 Invicta Men's 4342 Russian Diver Collection Black Watch By: Invicta Average Rating: 4.0 Total Reviews: 73 More Information Returned Next Day, Poor Quality  On: 2010-08-04I returned this watch the very next day after receiving it. When I removed the screw-cap, the crown fell out...very disappointed in quality of the watch. Remember this is a Swiss Movement watch and not Swiss Made...big difference. If you can afford to spend a few extra dollars, consider one of the Russian Diver Quinotaur Collection watches, much better quality, heavier and Swiss Made. it's big, and I like it  On: 2010-08-02overall I like this watch. Ive worn it for about 3 weeks now. Features that I like are the large numbers so its easy to read, the glowing ring/numbers is also nice. I like the size and design of the head. the weight of the watch is nice, doesnt bother me. its a GREAT watch for under $100 a few things that id caution you about are: the band Id give a 4. its pretty stiff, and the adjustment holes seem to be either just to loose or too tight. granted wrist sizes are not universal, I find myself messing with the band regularly. Another note - because the cap over the adjustment knob sticks out a good 3/4", you cant realy wear it on your left hand comfortably because when you bend your wrist upward youll find it pokes into your hand. Invicta Men's 4342 Russian Diver Watch  On: 2010-07-26This watch is awesome. Even though I knew what the dimensions were when I bought, it is still amazing how big it really is when you put it on. Its a little awkward at first when you start wearing it and then you get used to it and it is awesome. It is amazing how much attention it gets from other people when they see it. I have been only swimming with it so far and it is perfect. This watch works great. AWESOME!!!!! A very unique piece of watch On: 2010-07-17Got my watch from ups after 5 days from time of order from amazon website..really fast. really like the huge design and the full stainless body and i think quite worth the price to pay for this watch... Huge, good looking watch, but small wrist-band  On: 2010-02-06Had to return this watch because the wrist-band is too small. I am a big guy (63") with a proportional wrist size and I could just barely use the last hole on the band. Due to the tight fit and the huge size of the screw-cap crown pressing against the top of my hand, made this very unconfortable to wear. Sometimes I had to switch it to my righ arm to keep the crown away from my hand. I tried contacting Invicta to see about a replacement band, but got no response. PROS: -good looking -keeps perfect time -easy to see the time, even at night CONS: -wrist band too small -srew cap too large -no seconds dial Excellent product On: 2010-01-31This was my first invicta watch and I would like to say it was one of my best buys The quality is unmatched and it is an eye popper whenever I go out. My first invicta watch but not my last!! Big Bold, Eye catching.. what the other guys said. On: 2010-01-30This thing is huge.. and heavy. Now that thats out the way, I love it. Im 63 235lbs. So It actually looks semi normal on me. It helps that I have long arms. I wouldnt recommend it for someone short, or petite. I love the oversized bold look of this thing. As others have mentioned, its a conversation starter. People WILL stare and many will comment. If youre a big guy like myself, I doubt theyll talk trash about your watch. If so, its big and heavy enough to brandish as a weapon and knock them out. Seriously though, its a great value. I'm in love On: 2010-01-24This watch is the mother of all watches. It is indeed huge, but beautiful. Im in hotels a lot, and this watch face glows brightly until early in the am. Its a beauty. And a plus? My left arm is getting bigger than the right from the sheer weight of this bad boy. Its great. Get the watch. Youll be glad you did. WOW, Great watch! On: 2010-01-22Big, stylish and eye catching is how I would describe this watch. The silver barrel accents in the band really stand out. Nice silver/black combination that is sporty yet classy at the same time. Once again, another great watch from Invicta to go along with the other Russian Divers I own. Very Nice On: 2009-12-24Yes I have read all the complaints about it not being swiss made but for 80 dollars who cares. It is a great looking watch that keeps very good time. This is my second Russian Diver and I will buy another. Great watch for the price and with free next day delivery it was a made even a better deal. Nice watch for a very nice price. It's ok...but  On: 2009-12-24This watch has a huge face, 2 1/2" across, including cap cover. It also has solid large pins over 1", two in each band. The case is 5/8" thick. The thickness of the band is nice, as is the heavy clasp. The main problem is the band length for such a hefty build watch. The hole side of the band is 4 3/4 " long from bottom pin to end of band and the clasp side of the band is 2 1/2" giving a total of 7 1/4"...not very long for a mans watch. The average band length on a watch comfortable enough for a tall and big build guy is around 8 3/4", a full inch and a half that makes a lot of difference. My Casio divers watch is around 8 7/8", very easy to adjust and easy fits my arm. My Wenger is around 9" and is a stainless steel band with all sorts of adjustment holes along the clasp end and even a "pop out" extra steel piece of over 1/2", Both of these are comparable in price with the Invicta. Invicta has basically designed a nice, heavy duty watch but failed to design or realize the shortness of the band, which is about 1 1/2" shorter than the average band on most larger watch movements. If they redesigned the band, I feel Invicta would have a much better product. I would not hesitate recommending this watch, but would also add be careful of the band design. It just does not make sense to design a huge watch, with such a limited short band. Go back to the drawing board Invicta, add the longer band and you have it sold. Very nice watch! Warranty? Not so much... On: 2009-12-23As stated by so many others, this watch is HUGE and seemingly well made. It instantly became my favorite watch in my 20 watch collection. Fits even better than I thought it would because it is really designed as a big watch for normal wrists. (The band leaves the case almost straight back because the watch covers the entire top of my wrist.) My wrist is 7.75" around and I can wear it with either 1 or 2 holes left in the strap, so I dont think the band is too short as some have stated. The reason that I took off 2 stars was for the warranty and service deal with Invicta. Its great that they extend the warranty to 5 years when you buy from Amazon and register online, BUT, they will always charge you $25 for return shipping for any service you have done, even if it is under warranty. That means that a $10 battery change will cost us about $40 with shipping and the $25 service/shipping charge. Also, if you need major work done, it is quoted as a percentage of the MSRP, which is inflated. (This $575 watch can be purchased for $85. Another $2000 watch is selling for $369.) Repairs could end up costing more than the watch sells for new! Thats pretty sad... Another small deal: The Invicta polishing cloth that was shown and mentioned was not included in my box. All that aside, this is a very, very cool watch! BEWARE THIS IS NOT SWISS MADE!!! On: 2009-12-11The watch I received is not the watch in the pictures... There is a HUGE difference between "Swiss Made" and "Swiss Mvt". When I called Amazon about it all they could offer was a return and the phone number to the manufacturer. I will be calling them tomorrow to complain and will be returning this watch as soon as possible! NOT SWISS MADE/SHORT BAND- Invicta #4342 Russian Diver On: 2009-12-07I wanted to write this review to inform future buyers of this item, the Invicta Mens Russian Diver Collection Black Watch #4342, of two facts; 1) This watch is not "Swiss Made" as indicated in the pictures of the product that Amazon displays. When I actually received the watch it stated "Swiss Mvmt" on the dial and "Swiss Parts Movement" on the back of the watch case. This means that you are not getting a "100% Swiss Made and Assembled" watch. **Amazon needs to clarify this on the product page and change the pictures to resemble the actual watch that you will be getting. 2) The watch band is extremely short. I have an 8-8.25" wrist and was only able to attach the strap uncomfortably on the last hole. I researched alternative aftermarket 26mm straps and even contacted Invicta for a possible exchange/replacement. The aftermarket straps would only accommodate one set of springs per side without user modification, while this watch actually has two springs per side (probably due to the size and weight of the case). Invicta Service was not able to offer a better solution. The customer service representative stated that the only other option they had to accommodate the two springs, and thus not compromise the integrity of the watch, was a leather band. However, I would have to order it (they would not exchange/replace) and that it measured the same length as the original. **Amazon needs to clarify the actual watch band size instead of just stating "mens". Some other thoughts about this item; The watch I received was obviously an open box or return item as it was missing the standard Invicta polishing cloth that comes with all of their watches. It also had some missing protective plastic along one of the sides of the case and the plastic for the crystal had obviously been removed prior and replaced poorly. Even with these issues, this is a beautiful large watch and would be a great value at the lightning price of eighty dollars for someone with a much smaller wrist and less concern for where and how the watch was manufactured. A well informed consumer is a satisfied consumer. Amazon please clarify these issues on the product page and maybe reconsider providing more consistent and accurate information on all of your watches. Love this watch!!!! On: 2009-12-03This is the nicest watch I have ever owned! I have paid much more for other watches that were not even close to the quality of this invicta!It is heavy and big but very comfortable to wear. I do not know how they can sell it at this price. If you want a watch that will get peoples attention this is the watch for you. Huge, Great Looking Watch On: 2009-12-02Ive only had this watch for a few days, but I can tell its well made. The watch is very heavy and looks HUGE on your wrist. However, I must caution you: some of the pictures on Amazon understate the amount of green in the watch. Make sure you look at all of the pictures to get a true feel for how much green there is. In one of the pictures, the green parts looked silver, so I was surprised when it arrived and it was green. Fortunately, the watch still looks great. This is my first Invicta watch, and Ill probably be back for more. Giant!!!!!!! On: 2009-12-01This watch is way bigger than the pictures or even the reviews could get me to imagine. This thing is built like a tank too! Loving it! Beware, photos are decieving.NOT SWISS MADE On: 2009-12-01I bought this watch and love it for its size and weight but Amazon is lying through photography. The watch in the pictures says SWISS MADE and this is SWISS MOVEMENT. Huge difference and honestly fraud on Amazons part. I got a good deal on the watch @ 79.00 but still I feel slighted as to the fradulent offering. If you like a big weighty watch this is for you. SWISS MADE----look elsewhere. Buyer Beware!!!!! On: 2009-11-26Do NOT trust the photo in this picture. This is a classic "bait and switch"! This is NOT Swiss Made as the photo of both the front and back of this watch suggest. It is a Swiss Movt (movement). For people that know watches and understand this, just be aware. Still not a bad deal at the $75.00 I paid, but not thedeal I thought I was making. One Powerful Looking Watch!!! On: 2009-11-11This is one great watch -- no frills; not even a second hand, but keeps absolutely accurate time & date. And it is BIG - I have a big wrist - about 9" around and this watch still stands out. Couple of small minuses -- I do wish the band was a bit longer, cuz I have to wear it on the first punch hole and if you wear it on your left wrist, the screw on "can" which covers the crown is big and if worn way down on your wrist, it will dig a bit into the top of your hand. Solution: try the right wrist -- All around, solid feel - quality. Cannot beat having a solid, Swiss Made watch for this low low price! Very Nice On: 2009-10-21I purchased this item from Amazon going with just a picture of it and was very happy with the outcome. A friend of mine has a similar Russian Diver and I really liked it when I saw his watch. I have a very large wrist so the size is not overpowering on me. Everyone that saw the watch when I had it on was very impressed with it and commented on its size, which when you see it in person is HUGE! I love it and will purchase more Invicta watches. Amazon delivery of this item was excellent. Bold Statement for little cash On: 2009-09-26Only had this watch for a few hours and I am totally impressed with the quality and comfort. The dial is truly impressive at night with the oval and Arabic numerals glowing bright green. Strap is a little short and could use an additional inch or so, but I am able to wear it on the last hole in the strap. Watch is not as heavy as the Russian Diver that my son has, but he as one with a metal bracelet. This is my 2nd Invicta and Im sold on their quality and workmanship. BIG!!!!!!!! On: 2009-09-06I just got this watch and I love it. Its big, bold and has style. Thats what separates a watch like this from others. So far it keeps perfect time unlike my Seiko autos. Which of course thats why we own watches. I am very happy with this watch and will buy more Invicta watches. As long as the style is fresh, bold, and keeps time they will always be on my wrist. There is only one downside instead of a 52mm face maybe it should have been a 48mm face. For the money as close to perfection as possible. Hunka Chucka Burnin Love! On: 2009-08-05I saw this watch on tv one night perusing the channels. I saw it and fell in love with the price which was at that time a little over $100.00. The people selling it kept raving about being Swiss Made. Ive bought swiss made watches before but for far more than what they were offering this one for. Seeing the watch on tv is an understatement. It is thick and heavy and has a larger than life face. The numbers are larger than I had expected. Solid piece! My only complaint, if there should be one is that the band is not as long as I would like to be. I can only use the first hole. My wrist must be bigger than I thought it was. I am a large man but I have seen men with larger hands and wrists than I. For those men, tough luck. Other than that, its a great watch. I cant beat the price. I am not sure how I feel about having something with the old letters from the Union of Soviet Socialist Republic (CCCP) on it. be ready to be noticed On: 2009-07-28My son bought one of these Russian diver watches from a watch store, so I came to Amazon and got the same one for 170 bucks less,. anyway, I got one for my brother for his 62nd birthday and he said "this is the best present I have ever received in my whole life!!!!!". Now I have 4 of these myself, red, yellow, black and blue faces. My son has 5 now thanks to Amazon. Be ready to xplain the watch many times to complete strangers. I actually had to go over to a friends house and show him how to order one on Amazon. He wanted to give me the watch he usually wears for helping him, I said "I dont think I will ever wear it", he goes, me either, LOL. big invicta diver collection On: 2009-03-05nice big watch undoubtedly noticeable in any crowd but not the most comfortable and leaves a mark on wrist. overall, a good quality time machine at reasonable price. On: 2008-10-05This is the first watch I have ever ordered from Amazon.com and it was in mint condition. I love the dial design and everything about this watch. I would recommend it to anyone who wants a big, easy to read, reliable Invicta. Its well worth the price and Amazon shipping is fast. Big. On: 2008-07-13Its big...crazy big. Not for shy people or people that like to blend in. Build quality is great. It feels really solid. Just plain fun. Big, BOLD, FUN On: 2008-02-21I have owned this watch for a week. Its big, bold and a heck of a lot of "fun". Its a big polished slab of stainless steel, big thick mineral glass (or crystal I am not certain). Beefy canteen lid cover for the crown + dive weight looking stainless accents on the thick resin strap. Even the buckle is BIG. Its just makes watch wearing a lot of FUN. I have other watches that are more conservative and pretty much disappear on the wrist. I wanted a stainless piece with resin strap that stood out more and... just something different.... something no one else around me has. FUN is what this watch is all about. Super-easy to read at night too. The hands are polished stainless with glow accents. The shiny stainless hands are the brightest/flashiest looking things on the face and offsets the matte black dial nicely. I dont know if they planned it that way, or just got lucky... either way they surely got it RIGHT. Its a Ronda quartz movement inside and keeps very good time although a week is hardly enough time to evaluate a quartz movement. I syncd it with my atomic G-shock the day I got it, and so far it shows no signs of inaccuracy. I already have 6-7 other watches. So this is adding something different to my collection. BIG AND BAD! On: 2007-10-10This is my second Invicta watch and as with the first one, Im not disappointed with the quality. It actually looks better in person than on the website. and bigger- much bigger. Its really big. And heavy. And shiny. And big. It gets a lot of attention. Also, I think my left arm getting bigger. All joking aside, it is a great watch and I really like it. |
