Other than that it is great. David Everything you could want..  On: 2004-03-22This watch has it all. With Flextime, you will never have to set it. The time is always accurate. Period. A great way I use the paging is with E-bay auctions. E-bay sends me a message when Im outbid or when I win an auction. The 800 # for paging me allows me to set up my own message, and you can choose any e-mail address you want (@ skytel.com) for the text messaging. Most importantly to me, the pager and e-mail work in places where other pagers and cell phones are dead. I can still be reached anytime of the day or night. Highly Recommeded; works as advertised On: 2004-01-05I got this a year and a half ago expecting disappointment. I was pleasantly surprised when I realized that it was every bit as reliable as my old beeper. I am an airline pilot and use this as my watch (time is always perfectly accurate) and my beeper. My kids have used it a few times to email a message to me also. Like most beepers, it works where cell phones occasionally dont (big buildings like Walmart, Lowes, and Ice rinks). ...it has worked great for me. I am only on this website to buy another as mine went bad after scuba diving (4 dives to 60 feet). It does not advertise waterproof, although I have been swimming, wakeboarding, etc... many times. gay  On: 2003-12-19i have a lot of brothers and they like really anything but this watch this watch has so like wow lets stop and look but i dont think this is a cool watch Great watch, Better Pager On: 2003-12-12Great pager substitute and very discrete. Emails are best sent from the skytel site. That way, you only get valuable message content instead of the message header. However, I have used it for my outbid alerts at my auction site to great success as well. The automatic time updates are great for travel and the multiple alarms are useful as well. Battery consumption is on the high side, but a small price to pay for such a functional device. Best of all, you can receive messages without appearing rude. No one suspects a watch for data transmission! Its MUCH more discrete than a cell, blackberry or two way. 4 stars because the watch bands arent as durable as Id like and there are VERY limited style options. Id really appreciate a metal bracelet style wristband for better wear and a more dignified look. Ive had to replace one because of strap damage and may soon replace another. MATT I like it, but it ... a lot of batteries On: 2003-04-15I originally bought this watch during my wifes pregnancy. This watch is awesome because I dont need another device on my body for my wife to reach me. The free 1 yr subsription from Skytel is pretty good too! I gave it a 4 star instead of 5 because there are a couple of negatives: 1)The buttons are clunky @ best because timex try to add too many features w/the small amount of buttons on it - it will take some time to get use to it. 2) This watch takes a lot of power to maintain, especially if you live in the rural areas(your pager are more likely than not to go into "roam" mode...Hence, you will use a lot power. I have gone through 8-10 batteries in a year because of this...BTW, the batteries are the same kind as the hearing aid, are in expensive, and are extremely easy to obtain from any drug store. Coolest watch you'll ever own! On: 2003-01-18I initially bought this for myself, but my high schooler begged me to give it to him. The Yahoo alerts are cool, but thats just the beginning. Once you activate service with Skytel, it becomes a valuable communication tool. Like a pager, you are assigned a toll-free number. You can customize the greeting with your own voice. The caller can either leave a voicemail, where your watch beeps (or buzzes) and identifies the phone # and area (city, state) of the originating call. Or they can leave a number that appears on your watch. It also accepts SHORT (100 characters or less) email communications. The address is the (phone number)@skytel.com This is a great way to communicate with your kids! Send them an email wishing them well on their Geometry test, or you can tell them youll be late coming home! I recommended this to a friend whose son was going away to boot camp. They limit the phone calls to home, so my buddy send words of encouragement to his son. This was the only thing that kept the kid going, he said (plus the emails from his girlfriend)! I wound up buying another one for me and my other son. (These are the same watches worn by the kids on MTVs REAL WORLD in Chicago). Fantastic watch On: 2002-10-06I have the older beepwear version of this watch (mine has the timex datalink and stores phone numbers, etc also), but the technology and features are the same otherwise. Aside from the pager feature, the "flex time" is great. I never have to set my watch, or worry that the watch is running slow, the time is automatically set. I did find that the pager had slightly less ability to receive pages in buildings than a "normal" pager, but I hate carrying a pager. This watch was the only answer for me. My beepwear service has lapsed, but the time setting function continues. Im considering buying one of these newer ones but Id miss having my phone numbers handy. Almost usable  by: Anonymous On: 2002-10-06 I was really looking forward to this watch, and ditching my pager. Unfortunately, the 100 Char limit on messages means I cant use it. Particularly when you forward an email to it, you get very little data. I get the senders email address, the subject, and the last few lines of the email (usually just the signature line) and I miss the important part of the message. Otherwise it is a great watch. The best part. On: 2002-08-22The best part about this watch is Skytel.com is giving a free one year of nationwide paging service. All the goodies, 800 number, callerid, voicemail, email address to your pager. You name it. I would give it a try. Timex I.M. Sport watch by: Anonymous On: 2002-01-04 This watch is a great watch. Im a very busy person and constantly on the go with my friends, sport groups, and Boy Scouts. My mom and dad are scared of something happening to me, so because I was gettign tired of them calling either my coaches cell phone or one of the adults in my group cell phone, I went out and got this watch. It now enables me to go places and have them stay in touch in a private and peaceful manner. I may not be able to talk back on the watch, but I certainly can use a cell phone to call back. I can also check my emails while im away and even see what the weather is like the next day. I know of a lot of kids who like the sports scores that it can give!
