![]() Nike Triax C5 Heart Rate Monitor Watch By: Nike Average Rating: 4.5 Total Reviews: 25 More Information !!! Ive been using this HRM for 3 months now and this is what I like: - Easy to use - Good HR read - Quality What I would improve for me: - Bigger size It looks small on my wrist T_T, overall Ill recommend this product. Very nice heart rate monitor watch Everything works great. Only slight problem I found is that heart rate monitor isnt accurate if the chest band is not moist enough in beginning of workout. I just wipe the band with water in beginning to fix that problem. .. The watch and chest belt are great, both are comfortable and work as advertised. This set up has everything you need. One nice to have feature would be to have your heart rate display in Watch mode, so you can see the time as well as your heart rate. It shows your heart rate when in stop watch mode, but not when the clock is showing. No big deal, but something that would be helpful. Nike Heart Monitor and Watch This is my first heart rate monitor and it does exactly what I expected it to do. The actual monitor is a band that fits right under your bra and is made out of rubber like material and attaches with an adjustable webbed fabric with key lock type fitting. I read in another review that someone broke this fitting when taking it off--that would take some determination as it isnt a flimsy fitting. The watch is masculine but it has a large enough face that it is easy to read even without your glasses. The watch controls are simple and easy to master once it is all set up. To set it up-YES you have to read the directions but they were well written. I chose the Nike heart rate monitor because it is about half the price of some other well know monitors and it works well. I gave it four stars simply because Im not thrilled about how it looks. I use mine mostly for bicycling and spinning to make my workout more efficient. Good value I have used my Nike Triax C5 heart rate monitor a couple of times. Easy to set up. The numbers on the watch are easier to read than my old one. The strap is comfortable and stays in place. The only negative for me is the instructions for setting the heart rate doesnt work for me (but the instructions said it may not work for everyone). I just plan to reset with other instructions. Glad I bought it! Great HRM Gave this a try based on buyer feedback. After finding out that Polar products need to be returned to the company, I ruled that brand out completely. (Polar monitors are good but thats way too much hassle for me). Tried Nike and after a month of use I am very pleased. Excellent Item! Very simple watch, fits great, comfortable. Shipped very quick. My fisrt heart rate monitor watch and im believe I chose the right one. Nike is very good brand and I wouldnt not want to trade for another brand for sure. cost effective Its great that the batteries, CR2032, are available at most drugstores, groceries, etc. It is accurate about 80-90% of the time...sometimes for a whole 1-2 hour session it is 100% accurate...but sometimes it gets wild with very high readings of 180-220 bpm when Im at 85 bpm. This can last for 30 seconds to 5+ minutes then it goes back to the correct reading. Learn to take your pulse for 10 seconds, multiply up by 6...or do as I did: just memorize the x6 multiples of 10-25 so you can dbl check the accuracy of the monitor when it gets wild. This is a minor and fixable problem compared to paying for repackaging and sending in a Polar or similar monitor when the battery wears out. I can use this one for years...and if it breaks, its way cheaper to replace it at that great price. Nike has a winner. BTW: Cant tell you about battery life...just got it two months ago. But, CR2032 batteries last for 1-2 years on other products we have in our house. It will depend on how much you use the monitor and the watch. CVS Drugstore sells a packaged pair for under $10. Easy to operate I purchased two of these, one for my nephew and one for myself. Both are easy to use, although the initial set-up was a bit complicated. If you read the instructions you will be fine. Strap will break I bought this monitor based on the Nike brand name and I must say it has actually worked well. My only problem with it is the strap and trying to get a replacement. The plastic fastener that secures the chest strap has broken and rendered it useless. So the only recourse I have is to buy a brand new one...Nike should offer to sell just the replacement strap. Solid buy I bought the Nike Triax C5 to use during my P90X workout routine. After three weeks of daily use its been great. The controls are a bit hard to figure out and not very intuitive. Sometimes its hard to get it to go into program mode, but once set up it works great! Its built to last, but as a result the watch part is a bit bulky. It would be nice if it was more low profile. Nice heart rate monitor The chest strap is very comfortable, I dont even notice I have it on. The monitor watch is a little on the big side, but for my use I can deal with it. It actually keeps me looking at it, which is the point of having it. I did a lot of research and this monitor had the best reviews and best price. Im happy I went with the Nike Triax C5. Perfect for my DHs workouts and looks great!! Bought this as a gift for my husband. This product is a wonderful value - does everything my husband needs and looks great on! Very pleased!!! Nike Triax C5 a Good Value I purchased the Nike Triax C5 heart rate monitor a coulple of months ago and have been very pleased with it. I have not used one of these kind of devices before but found this one very easy to use and very convenient. I would recommend it to anyone needing to keep track of their heart rate while exercising. Works Great I bought this heart rate monitor to use with my P90X workouts. It has worked flawlessly. It has never lost signal or gave erratic readings that many monitors suffer from. The setup was easy and it is comfortable to wear while working out. Does what it should at a great price! Good Product, Easy to Use This is my first heart rate monitor although I have been running for over 20 years. It was easy to program and I even look forward to using it during my exercise routines which vary daily. Watching my heart rate has made me increase my effort with some activities. When I find Im in a lull running and maintaining 154bpm, I ratchet it up a little and bring my heart rate to 170bpm for a few minutes and drop back down again. My power is increasing and I can see physical results in my legs. I suppose I could do this on my own but the watch helps -- and is fun. Strap Broke on 5th Day I liked the simple functions. But the heart monitor strap broke within 5 days of owning it. I used it 5 times and the little plastic fastener on the chest strap snapped. Poor quality? Yes. Nike Triax beats all My wife, an aerobics instructor for 19 years, used to use her Polar hrm, with erratic results. She quit using it a few years ago. Now of course the battery is dead and can only be replaced by polar. Rather than go through that, I decided to give this hrm a try. It is both intuitive and accurate. I use it every day whther cycling, working out, or doing other cardio stuff. I highly recommend it. Incredible value! Great device! One little issue before I could start using it made the rating a 4 instead of a 5. It stuck when trying to set it and I had to take the battery all the way out to get it to reset. So if it starts blinking like crazy and none of the buttons work just carefully take the battery all the way out and start over. That was a little tricky to do but not too bad. After the reset it did great and it works fabulous! You do have to follow the directions correctly and wet the band sufficiently. Excellent hrm I am a long term (8 yr plus) heart rate monitor user for high intensity cardo workouts. First impressions: Build quality excellent, much higher than Sigma hrms (which I could not get to last more than six months). Quality is on par with Polar, at a much lower price. User interface is the best I have seen on an hrm, (much better than the low end Polars, which drive me nuts). Setup is fast and operation in workout is easy with large common sense keys. I especially like the one button selection to flip between a large heart rate only display, and a workout time/smaller heart rate display. Nice simple average heart rate calculation, and a single hi/lo range, which I require, but no other options that often increase cost and complexity. Quickly picked up my (dry) resting heart rate, a rarity at this price point. If build quality is related to longevity, this one should last a long time. But I am hard on hrms, so well see. So far, so good I just got this thing so this isnt a super-duper in-depth review, but I wanted to mention one thing that wasnt in the specs or the manual. There IS an average heart rate function on this bad boy. Keep the stopwatch running during your workout. When youre done, hit The functions of this watch are much easier to navigate than my old Polar, and its also a lot slicker looking. One HUGE improvement over the Polar is the fact that you have to hold the Gonna do some intervals tomorrow and see how it works in the red bars. If I discover any short comings then, or any time in the next two years that I expect this thing to last, I will report back. No updates indicates continuous 100% satisfaction. Happy training! Solid Choice After many hours of reading reviews I knew that Nike was probably my best bet. I wasnt interested in the battery issue the Polar monitors have and so many of the others just didnt rate well. Getting an accurate monitor is especially important to me because I am working out nearly everyday and am pregnant, so I have to monitor myself and back off when needed. I chose this watch because it is fairly basic, stopwatch, heartrate, and time- all I need. Ive been using it for a couple months now and am happy with it. This is a good quality monitor for a fair price. The strap is comfortable, I forget Im wearing it. I love that the gyms equipment picks up its signal as soon as I get on to display my HR on the screen. So far Ive not ever had a problem with another HR monitor interfereing when I do my spin or other classes. Ive found it to be very accurate while working out. However, at rest it seems a bit off sometimes- but thats not when Im concerned about my HR. During one workout last week I was getting some odd readings, but I had not wet it before strapping it on so I dont think it was getting a good signal. It seems as long as I do what Im supposed to do (rub a little water on it before strappping it on) then it does what its supposed to do. Unless you want to spend a lot more money on a Polar, and hassle with returning it for battery replacements, this is probably the next best thing- or just as good! One final note of importance, I broke off the attachment piece to the strap my third time ever using it! I wasnt paying close attention and pulled at it the wrong way in my rush. I called the customer service number that came in the box and was helped very quickly. No problem, a new strap was sent immediately with no cost to me! Nike was great to work with. Easy to use! This works very well and is very easy to set up and use. It appears to be accurate when compared to machines. I have had some trouble getting it to sync with machines, but that is okay. Love to be Healthy This product is great for anyone that wants to know their heartrate during exercise- the best way to tell whether youre getting a workout or not. Came is good condition. perfect for me so far I had a polar monitor that continually would not register in mid-workout. In contrast, I have not had a single problem with the Nike Triax (so far, one month). Additionally, the Nike watch allows the buyer to change the batteries themself, but the Polar monitors do not-one has to send it in to Polar when the battery inevitably wears out. Nike Heart rate monitor Overall I love this heart rate monitor, but the only thing I dont like is that the watch is a little big. |
