and heavy on him. This slim and low profiled design worked excellently for him. I highly recommend it!
Best watch I've ever owned     On: 2007-12-08

Ive owned two of these watches now. It is by far the best watch Ive ever had. It is so light you dont feel it on. Its great if you are a cyclist and want to reduce every once of weight on your bike. Quite literally, it is about 1/3 the weight of an average steel band watch. It has a sleek profile compared to most steel band watches so rarely gets snagged on things while doing work. The face is also smaller than most comparable watches. About 1/2 way between a normal mans size watch and a womans watch. I personally like the color of titanium over stainless steel and have received compliments on this watch for that reason. It is fairly scratch resistant. I am very abusive with my watches. I wear them 24 hours a day even while working or in water. I do a lot of hands on woodwork etc. Ive drug the face across some sharp metal stuff and this has put some light scratches on the face. Under normal use I suspect it would not get too scratched up. The band rarely comes unlatched even if you do happen to snag it on something. The pins have never bent or come out, ever! I think the titanium latch has better wear over stainless steel watch bands. The pins are probably also made of titanium. It dont know for certain but given the fact theyve never come out I assume so. Titanium is much stronger than steel. The band itself is very smooth and comfortable. It never pinches the skin or feels irritating. The reason why I have had 2 now instead of one is that I crashed on my road bike during a 30+ mph sprint and it was drug across 10 feet or more of pavement after an initial hard impact. That broke the face of the watch and put some deep scratches into the titanium but the band never broke or came off. The hands were still good. If I remember correctly I think the watch was still working after all that until I started messing with the hands on it. I paid $100 for it both times. Now that I see they are a lot less on Amazon I think Ill buy another so if I eventually lose or break this one in maybe 10 years from now Ill have another to replace it. You will not be disappointed if you buy this watch. You will seriously be saving money because it is nearly indestructible and you wont lose it if you never take it off because the band doesnt ever break or come off the watch.
owned one for 8 years problem-free     On: 2007-12-07

I have owned this for over 8 years and have not babied it a bit. I have not gotten any scratches on the crystal nor had any other problems. It also keeps very acurate time. I love it!
Great value     On: 2007-12-01

I only recently received this watch. I was a gift, but I picked it out. I liked the understated design, and had been looking for a smaller, simple, titanium watch for some time.

This watch is very good looking, very light, and very comfortable. The fit and finish is very good for a watch in this price range. Ive read reviews that complain of loud ticking, but mine is essentially silent and has a quartz movement. The crystal is also flat against the top of the case. Some reviews mention a raised crystal that was easily shattered. There may have been a redesign of both the movement and crystal, I dont know.

I had a jeweler resize the band. The process is simple, but I did not have a punch thin enough to remove the odd U-shaped pins (various tools proved ineffective), and I was concerned about damaging the band. The jeweler had a pair of pliers apparently designed for these types of pins, and he was able to press the pins out.

The two negatives I have found so far are very dim luminescent markings, and a relatively low water-proof rating (I would have preferred 5 or 10 ATM). I have not owned the watch long enough to comment on its reliability, but with the warranty covering movement for life, I consider this a good value. Even if I need to replace the band or crystal ($35 and $25 from Skagen, respectively), this watch will still be less expensive than the alternatives Ive looked at.

Great watch even better price!!!     On: 2007-11-28

I found this watch at a national department store where I couldnt even use a coupon. My husband really wanted it so I went online and found it for a much more reasonable price and got the exact same watch. The quality is excellent and it is a beautiful watch. Very happy!
Good watch, but noisy.     On: 2007-10-05

Sturdy watch. Lightweight, but its no feather. The mechanism is so loud I have to put it in a drawer when I work at my desk. Tick! Tick! Tick!

I resized the band myself when I initially received the watch. I think it came with the tool to do so. Looking at the watch, it would seem simple to adjust the band even without a proper tool.

Great watch     On: 2007-09-28

I bought this watch for my boyfriend. He likes it very much. The watch is super light and looks very professional and stylish. He wears it to work. It is perfect for his long days tapping away at the keyboard.
Great Watch     On: 2007-09-22

Great watch for the money. Nice size and thickness. Purchased as a gift for our child. Very happy. 2nd Skagen watch in the family.
Skagen Titanium Watch     On: 2007-08-11

Great watch. Very light and slim. Also excellent Amazon replacement policy. First watch would not advance the date automatically. Amazon promptly sent a replacement and issued a postage paid return label for the defective watch. I was not out any extra money due to the defect and return. Many other companies would have stuck me with return postage. Plus many wish you to return the item before they will ship the replacement.
Great watch - tips for adjusting band     On: 2007-07-27

I got my watch a couple days ago. I really like it - very light and very stylish.

HOW TO ADJUST BAND
- as some others have said, this is very difficult. You can do it yourself though. Youll see some of the bands have little arrows on them. These are the ones you can remove. Do NOT pull on the outside portion of the link - it does not slide out. You need to place a small pointed object (like an awl) into the hole next to the arrow and use it to push out on the inside piece. This is a U-shaped piece. You can slide it out a few millimeters, then carefully grab it with a small pair of pliers and pull it out the rest of the way. (once its out a little ways, you can slip the awl back into the slot and use that to pull it out the rest of the way... I found that easier)

Once you get two (or more) of them apart, you can remove the other link parts and put it back together.

NOTE: This is a bit tricky and you have to be careful not to scratch anything. If you arent comfortable with it, Id take it to a jeweler. On the up side - if you need to remove a link, just try it on that one link. If it gets scratched, you are removing it anyway!
Great watch!!     On: 2007-07-14

I bought this watch at Dillards and paid a lot more for it.I got many compliments on this watch. I wore the watch everyday and it held up under bangs, bumps, water, chemicals, and everything else. I looked up this watch at Amazon, because currently my watch is at the bottom of Lake Roosevelt after the clasp thing came undone during one of my attempts at waterskiing. This is a watch that is definately worth buying again, even though I wont be taking it to the lake anymore..
Great watch for price     On: 2007-07-10

I didnt buy this at Amazon and paid more at a department store. I agree with everything already written. I have had the watch for about a year and a half. I just replaced the battery at a local jeweler for $6. This jeweler carries Skagen watches.

The clasp would be better with a double lock. I have not had the problems that other have with the clasp unlocking however I can see where it would be a problem. Skagen take note, we will pay a few bucks more for a better clasp.

It appears that you need a special tool to properly remove links. I had to go back to the department store because only one of the employees was trained to size a Skagen. Before you buy online find a local jeweler who carries Skagen and find out how much it will cost to resize.

Has worked great and seems to keep acurate time. Some wear/scratches on the band and clasp, I wear the watch every day. Not noticable from a distance. One person commented that the watch is loud. Yes it is. You dont hear it in a noisy room but you do when it is quiet or sitting in the car without the radio on. I take it off and leave it in the bathroom at night. A couple times I forgot to take it off when I showered, there was no evidence of moisture under the crystal. I recommend it.
I still LOVE this watch after more than 5 years.     On: 2007-07-01

I received this watch as a gift a number of years ago and still love it. I dont have any issues with the ticking noise or the clasp as other reviewers have mentioned. My version of the watch has two distinct hour-marker bars at 12 and single bars at all other hours. I like this design better than the current "double" marker at each hour.

Ive replaced the battery two or three times (cant remember exactly) and the face has one tiny scratch in it that isnt normally visible and doesnt bother me. Its been a workhorse and I will buy again when the time comes. Ive even come close to purchasing a spare in case this model is discontinued.
Broken after 1-Year Warranty Period: You get what you pay for.     On: 2007-06-06

While I like the lightness of this watch (I hate wearing watches because most of them feel heavy on my wrists, and this is one of the few watches (other than my Swatch Skin watch-- a plastic watch, essentially) that I actually wear frequently. All the other reviews I agree with in this regard.

However, the quality I found is "You get what you pay for." After about 1 year, which incidentally is the Warranty Period, the watch started falling apart. First, the little tab on the clasp broke off. Then, one of the dial markers (the 7-oclock marker) popped out and was floating around banging around inside the watch face. Then lastly, the watch keeps dying on me. I changed the battery with new fresh batteries 3 times already, and it dies on me all the time. I take off my watch at night, wake up the next day before going to work, and see that the watch stopped around 2am the night before. I have to adjust the time, then go to work. Then, sometime during the day itll stop. I look at my watch and I think its 3:15pm-- what a long work day... And realize its actually 7pm!! Even a $10 childrens watch keeps better time than this...

Seeing how the warranty is up, there is nothing I can do about it. So Im actually shopping for the exact same watch and came to Amazon. This is a good price, I paid $100+tax at my local Nordstrom. But I am asking myself, buy another $100 watch (or $70 at Amazon) that will last 1 year, or spend some good money $500+ for a watch that might last me at least 5 years?? Hmmm... Titanium watch selections are limited, though. Especially in the style I want-- traditional, no chrono, clean face with a traditional clasp style. Like this 105LTX watch. But higher quality... I am still shopping around, but I think Im not going to buy this again.
My best friend...stolen     On: 2007-05-21

Ive had (or had) this watch for about 5 to 6 years now and it has never had a problem other than the batteries running low, which Ive had to replace twice with the second time just last month. The handle is strong yet extremely light and does not show scratches or scuffs very well, the face is simple and very stylish also does not show scratches very much, the clasp tension you can easily adjust by putting some pressure on it and bending a slight bit, and the on-time is very much fire and forget. Bear in mind this rewiew comes from an active young guy that never took it off and took this watch skiing, mountainbiking, swimming, running, playing sports, etc.
What can I say? I love/d this watch so much that I will buy it again now that my old one was stolen. Is there a better review than that one?
Skagen Titanium watch     On: 2007-05-20

This watch is great, it is light as a feather, keeps great time and it is the second one just like it that I have purchased. I got it for my husband and it is hes absolute favorite.
Affordable, elegant, accurate     On: 2007-05-19

Ive owned this watch for about two months now, and have very few complaints.

Contrary to the information in some of the other reviews that caused me some concern before my purchase, Ive actually dinged the crystal a couple of times without any evidence of damage whatsoever. Ive knocked the face of the watch on pieces of glass (reaching out the window of my car), a table, and a desk, and you cant tell there was any trauma to the watch.

Its a great watch that goes with a wide variety of wardrobe pieces, from suits to casual. And importantly, in two months it has been accurate to within a minute.

The minor complaints? The font of the date is a little hard to read, the dark face can make it difficult to read the time in low light, and the knob to adjust the date and time is hard to pull out while wearing it.

Love this watch.... with a few reservations     On: 2007-05-16

First let me say that I love this watch. It is very comfortable, lightweight, elegant, and gets comments all the time. However, there are two significant drawbacks that Ive learned to live with because I have yet to find a watch thats as easy to wear.

(1) The watch is next to useless at night because the luminescent coating on the hands is non-existent
(2) The clasp constantly comes undone... i dont know if this is because I had the band too tight or what.

That said, I lost this watch a few weeks ago and after wearing my others and trying on plenty in stores am re-ordering the same one because honestly nothing Ive tried under 300 bucks comes close.... which begs the question of why simple designs cost so much. On another note, they make this watch in all black... (model# 105LTMXB) and black with a white face (model# 105ltxmw) both of which look very nice as well.
Skagen Men's Titanium Wristwatch     On: 2007-05-13

This is a very light weight watch and looks great. The face is not busy, just time and date. Set it and forget it. I have had several compliments on it. The price was very reasonable so I use it as a work watch. I am a mechanic and the matte finish has not shown up any scratches in over a month. It keeps perfect time. Be prepared to pay someone to size it to your wrist. I could not do it myself though I have sized previous watches myself. You cant go wrong with this watch. I love it.
Very good and light watch.     On: 2007-05-12

This wach is very light weight and good quality. Highly recommanded, I will definitely but it again.
Fine watch     On: 2007-05-12

Nice watch, the only 2 things I am not a huge fan of is: its ticking is pretty loud, and the day displayer can be annoying to synch with time.

Very light weight, and stylish.
Nice watch     On: 2007-05-07

This is a really light, comfortable watch. Others Ive worn with a metal band tended to either pinch or grab hairs, this one does not seem to do that.

The watch looks good and keeps good time (so far). My only complaint is that adjusting the band is virtually impossible and I would recommend taking it to a jeweler in order to adjust it.
Nice looking, but.....     On: 2007-04-15

The styling on this watch is very nice. The silver and the grey colors look really good. The lightweight titanium is great and the size is just right. Now for what I dont like about it...first after purchasing online I took it to a jewelry store to have a couple of links taken out...Im out $15 for that. The the clasp pin has broken twice another $20 for repair. And the watch is LOUD. When Im driving to work or am sitting in the office and everything is quiet I can hear the ticking....I dont guess that should bother me..but it does.
Light and thin, face looks nice - but clasp is weak & opens accidentally     On: 2007-04-11

Nice looking watch, especially the face. The band is rather plain - overall very light and thin.
BUT...The clasp is poorly designed, the edge sticks out, catching on clothing and everthing else. It pulls open all the time because it does not have a lock-over like other watches.
great watch at low price!     On: 2007-04-10

The watch is very lightwieght and is scratch resistant so far! I wear it at work everyday and its holding up great!
Enjoy the watch and Always buy from Amazon!
Simple, light, and stylish     On: 2007-04-01

I bought this watch because I wanted something inexpensive, but still professional looking. I like the lightness of the watch, the thin size, and the simple design. It does make an audible ticking sound that is louder than I would like, but still not very noticeable.

If you havent seen other comments about getting the watch sized, pay attention. I took it to a professional jewelry repair shop, and they still couldnt remove some extra links without leaving some minor scratches. I would recommend having any size adjustments done by a professional jeweler who has been selling this brand of watch for a while. The jeweler I went to has a good reputation, but does not sell Skagen.

Affordable, thin, lightweight titanium watch     On: 2007-03-11

Skagen makes this watch very thin and lightweight with an unbeatable affordable price for titanium watches. The watch is only categorized as a fashion watch because it looks good for its price. The quality of the clasp is terrible. I bought this watch for my boyfriend for vday and he said that the clasp keeps on popping off easily. He does like the watch besides of that factor cause it is light and great for a everyday beater watch.
Awesome watch     On: 2007-03-07

My son bought this for me for my birthday. I love it!! Like so many others have said, if your tired of those bulky boat anchors youll love this watch. Its so light youll have to double check to see if you have put it on. It doesnt have all the " bling bling " you see in a lot of watches which is a good thing for me yet its still very elegant looking. Thin, light weight, nice looking and keeps great time. I cant say enough good things about this great watch. Buy one....you wont be disappointed.
Great Product     On: 2007-02-12

I had a 6 yr old Skagen that broke down last year. Since then, I was looking for a price worthy watch. Forutunately, I found something I was looking for at amazon.com. Great watch at an awesome price. I love my new Skagen..
Very nice timepeice     On: 2007-02-09

At first I was slightly disapointed because it was not as ultra thin as other Skagen watches I have see ie:(mesh models) but, after wearing it for awhile it really grows on me. The titanium is super light and you will forget your wearing the watch. The other ultra thin models feel heaver. I had a bit of a problem trying to get it fitted, I went to sevral stores many would not even tuch, finally I went to a large popular jewlery store and the had to get 5 people to work on it and try to get it sized down. I was very worried of it being scratched but it holds up well against scratches. I would highly recomend if you didnt want a huge bulky watch. If you enjoy the slim simple elegant looking watch this is for you.
Exceptional Value     On: 2007-01-31

Exceptional value in a classy and understated design. Keeps time in a superior fashion Highly recommended.
Great, good looking, light weight.     On: 2007-01-25

I wanted I watch that I could forget I was wearing. This watch fits the bill. It is very very light weight, and the band is comfortable. Ive had multiple watches over the course of my life, but this is one that I will put on at the start of the day and only take off at the end of the day, comfortable and light.

It also looks great. Sophisticated looking, and can be worn in both casual and dress events. Great everyday watch! Highly recommended.
Bastante bueno     On: 2007-01-23

Skagen Men's Titanium Watch #105LTX     On: 2007-01-18

This is the second one I have owned, very nice looking and light waight.
Very nice, comfortable watch     On: 2007-01-17

This watch is very thin and light, I bought it for my boyfriend who had never worn a watch and he likes it a lot. So many mens watches are so heavy, this one is a welcome change. The picture is a little off, the color is much lighter than the photo, but I think it looks much nicer in person. The only reason I didnt give this watch a 5 is because apparently this type of link is hard to take out, and I had a hard time finding a place that would even touch it because they were afraid theyd ruin it. The jeweler that ended up doing it for us scratched the links and didnt close them correctly. So if you get this watch sized, i would make sure that the jeweler is sure they wont hurt it. Overall, the most attractive, comfortable mens watch Ive ever seen.
Titanium Watch     On: 2007-01-16

A very good looking time piece. I had it re-sized to fit my sons small wrist, no problem. He has received many compliments.
Beautiful Watch     On: 2007-01-14

Pretty much the only thing I can say is that this is a great watch at an even better price. Its very light in weight, which is the main reason why I picked this watch. I hate watches that make you feel like you are wearing a tank on your hand. This is a simple, durable and elegant watch that will serve you well.
Great Watch! No un-needed frills.     On: 2007-01-06

After 6 years I finally managed to break the crystal on the stainless version of this watch (I usually destroy them after only 1 or 2 years and this one didnt have a scratch.) I couldnt be happier that I decided to stick with Skagen and upgrade to the titanium version. Its understated but elegant appearance is great for everyday or dress wear and it does seem light as a feather compared to similar stainless watches. I would highly recommend it to anyone but especially to those looking to move away from the bulky, over-featured dive watches that seem so popular. Give it a try. It will quickly become your favorite.
Nice watch     On: 2007-01-04

My husband is not big on watches but he likes to wear one when he dresses up. I saw this watch and it screamed his name. I knew hed love it and he does! It is light weight but very well made. It makes a classy statement with out being too fancy! He wears it even when he doesnt dress up!
excellent     On: 2007-01-01

this watch is excellent. i got it as a gift, and had it for 6 years now, and it looks like new!! the titanium is very durable, and exceptionally lightweight. the band does not break, and the time is always accurate. you will not be disappointed.
5 years and still ticking     On: 2006-09-14

This is a nice slim stylish watch that is relatively rugged and durrable. I am hard on watches, the metal disolving away after a year of being exposed to sweat on Sieko to Timex brands. After 5 years there is no sign of such wear on this titanium watch. Ive replaced two batteries and one band so far. Mine is quiet. The date number is way too small for me to see even with reading glasses, not a problem for me, however.
light and elegant     On: 2006-09-08

I usually took off my watch during sleep. No longer, I wear it almost 24 hours a day because I barely feel its existence. My father did not like wearing any watch for whatever reason, but he likes this watch. I gave mine to him and immediately bought another one. I also like its unassuming yet elegant look. This is the watch I like best among all those I ever owned.
Perfection!     On: 2006-07-29

I could not be any happier with my new watch. I bought a similar Seiko at first, but it looked so industrial - cobbled out of parts that just didnt quite work together. This Skagen is such a beauty (their best-seller for past three years). The bracelet is more intricate and elegant than most, the case is very thin (who really wants to wear those monsters they make these days?), the indicators really dazzle when you glance at them in the sunlight. Titanium is so light and handsome! Hands are luminous (Amazons description doesnt tell you that). Not a watch that immediately catches your eye, but as you wear it you realize what a gem it is.

Keep time? Of course it keeps time - but with quartz moevements that really isnt an issue any more, is it?
A Skeptic turned Believer     On: 2006-07-17

I admit, I was a little skeptic buying through Amazon, but I was delightfully shown wrong by the intensive research that Amazon has done to make certain that the item you buy is the real thing. When I bought this watch I was looking for two things; first, it had to be titanium, and second, the width of the watch had to be a certain size. I was able to ascertain through just a couple of search suggestions the brand of watch that would give me those criteria. I have always been a Seiko fan, but was not able to find a Seiko that would be large enough for me to see the dial hands. After a search for a couple minutes, I came upon this Skagen Titanium watch. This dials were large enough and the face was wide enough so that I had no difficulty in reading the time. It certainly beat a lot of walking in stores and comparing first hand. I highly recommend using the Amazon site as a way of finding your desired product.

Great watch, though a few problems.     On: 2006-06-16

The watch is fantastic. Ive had it for about six months now and its still in pretty good shape. Its the lightest metal-banded watch Ive owned, almost as light as the cheapo plastic-banded ones. The ticking is a bit loud in a quiet room at night, but its certainly nowhere near the loudest watch Ive owned.

There are two problems with it, though. The matte finish on several of the links has started to give way to the glossy underlayers. This is, however, only noticable from less than half a foot away. The other problem is the latch. Because it doesnt have a counter-locking mechanism like most other metal watch bands, it comes open every now and then when making sudden movements like clapping. This happens very sparingly though, maybe once every several weeks.

Overall, its a good buy, especially at the prices on Amazon (I got mine in a real-life store for list price).
Thin, lightweight, and sleek.     On: 2006-05-30

This watch is a great value for the price. If your like me and dont like huge watches but want something nice looking in a mens watch, Skagan has found a niche. Had mine for over 4 years and not one problem. Been running fine since the day I bought it. I am not the most careful guy with my things so scratch resistence is a must on a watch. Not a scratch yet. All in all a great simple, elegant looking watch.
Great design..but quality is terrible     On: 2006-04-14

First thing youll notice about this watch is its incredible weight. Its super light compared to those big clunky stainless steel watches. I had this watch for over 5 years, and I got scratches on the crystal from normal use. So dont expect this thing to be completely scratch resistant.

Well the low ratings has to due with the poor service and build quality. The "chrome indicators" that mark the hours actually came loose inside my watch. I sent it to Skagen under their lifetime warranty to repair it. Guess what, it happed THREE times already...same exact problem. Ive spent over 30$ just shipping the watch back and forth.

Again, I really like the watch, but the problems with things falling out, and poor repair service, I can only rate this watch a 3 star.
Functional Elegance     On: 2006-02-23

Wife and I were out shopping for a watch for her one day when she coaxed me into looking at the mens watches, even though I told her I had decided there werent any mens watches out there in the world that appealed to me, having seen my fill of big "boat anchor" watches and many others that were just plain boring. Then lo and behold, my eyes were drawn to this Skagen. At last, I had found a sleek watch with classic styling that didnt cost a fortune, and that you dont see everywhere! I was excited. And you know what? After three years, I still love it! It still looks great (it shrugs off hard knocks very well), keeps fantastic time, and draws the occasional compliment to boot! I couldnt have asked for more from a watch.

Best watch in the world!     On: 2006-01-07

I love this watch. I got it in July and man it is awesome! Its so light that you wouldnt believe youre wearing it. I worked at Starbucks for 6 months and banged it around and no scrathes at all on the hard mineral crystal. Its not scratch resistent, but ive never gotten any nicks at all.

People from various age groups (teenager, mom, yuppies) have asked about the watch because its a subtle classy elegant watch. This would make a great present for that special someone or for yourself.

If you want to adjust the chain, go to a local watch shop. It should take less than 5 minutes and cost about $6. Dont do it at a major brand name store. They charge $15 and you may have to wait.

By the way, the numbers and dials do glow in the dark. Crazy!
